Happy Birthday Remus!! CreativeTwins

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR FAVORITE TRASH MAN!! Honestly, Thomas did such an amazing job at representing intrusive thoughts, and I'm pretty sure a lot of us suffer from it. So DWIT really helped me know that they're just horrible things that go through my head, they don't mean anything. And let me tell you, I panicked so much when Remus first popped up, but by the end I loved him as much as I love the other sides.

SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY REMUS!! (Photos and amazing art are not mine)

Warning: badly written angst and I guess badly described horror things

Little Roman and Remus were on an adventure, going through the forest that they conjured in the imagination, they were walking side by side in perfect sync. Remus wore what was once a white t-shirt, now permanently stained brown from playing in the mud, and some gray shorts and sneakers, he had a missing tooth, having accidentally knocked it out when he and Roman went on an adventure in the mountains. Roman was more polished, he wore a red t-shirt and some brown shorts, but he did have a scratch on the side of his face and multiple on his arms and legs from when he and Remus climbed through thorn bushes.

"Think we'll find anything dead?" Remus asked excitedly, Roman turned to him with matching excitement.

"Or dangerous?" He asked, then both their faces light up.

"Or both?!" They spoke at the same time, it was like they could read each other's minds. Then the forest got dark, despite it being almost midday, fog rolled over the ground so thick they could barely see their feet. Roman got out his sword and shield and Remus got out his club with nails on the end, prepared to fight whatever enemy was coming their way. The two young sides saw the first few figures through the fog, they were slow and their skin was rotting along with their teeth, some had bones and flesh showing in places and some were missing limbs. With the brother's infinite power in the imagination, not to mention it's stronger since they're kids, sometimes they unintentionally summon things by thinking alike. So, the brothers had summoned zombies, and not just a few, more were sure to come. Remus felt something grab his leg and he let out a small scream because the zombie had no legs and managed to sneak up and slightly scare him, then he smashed the zombies head with a grunt.

"Do you have my back?" Remus asked, Roman looks at him from over his shoulder and looked Remus in the eye.

"Always, brother." And with that they both set off in different directions, slashing left and right, killing the zombies. After a while both brothers were back to back again, another horde of zombies surrounding them. Both were out of breath and filthy, dirt and zombie juices were splattered here and there.

"I think we may have *huff* we may have gone a bit overboard, brother." Roman says, Remus nodded in agreement, then they both thought really hard. In a second the warmth of the sun was back on them and they could hear birds again, the zombies and fog were gone, the brothers were still covered in dirt and zombie juices though.

"Eugh! I'm filthy!" Remus laughed at Roman's complaining.

"Come on, brother! Think of it as a trophy of our victory!" Remus cheered, Roman snapped his fingers and they were clean, "uugh, you're no fun!" Remus whines, looking down at his zombie juice and dirt free body.

"Yes I am!" Roman defended himself, it turned into a back and forth argument of "am not"s and "are too"s before Roman suggested they play in the lake. Remus grinned at the suggestion, then both boys ran from the path. The lake, in question, had half of it crystal clear with fish in it and the other half was swamp-like with frogs and snakes, separated by a dam of sticks. Remus immediately jumped into the swamp part, coming up covered in mud and weeds, then a frog landed on his head. Roman just floated on his side, the fish swimming under and around him, not at all bothered by his presence. When Roman passed their dam, Remus decided to jump on him, submerging Roman for a few seconds and dirtying the water around them.

"Remus! You gotta clean yourself off before coming onto my side!" Roman whined, brushing his hair from his eyes and snapping his fingers to clear his side.

"Oh, but it's such fun to rile you up brother!" Remus giggles, Roman tried to stay mad, but he ended up smiling back at his brother.

————————————————————————

Remus woke up in his bed, Janus was knocking on his door. There was no smiling Roman, there was no going into the imagination together and fighting monsters side by side, not anymore. Remus put on a smile and went out to the kitchen, where Janus made him a cake out of his deodorant and topped it with bugs. Remus just grabbed a handful and started eating it.

