you walked home, leaving Virgil crying on the park bench but being too caught up in this nightmare to realize. you soon reached your house, walking upstairs and wiping the tears from your eyes, you had an anniversary dinner date with Janus and you were going to enjoy it.
thought the more your thoughts traveled around, the worse and worse your felt, your mucles clenching, a soft pounding in your brain as an uneasy feeling grew in your stomach, Janus couldn't be saying that about you, could he?
soon enough you walked outside to see Janus waiting in his car, a smile as you hopped into the passenger side, Janus driving along after you put your seatbelt on. staring out the window you tried to keep the thoughts from your mind, but there are just some things you can't forget.
"Doll... what's going on? you haven't talked to me all night" Janus said after he parked the car, his eyes on you, while you bit your lip trying to figure out of you should tell him or not. you sigh and look up into his entrancing eyes.
"Virgil lied to me, telling me you were playing me..." you mumbled and Janus' eyes widen before he clears his throat, scooting a little closer, setting his warm hand on you cheek as he stared at you, your heart beating fast.
"oh dear, he's lying, I wouldn't play you." Janus said, before kissing your lips quickly and hopping out of the car, taking your hand.
"I'll make sure Virgil leaves you alone," Janus asked and you bit your lip, concerned slightly for Virgil.
it was a lovely date, and you soon returned home, hopping into your pjs and trying to sleep, the guilt still eating away at you as you laid in bed, you closed your eyes, wishing to just fall into a deep numb sleep.
it was late when you woke up, your alarm failing to go off, as you scrambled around, throwing on some day clothes, grabbing your backpack and running out the door... only to run back inside to put on some shoes.
you made it to class just in time for lunch, rushing towards the cafeteria when the school nurse rushed quickly towards you.
"y/n, you shouldn't be in school when you aren't feeling well." she said, squinting at you, as you looked up at her confused.
"go home." the nurse said, escorting you to the doors and leading you outside before going back in. with a very confused and sleep deprived brain you began typing Janus quickly
y/n : Why did the nurse tell me I was sick
Janus: I did it so you wouldn't get in trouble, you should be thanking me, I'll be over later with your homework.
y/n : okay I guess, love you very much baby...
Janus: see you later
you sighed, stuffing the phone back in your pocket before trudging home, sitting on your bed, and thinking to yourself, your parents were at work and so you kinda had the house to yourself. but you were too guilty to do anything, not that you really had Virgil's number but you thought about texting him, telling him you didn't mean to the end the friendship, that he must be mistaken.
a few hours pass before Janus walks in with you homework, as he lightly kissed your cheek before setting it on your desk.
"you know, I've never been happier than right now, holding such a precious thing in my hands, the world up against me." Janus said, keep a hand on either side of your face as you stared at him.
"I love you, but lying for me is not okay, Jan..." you said, looking into his eyes as they darkened slightly.
"why are you being so ungrateful, I kept you from all that paperwork and slips, its fine, you should be thanking me right now..." Janus said, his face darker. you just nodded, it was easier to agree than to fight and loose something as special as your dream.
"hey, I love you." Janus said, lifting your chin with one hand, and you nodded before Janus kissed you passionately before pulling away.
"I'll see you tomorrow." Janus said before leaving, you walking over to the large stack of homework with a sigh.
the morning came quickly, your alarm set this time, as you made it to school, a yawn on your lips. you knew you had to do it as you walked over to Virgil's locker, waiting. the warning bell rung and you had to leave, getting a tardy slip if you had waited any longer.
after making it to your science you heard the teacher call out something loudly.
"y/n y/l/n, you're new science partner is Logan Berry." the teacher called out, as you saw the smart boy approach your table, stern and ticked-off look on his face.
"I didn't want a partner, so lets get this project over with." Logan said, adjusting his glasses as he sat down, pulling out the textbooks as you looked around the class, eyes concerned.
"where is Virgil?" you asked, looking around the room before Logan looked up, his eyebrows furrowed.
"I assume you haven't heard?" Logan said
"heard what?" you asked, growing more panicked with every passing second.
"he got expelled yesterday" Logan answered as your felt yourself growing nauseous.
"why?" you asked, Virgil wasn't a bad kid, he barely got detentions, hating the attention he got for it. so why would he ever do something bad enough to be expelled.
"he allegedly targeted Janus online, and broke a few rules. but I have my suspicions." Logan answered before he looked down continuing the project in silence as you held back the gloss that appeared over your eyes.
the day continued onward, but your brain was far away, how could this all be turning to nightmares. everything seemed to turn to nightmares. you walked with your head down to lunch, sitting next to Janus, who for some reason didn't greet you this morning.
"Hi Janus..." you mumbled, looking up at him as he stared down at you, giving you the silent treatment.
"why was Virgil expelled?" you asked suddenly, watching as both Remy and Remus exchanged an awkward eye contact as Janus sighed a deep sigh, turning towards you.
"your dumb little brain can figure that out my dear." Janus said, before sipping on his tea turning away from your hurt face. this... wasn't like Janus. Janus had always been so sweet and kind... what was going on?
"Jan..." you whispered hurt, looking up at him as he glared down at you.
"I'm eating and you're interrupting me." Janus growled out, before taking another bite of his food as you nodded, taking your food and walking to the library, somewhere you could think, somewhere away from people.
you sat there, not reading, hardly eating, just staring at the walls, something was very wrong here, and you couldn't put your finger on it.
the end of the day drew near and you were about to head home when you realized something. you'd forgotten your notebook. with a sigh you headed back to the class before the doors were locked. you'd never in a million years expect what you saw, near the end of a long hall. down one of the shadowy corridors was Janus... making out with Remy.
(I was listening to dreams from ultimate story time while writing this... I just thought it was ironic)
