Happy birthday to the fun-loving, juvenile, dad-like character who kind of  claimed us all as his kiddos (which I am 100% on board with)

HE IS SO SWEET AND WHOLESOME AND ADORABLE AND I LOVE HIM WITH MY WHOLE BEING!!! Now, I'm really sorry if this isn't up to par with the previous ones, I wanted to get this out before the week ended. So enjoy this somewhat awful and slightly rushed oneshot.

What is the best gift? To some it would be an experience, and to others it would be an object. To Patton, the best gift he could've gotten for his birthday was his boyfriend, but sometimes there are gifts you don't get.

Patton's boyfriend, Roman, was a brilliant actor, on a stage or on a screen he would always nail his role, and he worked up quite the fanbase. Roman was in New York, filming a Percy Jackson show since the two movies didn't fare well with the PJO fanbase. It was, of course, a later season, possibly the third or fourth since Percy was older in those books, Patton wasn't sure. Roman fit Percy's role perfectly, the dark black hair and sea green eyes said it all. Patton once stayed a week over there with Roman, and the younger co-stars were adorable!

Now, enough about the show, the general thing I wanted to say was that it was Patton's birthday tomorrow and Roman was still going to be away. Virgil and Logan, Patton's friends and roommates, told him to not worry about it, Roman will probably show up the next day.

"Yeah, you're right!" Patton instantly cheered up, but he couldn't smile away the lingering pain in his heart. Patton spent the whole day with the two of them, trying to not feel upset that one of his favorite people in the world wasn't there with him.

Patton woke up the next day smiling, he got up, got dressed, and walked into the living room where Logan and Virgil were waiting for him with a lot of presents, there was even a really big box. Logan and Virgil informed him that he should open that one last, so Patton teared open every other present despite the incredible urge to open the big one. Patton got a lot of Disney stuff; a Jiminy Cricket hat and cane, light blue Mickey Mouse ears, a Simba stuffed animal, a cute Olaf hat, and a ton more. Patton also got a few cookie ingredient jars and a new scrap book that Logan totally didn't give him because he secretly didn't love to look through them. Virgil looked down at his phone when he heard the familiar 'ding' of a message, he smirked and put it away.

"Okay, I think we should take Grey for a W A L K first." Virgil spelled out 'walk' because if he says it out loud than Grey will go nuts. Oh, did I forget to mention their furry friend? Well, Grey is their Husky that Virgil brought with him when he decided to room with Patton and Logan, he was only six months old at that time. Virgil got a look from Logan and another text, he smirked at both.

"Okay, Pat, you can open your big present now." Virgil didn't have to repeat himself, Patton tore the wrapping paper off the box and opened it. He became very confused when he saw a sandwich bag full of paper squares that had letters on them on top of a bunch of packing peanuts, Patton dumped them all out and his eyes widened in realization that it was a puzzle. It took him a few minutes to figure out the words, but when he did a huge smile appeared on his face.

"We're going to Disney World!?" Patton screeched in excitement, "Thank you guys!!! We're going to have so much fun there, we'll ride so many roller coasters and I'll get pictures with all the princesses and princes! This will be so awesome!!" Patton cheered.

"Did someone say prince?" Patton's eyes widened at the voice and he turned around to see Roman standing in the box in his princely outfit and doing his pose.

"Roman!" Patton cheered and jumped on him in a tackle-hug, Roman held onto him and hugged him. Tears formed in Patton's eyes, he was so happy, first the news of Disney and now Roman showed up when he said he'd still be shooting the show.

"I love you so much, and don't ever again make me think you won't make it on my birthday!" Patton somewhat scolded Roman, but he was smiling and wiping away tears in his eyes only for more to come.

"I'll never miss a birthday Cookie, and I love you too." Roman says, beaming at Patton and vice versa. From Virgil and Logan's perspective, both their smiles could rival each other's. Grey, upon first seeing Roman, was running around the box and barking happily, wanting to get in and perhaps eat some of the packing peanuts. Roman also had his own Mickey ears atop his head, they looked like his princely outfit.

"Ro," Patton giggled, "you got some of the things in your hair." Roman dropped Patton into the box (gently) and ran to the bathroom.

"I just did my hair perfectly this morning!" All three of them heard Roman whine, Virgil snickered into his hand.

It was night, Patton was lying with Roman, who is the big spoon, both of them were content. Roman craned his neck down and gave feather-light kisses on Patton's neck, the tickling feeling caused Patton to quietly laugh.

"What was the best gift?" Roman asked.

"If I'm being honest, it was the new scrapbook Logan got me." Patton said, looking back and giving Roman a cheeky smile. Roman gave Patton a knowing smirk and Patton's eyes widened as he felt Roman's hands move to his sides, there was no warning, Roman just attacked his sides. Patton squirmed and erupted into laughter, trying to get away.

"What was the best gift?" Roman asked again, letting a few chuckles slip out because Patton's laughter was contagious.

"Y-you!" Patton yelled in between laughter.

"And what am I to you?" Roman continued to tease Patton.

"Th-the grea-atest bo-boyfriend in the-hahahahaha-world!" Patton shrieked, that was good enough for Roman. He stopped and let Patton catch his breath before bringing him into a sweet kiss, Patton hummed in contempt.

"That's right I am." Roman says after he broke the kiss, Patton cuddled into him and Roman wrapped his arms around his cute boyfriend, Patton really enjoyed moments like these. The two of them fell asleep, cuddled up against each other and relishing the company.

So, yeah, your favorite gift could be an object, or an experience, but no gift compares to the gifts that are your true friends.

I'M SO SORRY THIS IS LATE!! AAAAAUUUGG!!! I didn't even know, I haven't checked the birthday dates in a while, also I was more focused on my best friend's birthday really (her and Patton share the same birthday, she was pretty happy about that) and the energy draining midterms that are nEXT WEEK!! I hate school. Also, if Patton were to find out what time I finished this then he will physically fight me, so shhhhh, he doesn't need to know.

Anyway, two messages. Message 1: HAPPY BIRTHDAY PATTON!!! Message 2. Your friends and (if you have one) your significant other are some of the greatest gifts you could get, so cherish the people in your life - unless they're greedy SOBs, and if that's the case then cut them off. Aaaand that's all I got! *slowly backs away with finger guns* Anyway, apologies again for this being super late, but hey, at least I did it.
