Chapter 52

Prompt: Sick Logan/ Logan gets sick but still tries to work and hides it cause he big smart but also big dumb and ends up collapsing and everyone is really worried

Heyo
I may or may not have been hinting at this in the last chapter 👀
Some of y'all caught on -good job
But yeah
Hopefully yalls like it

I actually kinda hate this chapter to be honest, I don't like how it's going at the moment -that might change as I continue to write it, but I currently don't like it all that much.

It's also one of the shortest chapters as well, maybe the shortest

Idk, I just don't like how it turned out

Enjoy tho

Logan woke up feeling like his skin was on fire and like his head was being hit with a hammer every five seconds.

He groaned softly and rolled over away from whoever he'd been cuddled up to and slipped out of bed with a small shiver, ignoring the way his vision tilted slightly as he stood up, and instead sluggishly felt around the bedside table for his glasses before putting them on.

He glanced back at the bed and saw his three boyfriends still slumbering away, and pushed away the urge to join them -he still had work to do that he hadn't done yesterday, so now he was behind. Or well, behind in his opinion.

He left the room as quietly as he could before making his way to his own bedroom, where he'd be able to actually work without the temptation of going back to sleep with his boyfriends.

His skin felt sensitive and almost raw in the cold morning air, with every little breeze or shifting of fabric sending an awful tingling pins and needles across his heated skin. He felt hot, yet disgustingly cold and clammy at the same time, which helped to push away the urge to just go back to sleep -just the thought of going back to bed with the hot, thick blankets and disgustingly soft fabrics made his skin crawl and him feel gross in general.

So instead of going back to bed like his aching body yearned for yet despised, he went to his desk and sat down, rubbing his face to try and clear his foggy mind before reaching for the stack of papers he had to read and go through.

But as he read the words just swirled together on the paper, skittering around like writhing beetles and centipedes across the parchment. That, or he found himself reading along for some time, only to end up forgetting everything he'd just read so he'd have to start over.

His eyelids felt like they weighed tons, and he struggled to keep them open long enough to even read a few sentences, and even then he struggled to read due to his eyes watering on top of everything else. He wound up spending almost an hour trying to read a single page, and only understood a fourth of it, the rest of it being a jumbled mess of information.

He didn't even hear the soft knock on his door some time later, nor the sound of it opening and someone stepping inside.

"Lo? It's almost lunch time," a familiar voice said behind him, the name of the person just on the tip of his tongue. "We missed you at breakfast -have you eaten yet today?"

" 'm not hungry." Logan said softly as he put his current paper down and picked up another one, but this one was just as bad as the others.
And he really wasn't hungry -in fact, his stomach almost churned at the thought of food at the moment, as if simply imagining eating anything made him want to throw up.

"Come on love, you missed dinner last night cause we couldn't wake you up, and you missed breakfast today, you gotta come eat some lunch." A hand was placed on his shoulder and Logan couldn't decided whether if felt gross and he should pull away, or if it felt nice and he should lean into it.

" 'have work to do," Logan said softly as he rubbed his face again. His eyes felt itchy, but he knew he probably shouldn't scratch them, even if he really wanted to.

"You can finish your work after lunch, okay love," the person said again, and Logan soon found himself behind pulled out of his chair, "just come eat something."

He didn't say anything, but didn't protest as the person gently pulled him out of his chair and towards the door. His body shuddered from the cold, or maybe it was from the underlying heat simmering just below his skin. Maybe he should take a bath? A cold one maybe?

"Logan? Are you feeling okay?"

A cold one sounded really nice, but so did a warm one...maybe he would take a warm one and stay inside it until it got cold?
Maybe he could take a nap while having his bath as well, yeah, that sounded nice.

"Woah Logan? Hey, you with me?"

Logan sluggishly peeled his eyes open -when had he closed them?

He hummed softly as he looked up at Patton -when had Patton gotten here?- from his spot on the floor. Oh, the floor was nice and cold on his skin, it felt nice...

"Hey heh what's wrong? Are you okay?"

A warm hand moved to cup his face, and he found himself frowning at the heat from the palm -that wasn't nice...

"Oh you're burning up," the voice said -who was it again?

"Hey, can you hel...I can't...on my own.....is room....get doct..."

