"Good morning, Patton."

Patton blinks sleepily, a hazy figure coming into focus before him. He fumbles for his glasses on the table, murmuring, "thank you" when he feels Logan slip them into his hands. He yawns and sits up.

Seated on the bed beside him, Logan brings a mug of tea to his lips and takes a sip. He doesn't smile, but his eyes gleam with amusement.

"What's up, Lo?" Patton asks, rubbing his eyes.

"Do you remember what day it is?"

"Mm..." Patton thinks long and hard. "St. Patrick's Day is next month, right?"

Logan chuckles. "Yes, Pat."

"Then today is..." Patton's eyes fly open. "Valentine's Day! Oh my gosh, I completely forgot, Logan, I'm so sorry, I'll-"

"Hey, hey," Logan interrupts, placing his hands gently on Patton's chest. "Don't worry. I've got it covered this year."

"You... what?"

"Come into the kitchen and find out," Logan teases. He rises from the bed and eases the door shut behind him, leaving Patton to get dressed in private.

When Patton steps into the kitchen, his eyes go wide.

Logan has laid out two plates on the table. Each one has a heart-shaped pancake in the center, and little red and white heart sprinkles coat the syrup. Logan flips another pancake, smiling at Patton's reaction.

"I've never baked without you before," Logan says bashfully, lowering his gaze. "I hope this is okay."

"Okay?" Patton lunges forward and wraps Logan in a hug. "Lo, it's amazing! Thank you so much!"

"Pat-!"

Logan's elbow collides with the bowl of flour on the counter, and it topples off and hits the ground. A great plume of white powder billows into the air, sending both of them into a fit of coughing.

Once the dust clears, Patton wipes his glasses and finds himself nose-to-nose with Logan, kneeling on the floor, both caked with sticky flour. The kitchen is a nightmare of white.

"It looks like we killed a snowman," Logan whispers, eyes blown wide with shock.

Patton tips back his head and dissolves into giggles. After a moment, Logan joins in, then both of them are laughing uproariously and hugging in the pile of flour. Patton presses a kiss to Logan's nose. Logan ruffles his hair and sends flour stirring up around them again.

"The pancakes!" Patton exclaims suddenly. He turns to the table, where their breakfast is coated in flour.

"It's okay," Logan says. "We can make more." He smiles and kisses Patton's cheek. "Happy Valentine's Day, my love. Even if we ruined the kitchen."

"Even if we ruined the kitchen," Patton agrees. He buries his face in Logan's white shoulder. "I love you, Lo."

"I love you too."

"Now let's clean this place up before Roman and Virgil get here. I'll get the dustpan, you get the broom?"

"Because you want to make me do the hard work?" Logan teases. He taps Patton's nose once, causing the other to giggle in delight.

"... maybe."
