Deceit had the perfect set up to get the heroes in the spot needed for the plan to take place: Deceit and Remy would be suspiciously lurking on the rooftops, catching the heroes attention, and then, once the glass was close enough, they will drain the heroes powers, one by one. The glass, in question, was resting in Deceit's clenched, gloved fist. It was clear, looking like a normal shard from a window pane, but it has a slight silver glow and a sense of power that draws you closer to it. Logic was the first target, seeing as he could copy anyone's power within a 20 foot radius, then the only real threat was Princey.
"Deceit! What do you think you're doing up here?" Speaking of the noble hero, he, Logic, and Morality were standing on the other side of the roof in an aggressive stance.
"Oh, come now," Deceit turns around, a smirk playing at his lips, "can't a villain just hang around on a rooftop to enjoy the view?" Remy was at his side and it became a stand off, three heroes, two villains.
"Yeah, right! What are you up to?" Princey presses, not believing Deceit. Good, he shouldn't.
"Well, we've caught your attention to nicely ask for you to return what's ours. Give us back Anxiety, and we'll leave without a fight." Deceit lied, it was his nature to make the lies he tells sound like truths.
———————————————————
It was Patton who noticed the villains close to their apartment. All four of them were on the couch, Virgil had fallen asleep and they were also going to call it a night when Patton noticed Deceit and Sleep.
"Are you sure we should leave Virgil alone?" Roman asked, not suspicious, but worried about the chance that Virgil might have a panic attack in their absence. What's the point of being a hero, Roman asks himself, if I can't save someone I care about that's right here? Patton and Logan gave each other a look, then looked at Roman, then Virgil.
"He will be fine, Roman. We'll finish up and be back before he notices that we're gone, if he wakes up." Logan reassures Roman in the most emotional way he can, and added a peck on the cheek for good measure. In truth, Logan wanted to get out there and get the villains away from his home and family.
"Okay. Yeah, okay. Yeah, you're right." Roman's repeating his words, he must be really nervous about leaving Virgil if he's doing that. Patton took ahold of Roman's hand and squeezes it, saying that they should get moving.
They got into their superhero outfits and made themselves known once they reached the building Deceit and Sleep were on, and now we're at the part where Deceit asked for Virgil.
"Ha! As if! He doesn't want to go back! He's perfectly happy with us!" Roman barked. None of the heroes wanted to give up the anxious little Virgil they've come to have feelings for.
"That's not the answer we wanted at all." Deceit tisked at the heroes.
————————————————————
That was the answer Deceit got, and he didn't like it. Who are they to say what Virgil wants? Who are they to decide if he stays or goes? Most importantly, who are they to decide if Virgil's happy? Deceit charged at the heroes, aiming for Logic. Deceit almost got close enough to Logic for the glass to do it's magic, Remus informed him that the maximum distance was six feet, but the quick and calculating hero used Deceit's own power on him. Deceit couldn't move. Logic forced him to his knees and stood in front of Deceit, triumphant. Well, until Remy nailed all three of them with a dumpster, the hit sent them two rooftops away.
————————————————————
(There's going to be a lot of switching back and forth, I'm sorry)
"Logan? Are you alright?" Patton was the first up and moving, and no matter how many times they say not to do it, Patton still uses their actual names in intense situations.
"Why didn't you phase through?" Logan asked him.
"I was caught off guard. I thought Princey had it under control. Why didn't you?" Patton fired back.
"I've said this before, I can only duplicate one person's powers at a time." Logan said, they were so distracted talking they didn't notice Roman had stood up and was glaring at the approaching villains. Patton and Logan finally realized Roman was there when he was standing his ground in front of them, they also realized the villains had made their way over. Logan and Patton stood behind Roman, ready to back him up.
"I yelled out a warning." Roman muttered to them over his shoulder.
"Well sorry. I was a little busy with the main villain. You know, the one that poses a threat!" Logan snarled, Roman was about to shoot back, but Deceit spoke.
"It's clear you guys aren't done with whatever that is. Let's get on with this." Deceit mocked, throwing his head back and groaning in annoyance. Then got back into his usual brooding posture and was staring directly at Logan.