"Thanks Janus!" Remus smiles, Janus gives him a smile back.

"You're welcome, Remus. Happy birthday." Janus says, Remus wasn't able to respond due to him stuffing his face. Janus shook his head with a small smile and walked away, letting Remus go at his cake. Remus stopped eating and sat down once Janus left, letting another memory take over.

————————————————————————

"Remus! Do you know what day it is?" Roman asked, jumping onto Remus' bed, the other brother was already awake.

"Why what day is that, dear brother?" Remus asked with mock confusion, but a smile appeared on his face when he saw Roman's widen.

"It's our birthday!" Roman cheered, Remus threw the covers off him and the pajama clad brothers made their way to the living room where Morality was waiting with a smile, Deceit and Paranoia were slightly smiling while Logic just nodded in acknowledgement. Even though they weren't exactly twins, Roman and Remus wanted to celebrate their birthdays on the same day. Morality presented them with a cake and everyone sang happy birthday - Logic just spoke the song - and then everyone dug into the cake. Remus and Roman opened their presents, each got a new weapon and began to play fight each other with them.

————————————————————————

Remus walked out of the kitchen, not really hungry for his cake anymore, but something else. Janus was on the couch waiting, a few presents for Remus in front of him.

"I hadn't taken up crocheting recently, so I didn't think you would like something like this." Janus thrusted a small box into Remus' hands, he seemed nervous on what Remus would think of his handmade gift. Janus obviously hides that he's nervous, but Remus has been around him for a long time and knows all of Janus' nervous habits, like examining and fiddling with his gloves while looking like he doesn't care, which is what he's doing right now. Remus opens the box to find a small, crocheted green octopus with black button eyes, the eight little tentacles were moveable, and the underside was a lighter green.

"Oohh! I love him, Janus!" Remus brought him into a hug repeating his thanks, Remus could feel Janus relax as the lying side hugged him back.

"Well, I'm glad." Janus honestly told Remus, then the morbid side moved onto the other presents. No doubt that Roman got a lot.

————————————————————————

"No! You can't take him away!" Roman sobbed, he was held back by Morality as Deceit was dragging away a crying Remus. Both creativities were struggling and reaching for each other, neither wanted to be apart from one another.

"It's for Thomas' own good." Morality said, trying to make Roman understand why they had to be seperated. It was the same reason why Janus and Paranoia had to be seperated with Remus as well, for Thomas' sake.

"I don't wanna go! Please don't make me go!" Remus sobbed over and over, Roman was also pleading for them to stay together. Eventually both were out of each other's sights, Remus was trying to fight his way back, angry at practically everyone, and Roman didn't come out of his room for weeks, feeling the exact same anger.

Once they got over the anger, then came the longing, the hope that they'll see each other soon. But soon never came, and once it did, it was too late.

————————————————————————

Remus was in his side of the imagination, skipping along the path happy as can be through his dark forest. Then he came to his castle. It had vines going up it, the stone walls were cracked, and the inside was worse, cobwebs, mold, and bugs and rats everywhere. Just how Remus liked it. He lounged in his rusted and chewed throne, anything demented that came to him he would just yell out and it would echo through the empty castle, then he'd laugh.

"My lord." Remus grinned at the upside down tan-skinned woman standing in front of him, he twisted himself rightside up and got in another comfortable position.

"Hey there, DW." He greeted back. The woman, or the Dragon-Witch, was wearing a crimson floor-length robe and a classic witch hat. She had fangs but other than that there were no other dragon features on her human form, her dragon form was massive. She had dark gray scales that are very tough to pierce, long, sharp horns and claws, her wings were over half the size of Remus' large throne room, and she can spit out blue fire.

"You have been gone for quite some time." She spoke, and she was right. Remus hadn't stepped foot on his side of the imagination in a few weeks, he was pretty busy with other things.

