you smiled, working at the small coffee shop, just down the street from your school. it was a really nice job, one because you loved the stuff they served and it always smelled nice, and two because you got to see all sorts of people everyday. 

your friend Patton always walked in to get a cookie for lunch, before school started, Logan walked in to get a black coffee, you had the regular hoodie dude, who you worked with in theater, and the crazed dude who was growing an impressive mustache for only being a teen.

you were currently working at the counter when you saw him walk in, his very tall and muscular frame walking slowly towards the counter, his perfect hair, and sharp jawline, just all made your heart flutter. you smiled, before walking to the back for a second to beg your coworker, a guy named Remy, to take his order.

Roman Royal, just the name made you shudder. you have had a crush on him since middle school, the confidence was something you envied, his grace and charm made your knees slightly weak. you expected him to order it to-go like people usually did, but he checked his watch before ordering it in, you felt a knot form in your stomach, as you knew you would be the one serving it since Remy took care of the cash.

you got the order and quickly started pouring the coffee, and adding the measurements, you stirred it, finishing it off with some whipped cream and some caramel drizzle, before grating some chocolate over the top, you walked out quickly. walking to his table.

"Hello, here's your drink." you said softly, handing him a straw, as he took it from your hand, your fingers slightly brushed, causing your face to turn a light pink.

"I know you..." Roman said, narrowing his eyes slightly scanning your face, as your blush grew a little deeper. 

"you're part of the theater group aren't you?" Roman said, and you lightly nodded, a smile breaking out on his face.

"what role do you have this year?" Roman asked happily.

"oh... I work on the tech side of it, with lights and sounds, just... behind the scenes." you said, nervousness creeping at the end of your voice. Roman's chocolate eyes continued to scan your face.

"you should try out, you definitely have the looks to be a star." Roman said, sipping his coffee as your blush deepened. you were about to answer when Remy called you over. you smiled at Roman before turning and walking back Remy just smirked and whispered in your ear.

"you've got it bad you know, babes." he said and you whacked his arm he just laughed, going back to the back room with his coffee. soon enough your shift was over and you took off your apron. 

you ran to school and jogged up to your locker. after the first few classes were over, lots of yawns during, you walked into the cafeteria, with your food in hand, before sitting down your normally empty table. you smiled sipping a coffee in your hand, as you began eating, but something surprised you, Roman, came over and sat across from you, earning whispers around the cafeteria.

"Hello again." Roman said, as you tried to stop the blush from your cheeks.

"Hi." you said softly, taking another bite of your food, and sipping some more of your coffee.

"the coffee was amazing this morning, just the right mix of bitter and sweet, but you know what?" Roman said, leaning over the table a little, you shook your head, hoping that ou didn't mess up his coffee.

"the person who served it was sweeter." Roman whispered as your cheeks went from a dusty light pink, to bright watermelon pink. Roman just laughed. you spotted jealous looks from others around the cafeteria.

soon enough it was theater and Roman kept smiling at you. the day went by and you soon were walking back to your house, Roman's hoodie around you as he carried your books, speaking gently towards you. the next morning Roman came to the coffee shop once again and asked you out, you said yes. from then on Roman became a regular.

eventually you and roman both went to college, still dating, sure you fought but so has everyone. things continued and soon enough you and Roman were married, happily.

that brings you to now, working at a small coffee shop once again, you watched Roman walk inside, quickly leaning over the counter as you two kissed quickly.

"are the little piranhas at daycare?" you asked and Roman nodded, before ordering a cookie

"I'll be back later, my darling. just wanted to say hi." Roman said, before leaving. you smiled, this all started because of that coffee shop.