"Shut up you snake!" Roman snarled, getting into more of a fighting stance. He has to protect his loves, the amazing nerd, the lovable, bubbly, dad-like sunshine, and the little anxious fluff he hopes is safe at their home.
"Hmmm, well, I suppose we'll just start with you instead." Deceit smugly stated, then he whips out this glass shard that's in his fist and points it at Roman.
"Haha! You're joking, right? What's a tiny little piece of glass going to do to me?" Roman laughed, but Logan was getting a bad feeling in his stomach. Something wasn't right.
"Rewop ekat ot." Deceit hissed like the snake he is and Logan knew he had to put a stop to it, but before he could, Deceit stepped closer to the three of them and pointed it at Logan instead of Roman. The pain was excruciating. Logan was the one on the ground this time, tears sprung in his eyes. It felt like his insides were being taken out of him while still attached to his body and being beaten, even though Logan would probably pass out from the blood loss if he hasn't died yet when they cut him open. But Logan wasn't cut open. There was a scream somewhere, Logan found it was coming from him. The pain finally ended and Logan was left panting and resisting the urge to curl in on himself, he saw the end of a glowing white string being sucked into the glass. The glass was no longer clear, but swirling with glowing white light.
"What-" Logan nearly chokes from the pain and soreness he's feeling everywhere, "what did you do to me?" Logan breaths out, his tear filled eyes blurred his vision slightly. Roman and Patton were frozen, watching on in horror as one of their loves was suffering. They didn't know what to do, but they were soon distracted with Sleep.
"Oh, well I just simply said a small incantation and just let this little thing do it's magic. You don't feel empty, do you? Like a piece of you isn't missing?" Logan had to think over what Deceit said, he knows Deceit speaks in some form of lies, and he shortly figured out what Deceit meant. Logan did feel that. He felt like something that defined him was gone, as if he didn't know who he was or what his purpose was again. It's like finding himself all over.
"Well, I just took away your ability and now you're powerless. That means I can do this." Deceit taking over Logan's body is like...well, like Logan can't control himself. His muscles would tense up and Logan could only watch what he was doing. Deceit made Logan walk over the the edge of the building, look at the dizzying drop below him. Logan felt his heart rate speed up, which is caused by the massive stress and fear Logan is feeling at the moment.
————————————————————
Patton snapped out of his horrified state and walked up behind Deceit, since Roman could handle Sleep by himself, and punched the side of his head, making Deceit loose his hold on Logan. Logan jumped away from the edge as Deceit turned around to face Patton, a cut on the side of his face was bleeding.
"I didn't underestimate you, you hit hard." Deceit wipes some of the blood that started dripping down to his chin. Deceit pointed the glass towards Patton and started hissing the incantation, but when he finished Patton phased through the roof and landed on the floor below him. Wait! He can't leave Roman and Logan up there! With Logan still getting over the pain, Deceit and Remy still having their powers, Roman is in major trouble.
"I have to get up there." Patton mumbles, then proceeded to run all the way down the hall to the stairs that led to the roof. It was not a pretty sight once he burst through the door.
————————————————————
Logan was sneaking up behind Deceit as he said the incantation that made the supernatural glass draw out and absorb their power, trying to help Patton. Logan was relieved that Patton phased through the roof, now was the perfect opportunity to catch Deceit off guard and forcefully take the glass away from him.
Logan jumped onto Deceit. Literally. Logan was reaching for the glass as Deceit was spinning around and trying to throw the hero off him, Deceit caught one of Logan's clinging arms and flipped him over his shoulder. Logan didn't hit the ground, in mid-air, quickly calculating the chances of his move working, Logan wrapped his legs around Deceit's head and used his weight and strength to flip him. Logan was up on his feet while Deceit rolled onto his side and picked himself up, hiding the pain pretty well.
"This was an expensive suit!" Deceit hissed. Whoops, Logan accidentally ripped the suit.