"Yeah, well, I had other things to do." Remus shrugged, "Think you could torment Roman? I need some entertainment." The Dragon-Witch smirked in response, then walked outside with Remus close behind her. She transformed into her dragon form, then took off with a roar. Remus strolled down to the border in between his side and Roman's side to watch. Of course Roman was so valliant it was boring, Remus quickly lost interest and went wandering back into his dark forest. The Dragon-Witch sensed he left and flew away from Roman, going back to Remus' side to look for him. Remus stopped walking when he heard a thundering crash behind him, the ground shook under him for a few seconds, but he remained perfectly still, he turned around after a few seconds to face the slightly angry woman.

"What the hell!? You send me after that pompous prince and you don't even stay to watch? You hate his guts-"

"I never said that." Remus growled, interrupting her, his eyes flashed green with his pupil dilated for a second, but this didn't phase DW and she continued.

"-I thought you'd like to see him get knocked down a peg." She finished, Remus huffed and turned away from her.

"Just go and do something, I don't care." He waved a hand dismissing her, Remus didn't see the concerned look DW gave him, but she had no choice but to obey his order.

"Of course, My Lord." She bowed to Remus, even though he was walking away from her, and she walked in the opposite direction. Remus aimlessly wandered around, not having a specific destination in mind.

————————————————————————

It's been years since Morality and Deceit separated Roman and Remus, and that day Deceit finally allowed Remus to go back into the Imagination. Being an aspect of Creativity and not being able to go into the Imagination was unknowingly taking a toll on Remus, which Deceit caught almost too late. But now Remus was breathing the air of the Imagination, it's sad that he forgot about how good it felt. Remus immediately started to create things, he felt so free being able to create again, and he'll admit it caused a lot of chaos, but it was beautiful. But all of a sudden everything went back to normal. Remus looked around confused, until he saw Roman. Remus was overjoyed to be reunited with his brother after so many years, but his smile fell when he saw that Roman didn't seem as happy as him.

"You can't just come in here and destroy everything!" Roman yelled, "This is my territory!" Remus was taken aback. Was Roman not happy to see him?

"Brother, it's our territory. Don't you remember all the things we created together?" Remus asked in a soft voice, Roman rolled his eyes.

"Of course I do, but things change. Thomas is older and it's my job to protect him from Dark Sides like you." This has got to be a sick joke, right? Roman can't be serious. He can't be! Roman hasn't seen Remus in years, he had to have missed Remus as much as he missed Roman.

"What?" Remus croaks out, not believing this.

"You can make your territory, but after that you don't set foot on mine. I don't want it to be tainted with evil filth like you." Remus flinched at the words. He's been called filthy before, jokingly by Anxiety (once Paranoia) and Deceit, but not in this way, and he's never been called evil.

"But I - ...I thought..." Remus choked out, a lump forming in his throat. He looked at the ground, not wanting Roman to see the tears forming in his eyes, Roman lets out a sigh.

"Listen, I want things to go back to the way they were as well, but we can't or it'll hurt Thomas. It's best if we just stay seperate." Roman says, Remus hugs himself. He had such high hopes coming here, Remus thought he'd be able to create anything he wanted, Roman right next to him. He thought they'd play together, he thought they'd always be next to each other, brothers to the end.

"So everything we've done together - every adventure we've had together, does that mean nothing to you? Has that counted at all? Or am I the expendable Creativity?" Remus growled, he was almost tipping over the edge. So many things have happened to him, he was taken from Roman, he has been denied his purpose and role as the other Creativity, has been denied access to the Imagination, and now Roman was saying that they shouldn't interact in the Imagination like they used to.

————————————————————————

Remus found himself standing on the borderline again, the one between his and Roman's lands. He doesn't remember going in this direction, he specifically remembers walking away from practically everyone. He was about to turn away when he saw Roman approaching.

"Ugh, great." Remus says, disgusted and already annoyed, "And what did I do to have the noble Prince Roman grace my disgustingly evil self with his presence?" He asked, doing a mocking bow, Roman rolls his eyes.