Hmmmm
All the noise around him faded into a dull buzzing, like a bumble bee, and was actually kind of nice -calm and quite, consistent and numbing.
Maybe a nap would be good
Whatever he was laying on felt nice.....
What was he laying on again?
Maybe it'd be fine
Yeah
Yeah it'd be fine
Just a short nap
A short one
.
.
.

Logan felt heavy. His limbs felt like they were made from stone, unfeeling and impossibly hard to lift. His tongue lay heavy in his mouth, and his eyes seemed determined to remain shut.

There was a soft bumbling from somewhere, like a cicada -but why a cicada? There shouldn't be any at this time of year
Right?
What time of year was it again?
Maybe he could go looking for cicadas...

"You awake love?"

He managed to tilt his head towards the voice, a low hum escaping his chest as something brushed against his cheek.

"You with us Lo? Can you open your eyes for me darling?"

His eyes were closed?
Oh right
They were
Ha

Logan slowly dragged his eyes open, and watched as his vision swirled for a few seconds before settling into a fuzzy haze -where were his glasses?

"Oh, here love." Something cool was pushed onto his face, and everything quickly became clearer and sharper.

"Wha happened?" He asked softly, his voice nasally and slow.

"You're sick love, and passed out in the hallway when I tried to get you to go to lunch." Patton said from his spot sitting on the edge of the bed.

Logan hummed softly, "I don't feel sick -do I?"

"I'm pretty sure you're sick specs," Roman said, "so just take it easy and sleep for now okay -relax and rest up so you can get better soon."

"Oh no I can't do that," Logan said in the closest thing to a whine any of his boyfriends had ever heard from him, his face scrunching up a little, "I have work to do, I can't just leave it, then it won't get done."

"Your work will still be here when you're better," Virgil said, "now practice what you preach and get some more rest love, we'll be here if you need anything, ya hypocrite." He added with a fond smile that had Logan feeling all warm and fuzzy -in a good way.

Logan must have passed out soon after that, because the next time he woke up he didn't recall anymore conversation happening -though he could have just forgotten if they'd continued to talk or not.

He woke up on and off for the next couple days, staying awake in bouts of time ranging from five minutes, to a few hours. At least one of his boyfriends was always there, either sitting, reading, singing, sleeping, or taking care of him -although they wouldn't cuddle with him or let him give them kisses, which made him a bit upset on multiple occasions -he put up a small fuss when they'd come and told him the doctor said no close contact -anything more than helping him sit up or tucking him in, or something similar, wasn't allowed.

It took him roughly a week till he was at full health again, although he was much more lucid and himself after only a few days -but the others insisted he rest more, saying he should wait till he's fully better to prevent himself from getting sicker.

It was the first night when he'd been deemed no longer sick that he all but demanded that the others come and cuddle with him, the other three happily complying after the doctor gave them the OK.

They'd curled around him, Logan at the center with his boyfriends pressed in close. They were comfortable, and warm, and overall made him very sleepy.

"Next time tell us when you're sick okay? And don't try to do your work if you don't feel well." Roman said, his voice almost stern, yet still soft as he pressed kisses to Logan's temple.

"I suppose that might be a good idea." Logan said softly as he nuzzled his face up against Romans neck, closing his eyes contently.

Despite having been resting all week he still felt insanely tired at the moment, and was ready to just go to sleep.

"Roman and Patton, the two of you don't have any excuses now -if you feel sick at all you better tell someone or I will withhold all kisses and cuddling a for a week -after you've gotten better." Virgil said, "and that applies to you as well Logan,"

"Then it has to apply to you to, we gotta keep things fair."

"Obviously princy, I wasn't..."

Logan couldn't remember much after that, having finally drifted off to the sound of his boyfriends talking, contently slipping away.

Next time he'd make sure to tell them he was sick, he hated that he'd worried them.

Maybe he could convince them to stay in bed for longer tomorrow morning...

And there it is
I hate it
I genuinely dislike how this turned out. It's my least favorite chapter.
I had planned to make this go a bit differently
But I hate how it ended up.

Thanks for reading it tho

Feel free to comment any requests you may have (as many as you want, and you can be as descriptive or vague as you want)

There is smut in the next chapter, so be warned.
I will make another warning at the beginning of the next chapter as well.

Bye!!