"I'll make you pay for this by putting your head on a platter!" Deceit charged Logan, he was swift and his movements were smooth, but Logan was quick and calculating. Logan ducked Deceit's punch and nailed him in the gut, then punched Deceit's face and stepped back. In a blind rage, Deceit charged at Logan again, he deciphered that Deceit was aiming for his abdomen, but Logan was wrong to assume it was a blind rage. As Logan stepped to the right, he was right where Deceit wanted him to be. Deceit swiftly exposed the glass and cut Logan along the side, the cut was deep and heavily bleeding within a second, it didn't take long for the pain to hit.
A moment of hot searing pain flashed through Logan before the chemicals in his body numbed the pain and Logan examined it. The cut wasn't deep enough for him to bleed out, pass out from blood loss, or see his intestines spilling out from his side, but it would need stitches and he will loose enough blood for him to get seriously disoriented. He looked over to Roman to find that he pinned Sleep down, things were sort of going their way now. Until Deceit punched him in the face, Logan was glad he put contacts in, and now a cut on his lower lip started stinging, making it a little difficult to concentrate on fighting Deceit.
You may be asking what Patton saw, well, I'll explain it to you. You see, dear readers, when Roman looked up from his thrilling struggle with Sleep and saw Logan in that state, he made the mistake of loosening his grip on Sleep's hands. So, Sleep threw Roman off him and was burying Roman's body in the bricks that he got from the building over, they were just sitting there in a pile, might as well make them useful and kill a hero. That is when Patton burst through the door.
————————————————————
Deceit thought he shouldn't really worry about him, Remy had Princey right where Deceit wanted him. Deceit abandoned fighting Logic for now and stalked over to the hero in the spandex suit, who was struggling under the immense force Remy was using to keep him down. It was clear Logic was trying to keep him away with how much he was trying to get Deceit to fight him again, how sweet. They must really care for one another. Logic's attempts were weak and futile, Deceit was starting to get annoyed and pushed the dark-blue clad hero down, making him yell in pain as he landed on the scratch.
"Are you alright?" Deceit heard Morality ask, and he assumed Morality also rushed to Logic's side. Deceit herd Logic tell something to the healer, but he couldn't be bothered to find out what, besides, Deceit's got a hero to drain. He stood right over the struggling Princey, then crouched down to whisper in his ear.
"So much for a tiny little piece of glass, huh?" Deceit smirked, "You never stay still long enough for me to tell you, but you shouldn't wander around in that tight spandex suit of yours. It's too tempting, almost convincing me to let you live." He saw Princey shiver and squirm in discomfort, struggling more, making this more enjoyable for both villains.
"No?" Deceit asked with a fake pout, "that's such a shame. You can win them all, I suppose. But this time, we did win them all." Deceit stood up and took out the glass, but before he could start speaking, Morality tackled both him and Remy. Remy lost his hold on Roman and both of them held down the villains. The heroes bound Remy's hands in a way that makes Remy unable to levitate any object and crush the heroes, Deceit's hands were just tied behind his back.
————————————————————
The three heroes walked the two villains back to the rooftop they were previously on, prepared to leave them there and return home. Deceit had noticed how Princey kept glancing at a specific apartment, almost worried about something, or someone. As cunning as Deceit was...that's it. Deceit's cunning and put two and two together; he figured out where the heroes live and where they're keeping Virgil.
Deceit looked back a Princey from the corner of his eye and willed the hero to untie him, Deceit now had his hands back. He rubbed his wrists for a second, feeling a bit sore from having the rope around them, then turned around and held both Morality and Logic in place as Princey untied Remy. Remy wrapped the rope around both Morality and Logic, Deceit still holding them in place, and they weren't given a second thought as Remy took over holding Princey in place so Deceit could take his power.
————————————————————
The incantation was said and Patton and Logan could only watch as a shining red light made it's way from Roman to the glass, which now had shining red and white light swirling around in it. Roman grunted in pain, clenching his teeth, but when his powers left him he felt weak. He collapsed to the cement and both villains were standing over him, like hungry vultures who've found their next dying meal.
