Patton was excited for his dinner date with his...wonderful boyfriend. Sure, he didn't pick Patton up, or tell Patton that he was gonna be-Patton looked at his phone for the time-twenty minutes late. Patton and him really needed this, ever since Patton's SO had gotten a new job he's been spending less and less time with Patton and more and more time there.

"Are you ready to order?" The waitress came and asked for the third time. Patton's heart hurt as he realized that his boyfriend wasn't coming, his face burned as he was getting sympathetic stares from the waitress and people around him. Just as Patton was going to apologize for wasting everyone's time, eyes watering, a man Patton's never seen before sat in front of him.

"Sorry I'm late babe, my asshole of a boss kept me late." The man said, the waitress went away to give them both some time to decide on what to order. He was pretty handsome, he had a nice black jacket on and kind, dark brown eyes

"I'm Remy, hon. Go with it, whoever stood you up doesn't deserve you." Remy whispers to Patton, Patton's heart swelled with great-fullness.

"Thanks. How do you know I'm gay?" Patton asked, Remy held up his wrist that had a pansexual bracelet on.

"I have a killer gaydar. Plus, your bracelet on your wrist." Remy smiled at Patton, who looked down at his wrist to see his bracelet. Patton looked up at Remy and smiled at him.

"So, what's your choice hon?" Remy laced his fingers together and rested his chin on them, giving Patton a loving look. Patton gave Remy a smile, his cheeks heated up as his heart started to feel fluttery, he hasn't felt this way in a while. Patton and Remy ate dinner together, talking and laughing. When the check came Patton was about to get out his card to pay when Remy placed down a bunch of cash.

"It's on me." Remy declares.

"Oh, you really don't have to-" Patton began, only to be interrupted by Remy.

"I was late, I'm paying." Remy insisted. Patton was very reluctant to let him pay, Remy was the one who saved him from embarrassment. Once they were outside Patton turned to Remy.

"Thank you so much. I don't know how to repay you." Patton looked down at his feet, half embarrassed that he was in that situation in the first place and half ashamed that he really had no idea how to repay Remy. Remy places his hand under Patton's chin and lifted Patton's face so that they were staring into each other's eyes.

"Well, since this wasn't planned, how about a real date?" Patton wanted to say yes, so badly. But what about his boyfriend? Patton is loyal to him, he's not a cheater. Even though the surprise date was better than the date that would've happened if Patton's boyfriend actually showed up.

"I'm sorry, I can't. I have a boyfriend that was supposed to show." Patton said with remorse, he really did enjoy Remy's company on that surprise date though.

"If he stood up the cutest person on the planet, then he doesn't deserve you. Here, have my number if you need a friend to talk to or a place to stay." Remy handed Patton a slip of paper with his number on it and Patton thanked him, then they went their separate ways.

(Warning: sad Patton and mentions of cheating as well as breaking up)

Patton sat on the couch and waited for his boyfriend to come home, he's been sitting there and waiting for three hours. He knows his boyfriend had a day off, that's why they planned the dinner date. Patton's boyfriend said he had to do a bit of shopping in the afternoon and he'd meet Patton at dinner, Patton's eyes watered as he remembered that he never came, then he started to feel a fluttery feeling in his chest when he thought of Remy saving him.

Patton was brought out of his thoughts when his boyfriend came through the door, the sight of him made Patton angry, Patton pushed his angry feeling down and plastered a smile on his face. Patton's boyfriend smiled when he saw Patton and brought Patton into a hug, but when he came close Patton saw that his lips were swollen and he spotted a bit of a bruise on his boyfriend's neck. Patton didn't hug back when his boyfriend wrapped his arms around Patton, a flaring anger rose in Patton's chest and Patton didn't bother to push it down.

"So you stood me up for another guy?" Patton asked, his voice cold and his hands formed into shaking fists.

"What? No! Why would I do that to you, baby?" He denied.

"Because I don't give you what you want. That's why! Isn't it? You aren't satisfied with me, so you decide to go to someone who will! How could I have been so stupid? That's why you come home late from work! Am I right?" Patton yelled, his vision was blurred as tears filled his eyes and streamed down his cheeks. His boyfriend dropped his shocked face and glared at Patton.

"You always get what you want from me; cuddling, small kisses that never amount to anything. Why couldn't I get what I want from you? You're so childish, all the time. When will you learn to grow up and get on your knees?" Patton was taken aback by his aggressiveness, tears stung his eyes.

"If you weren't happy with me why didn't you say something?" Patton weakly asked, looking away from the man that used to harbor his heart.

"Because you wouldn't understand, you never do!" As Patton's boyfriend continued to yell at Patton and go on about how childish he was, the paper that's lying in Patton's back pocket made its way into Patton's mind. Maybe Remy was right. Maybe he should listen to his friend, Virgil, and get out of this toxic relationship.

"I'm leaving." Patton mumbled, that made his boyfriend stop his rant and ask Patton to repeat himself, "I said 'I'm leaving'. We're done." Patton firmly stated, he was still crying as he went into his bedroom and packed his stuff. He walked out of the apartment and got into his car with his stuff, he took the slip of paper out of his pocket and typed in the number.

Patton: It's me, Patton. Do you mind if I stay for a few days?

Remy: Why? Did something happen? Are you alright?

Patton smiled at Remy's worry for him, he cared.

Patton: I'm fine. I just need a friend.

Remy sent Patton his address and Patton was soon in his driveway. Patton had made sure he looked happy and walked up to Remy's door, he didn't even get to knock because the door was swung open and Patton was brought into a comforting hug.

"Oh, hon, you are not fine. I already got a tub of ice cream out, the couch is filled with blankets and pillows, and there are a bunch of Disney movies to watch." Patton was soon cuddling with Remy and watch Anastasia, the ice cream was finished and they were enjoying each other's company. Patton looked up at Remy, which gained Remy's attention and made him look down at Patton. Their eyes were locked, Patton's amazing baby-blue eyes with Remy's dark brown ones. Patton blushed and looked away, making Remy gush aloud at how adorable he was.

"But seriously, what's wrong hon?" Remy asked, genuinely concerned for the cute, dad-like man the was cuddled into his side.

"Nothing. I was just wondering..." Patton was starting to get nervous. Was he going too fast? He just broke up with his boyfriend of 2 years, but that didn't seem to affect Patton at all. He wasn't upset, or pinning, or crawling back to him. The truth was, Patton had lost the love he shared with his boyfriend a while ago. Maybe this was the right thing. Maybe...

"I was just wondering if the offer of a date with you is still up?" Patton looked up at Remy with a small smile, his cheeks turning red. Remy said nothing for a second, then leaned down till his lips were hovered over Patton's. Their breaths mingled as Remy waited for Patton's consent, Patton nodded his head slightly and connected their lips. It was a short kiss, but sweet and nice.

"Does that answer your question?" Remy asked after they pulled away from each other. Needless to say, they had their real date, and many more after Patton's friends interrogated Remy. They got married, adopted a kid, and never stopped loving each other.
