Logan was a forensic scientist, he deeply enjoyed testing for incriminating evidence much as Sherlock did.  Sherlock was the reason he got into forensic sciences.

One afternoon, Logan was on the site of a crime scene when a young man, seemingly close range in age to him, tapped him on the shoulder.

Logan turned off his knees and looked up to see that this young man looked awfully distressed, his glasses were broken and his clothes had an unknown dirty substance on them while his hair was out of place and the way his eyes begged for help...

Logan stood and took off his gloves as he placed his hand on the young man's shoulder. "Is everything alright, sir?"

The young man shook his head, it seemed he was hysterical as he grabbed Logan by the wrist and drug him across the street.

Logan was confused as to why he motioned for him instead of one of the officers on site.

Once they had made it to the young man's house, said man led Logan to the basement and that's where he saw everything.

There was a little boy dressed in black and purple that was locked in a cage with cuts and bruises and another boy, close in age to the other in a separate cage across the room.

Logan's heart sank as he rushed to unlock the cages but they wouldn't budge, he quickly looked around for something to break the lock and found a large stone. 

That being said, Logan picked up the stone and began to hit the stone off the lock in hopes of it breaking but in the midst of him breaking the lock, the captor had walked into the basement to see what all the ruckus was about and found Logan.

He immediately got furious and attacked Logan, causing said person to drop the stone.

Logan was a lanky and not that strong man but he fought as hard as he could for the three, he eventually got to where he could pick the stone up again and in doing so he hit the captor in the head with the stone and ran out with the boys.

Logan ran out basically screaming for help, he got the District Attorney's attention as they situated everything out and the captor had gotten arrested.

Years later, Logan had found himself with a boyfriend and two-possible kids... that is, if they ever got married.