The rope slipped off since Sleep never really tied it and both Logan and Patton charged the heroes, each wanting to protect the other two. Logan took Deceit while Patton was grappling with Sleep to a distance where he had to fight Patton in hand-to-hand combat and not use his powers. Logan was heavily panting, he estimated that he lost around a liter of blood, it wasn't deemed a fatal amount, but being in combat won't help. The blood flow has significantly slowed, but Logan was also slowed by the soreness coming from the cut and the throbbing from where Deceit punched his face.
Sleep couldn't get a hit on Patton because Patton would either dodge his hand or it would phase through him, and Patton managed to get a few good hits on him. On a particularly good hit to the side of the head, Sleep was down. Patton ran over to Roman to check if he was okay.
"I'm fine," Roman panted, "it's just seriously sore." Patton didn't see Sleep loom over him, but Roman did. He pushed Patton out of the way and Roman took the kick to the side, it sent him skidding a few feet away. Patton couldn't worry about Roman because Sleep started attacking him, dodging was all Patton could do because he couldn't find an opening.
————————————————————
The silence was nice to Virgil, he was getting his breathing under control as he thought about the three men who helped him. They'd done so much for him, he couldn't really remember a time anyone would do that for him. They made him feel loved. Loved. Virgil felt heat rising to his face. Do they like Virgil like that? Would they even want him in their relationship? Virgil thought that maybe he should keep this to himself, he was always anxious, he doesn't want to be a burden more than he already is.
Virgil heard a loud noise as glass was sprayed everywhere, a person had crushed the table. Virgil turned on the lights and rushed to their side, he found out it was Logic. Logic's attire was basically a dark blue jumpsuit and the pant legs were tucked into black boots, Virgil turned Logic over to see that his mask, which was a plain black one, was off and was horrified to find it was Logan. The high school science teacher, who was boyfriends with an actor and daycare teacher, who had helped take care of Virgil, was Logic. The one Virgil's fought for a year.
Virgil didn't have time to worry about Logan being his sworn enemy because he was hurt, badly. Virgil picked him up and moved him to the couch, trying to think of something to do to help him. That large cut in his side wasn't good, it needs medical attention immediately. But Virgil wasn't a doctor, hell, he's not even trained for this sort of thing! He patches up the suits, not the person. It couldn't be that different, right?
Virgil didn't have any time to do anything because two more people crashed through the same broken window. Virgil could easily tell the one surrounding the other was Princey, which, by order of elimination, meant that the person Princey was covering was Morality. Virgil always is reluctant to fight him, he's always so sweet. Virgil would be more horrified than shocked if Princey was Roman and Morality was Patton. It was silent for a minute, how no one wakes up from this makes Virgil astounded at how many heavy sleepers there are, before Virgil turned to find Deceit and Sleep at the broken window.
Deceit smirked down at Virgil upon seeing him.
"I was wondering when I'd see you again. You had us so worried." Deceit said, Virgil slowly stood. He had to think of something, the heroes he had come to love are down, damaged by Deceit and Sleep.
"Had to get their trust, right?" Play along. That's all Virgil could do.
"Good to see your motives never changed. How about you do the honors of taking Morality's powers?" Deceit handed Virgil a glass that had red and white light swirling in it, he could only guess that Roman and Logan don't have their powers. Patton was shifting out from under Roman, who was panting in pain. Patton helped Roman stand while he leaned against the wall, Patton's hands had small cuts on them as well as his face, probably from the glass, and his knuckles were bruised. Roman looked physically weak and exhausted, but he was holding his upper right arm in pain.
"Virgil...You need..you need to go. Don't worry about us." Patton panted.
"Go on Virgil, do it." Virgil looked away from Patton and turned to Deceit, who spoke to him in a strict, ordering voice, and nodded. Virgil turned back to Patton and Roman, turning his straight face to a determined one. He almost flinched when he saw the hurt look Patton and Roman were giving him, he couldn't blame them. Their hearts have shattered because they found out that Virgil played them, Roman accepted him and he was betraying them, starting by hurting Patton. Virgil turned back to Deceit.
"Do I just point it at Morality, or..." Virgil trailed off, Deceit sighed and rolled his eyes.
"The incantation is: rewop ekat ot. Don't break it." Deceit hissed, Virgil nodded and turned back to the two standing heroes.