"Don't make me regret coming here, brother. You must be really off if Megara came to me for help." Roman examined Remus, who cursed out the Dragon-Witch for going to Roman.

"As if you care, brother." Remus spat out the word like it was a slur.

"But I do. She told me you didn't even stick around for three seconds while she tormented me." Roman says, reaching out to Remus, but he shoved Roman's hand off his shoulder.

"Oh, now you do. As if that makes up for the past, for what I went through on my own, and once I finally saw you again you tossed me to the side as well." Remus saw Roman's face, the shock and guilt was evident, Remus laughed at that.

"Yeah, you remember? And then my filthy Dark Side self put you in your place after that. If I'm an evil Duke I might as well play the role to the best of my abilities." Remus grins, but then it dropped to a sneer, "If you came here to try and manipulate me by our already severed brotherly bond, you can forget it." Remus turns away from Roman, but he caught Remus' arm.

"Please, wait." Remus turns around with a disgruntled face, but the mask almost shattered at seeing actual tears in Roman's eyes.

"I don't want to manipulate you. I -" Roman swallows, "- I want my brother again. And I know I hurt you, all those years ago, but I was so confused on right and wrong. Ever since we've separated I felt like something was missing, and that feeling only grew after our huge fight." Then, to Remus' astonishment and slight horror, Roman got on his knees and began begging, "Please, brother, I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but I don't know what to do with myself and I need you back." Roman starts to cry, Remus bent down and gathered Roman in his arms before the prince could fully fall to the floor. Roman sobbed into Remus' shoulder as Remus just sat there hugging him.

————————————————————————

Remus woke up with rubble surrounding him. What happened? He looked around and saw Roman lying a few feet away, he looked badly injured, Remus shuffled over on his hands and knees and turned Roman over. Roman was awake, he pushed Remus off him and stood on his own, backing away from Remus.

"You stay away from me, Dark Side." Roman growls, Remus was just more confused.

"Brother? It's me, Remus. What happened?" Roman gave him a disbelieving look.

"You don't remember? Your eyes were glowing green and your pupils dilated, you were mad. You started to attack me and then destroyed everything. You destroyed it all!" Roman screams at him, Remus looks around, scared. He did this? Maybe Roman was right to call him evil, after all he only comes up with things related to villains. Remus ran. He ran and he didn't stop till he was deep within the forest. Evil doesn't mix with good, he probably was always going to come out this way. As Remus thought about this, crying and laughing, the forest grew dark around him, a castle rose up from the ground and loomed behind him. This was his territory now, his own half of the Imagination to wreak havoc on.

————————————————————————

Roman finally calms down, and now he was just sitting there with Remus hugging him.

"Feel better?" Remus asks, Roman nods. He pulls away from Remus and the both of them stand up, Roman pulls Remus to his side, crossing the borderline, and has Remus tail him through the beautiful forest.

"I had been meaning to give you this for a few birthdays now, but I didn't know how to talk to you again." Roman says, in the middle of the path they were walking was the gift.

"Flowers?" Remus asked, not really knowing how to react to something pleasant. The flowers were white and drooped downwards, looking like little bells.

"Not just any flowers, these are called Lily of the Valley, and eating it can cause vomiting and dizziness and all that gross stuff you love so much." Remus looked at the flowers again with a newfound excitement, he brought Roman into a hug.

"Oooh! These are perfect! Thanks Roman!" Then Remus let go, picked up the flower pot, and walked back to his side of the Imagination. There was a new warmth inside both of them, and both Roman and Remus will find themselves closer than before.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this, and another happy birthday to Remus!! I still can't get over how much I love all the characters and I thank Joan for encouraging Thomas to do the DWIT video and introducing Remus' character.

Also, happy birthday to my little sister as well, she's turning 13 today. So her and Remus share the same birthday, which I'm a little jealous of.

I really got nothing else to say, so have a good day/night everyone!!

Love you all~