Patton was light headed. After all this time Virgil was just playing him. How long has he remembered? How much of their bonding was a lie? Patton had tears running down his cheeks, but his face was void of emotion.
Virgil almost broke character once he looked back at Patton. He seemed empty, not bothering to try and fight, he was broken. Virgil broke Patton. Tears quickly blurred Virgil's vision, guilt eating at him, but he was desperate to find a way to get his family away from the two of them. Deceit said don't break it, could that be how Logan and Roman get their powers back? It was worth a shot.
"What are you doing?" Deceit asked as he watched Virgil place the glass on the floor. Virgil said nothing, ignoring Deceit's cries, he stomped the glass. The force sent a wave of power out, Virgil flew back and crashed into the wall, Patton and Roman fell back, Deceit and Sleep were sent out the window, and Logan was still on the couch. The two lights of power were sent back to their respective hero, Roman immediately felt stronger while Logan woke up. Virgil was slowly getting up, cations of the heroes because he acted like he betrayed them and broke Patton.
Patton, after healing Logan and Roman, had rushed over to Virgil and engulfed him in a hug.
"You had me there for a minute, kiddo. Heh, glad it was an act." Patton told Virgil, who relaxed at Patton's words and hugged him back.
"And a very believable one too. Have you ever thought of acting?" Virgil heard Roman boom, and laughed in relief that they didn't think ill of him.
"How lovely." They heard a deep, suave voice croon. They turned to find Deceit and Sleep at the broken window again, turns out Sleep held them both up before they hit the ground.
"It's over Deceit. You can't fight all four of us, go home." Virgil calmly ordered, but he felt immense anger at the two villains.
"Fine," Deceit spat, "just know that things are going to be very different the next time we meet." Both of the villains fled, leaving a mess behind.
"How are we going to explain this?" Patton asked, looking at the mess. Roman groaned in annoyance, knowing that the rent bill is going to go up because of this.
"We could just say that someone threw a brick, the damage isn't that far off." Logan said. Turns out they were moved to a new apartment due to Virgil staying with them, and Virgil was actually glad he didn't have to sleep on the couch anymore.
Virgil had taken Roman up on the acting and he was pretty good-no, better than that-Virgil made the audience feel like the stage wasn't there, like they were part of the show too. Virgil and Roman would do shows together and Patton and Logan would always come to them, seeing the little anxious stormcloud so happy made them fall harder for him.
Believe it or not, Logan was the one who asked Virgil if he wanted to be part of their relationship. Virgil's heart swelled with joy as he realized they returned his feelings, he said yes. The villains have suspiciously disappeared, but after a few days the heroes decided it was for the best it stayed that way, more cuddle time for them. Virgil couldn't have been happier that him falling off a roof led to this; three loving boyfriends who care about him, who will always love him no matter what, and who don't let Virgil's past change their opinion of him.

......wow. I have no words for how long this is.
Bonus!!(lol!)
"Roman!? C'mon out kiddo! You've been in there for three days straight!" Roman heard Patton yell from the other side of his locked door. Had it really been three days? Roman had been writing this for three days? He was ashamed it took him so long to finish.
"Coming Patton!" Roman called, making sure to publish it before heading out to get lectured by Virgil, Logan, and Patton. They only want what's best for Roman, also a Side that stays in his room too long could negatively affect Thomas.
"I'm sorry for worrying you all." Roman murmurs, then gave each of his boyfriends a kiss; Patton on the nose, Logan on the cheek, and Virgil on the forehead.
"Yeah, yeah, you're forgiven." Virgil says, rolling his eyes, but smiling at his sappy boyfriend. Roman was glad for all of them, they all kept him grounded. Roman couldn't have asked for better people, because there are none like them. They all loved each other, and that's what's important.
Love is love, you can't change that. You can have feelings for others despite their past, despite peer prejudice, and that's alright. Love who you want to love, don't give into society's judgement and be what they say you are or have feelings for who they say you should. Hope you liked how I ended this!
A big thank you to my friend (you know who you are) for helping me with some of this. So thank you!!
Love you all~
