Virgil didn't know how he had finally managed to force himself to do this. But somehow he had coaxed Roman, Logan, and Patton to sit on the couch, and now they were waiting for him to speak and let them know why he had dragged them away from whatever thing they'd been doing that was probably more important than listening to Virgil confess his stupid feelings.

He wouldn't say it was courage or optimism about the other sides reciprocating his feelings that had brought him here, more like weeks of hiding his feelings and panicking about it had brought Virgil to the point where he had to tell them so he wouldn't drive himself absolutely insane with anxiety and worry.

No, he had to get this out with so that they could all reject him and then he could hide away and finally get over his feelings when he knew he had no chance with them while they hopefully wouldn't be too uncomfortable around Virgil afterwards.

He had heard that it was easier to get over someone after actually getting rejected, then his brain might not keep hoping he had a change with them (which he didn't even think in the first place, but he was willing to try anything). Virgil had decided this was what he had to do.

He paced slightly, feeling the other's eyes on him and he tried his very best to remember what he had spent days deciding to say. He stopped, staring at his hands which were fiddling with the zipper of his hoodie, taking a deep breath. He really did not want to be there right now.

"I- I like you, all of you." He finally forced out, trying to take a slow breath but not entirely sure he was really breathing at all. He glanced up quickly.

"Aww, we like you too Vergie!" Patton said with a beaming smile which only made Virgil's dread grow stronger. God, why was this so difficult?

"No- no, not... I mean, I like you all, like- like romantically, and I'm sorry, I just need you all to actually give me a no so I can just get over you and stop panicking about it!" He said, having used his rip-off-the-bandage technique, and he was met with absolute silence.

If anyone were to drop a pin Virgil was sure he would have heard it as clear as he was currently hearing his own heartbeats.

He dared to look up at them, which might have been a mistake, because they all stared at him in shock, making him feel a nauseating wave of anxiety. Why was he so awkward and stupid and annoying, and why, why, had he confessed to them?

Immediate regret. Was this really worth getting over them? Maybe going insane had been a better option to go with.

"I'm sorry, I should have just shut up, you don't need to know my stupid feelings, I shouldn't have told you, I-" He babbled, so very close to stumbling over his words and oh so close to fleeing the room to find somewhere dark and quiet to possibly have an anxiety attack.

Right now he couldn't remember in the least why he had forced himself to do this, because anything would be better than the embarrassment and anxiety he was feeling right now.

But then Patton bounced up from the couch with a huge smile that almost made Virgil feel a little better. Before Virgil knew it Patton had his arms around him tightly and maybe even reassuringly. Virgil was so tense his body ached.

"I love you too, Vergie!" He said, the words loud and clear in the silence and Virgil's brain couldn't quite register the words or their meanings and he stood frozen in Patton's arms until he took a step back.

"I love you, all of you." Patton looked back at the others, still sitting on the couch, as frozen as Virgil.

"Like- like- like, romantically?" Virgil said faintly, not trusting at all that this was really happening or that his brain wasn't making this up or making him misunderstand what Patton meant.

"Yes, Vee." Patton said softly, his fingers carefully entwining with Virgil's and he felt like he could actually take a breath. Patton turned towards the others, his grip to Virgil's hand enough to keep him grounded enough not to panic as much. Roman had started grinning now too, shaking his hands excitedly, stimming happily, Virgil realized and felt a fond ache in his chest.

"Yes, yes! I love you all too, oh, I'm so happy! I really didn't think-" He cut himself off with a happy little laugh before calming himself down and turning towards Logan, who still hadn't said anything and hadn't moved.

Oh god, Virgil shouldn't be this nervous. Two of his crushes had said they liked him back and he almost felt greedy for how much he wished Logan would too, but god, Virgil liked him so much more than he would ever want to admit. He liked them all so much and he never thought those feelings would be reciprocated in the least.

With all their eyes on him Logan's cheeks grew slightly pink and his fingers nervously pulled on the fabric of his tie.

"I do enjoy the company of you all very much and I have been examining my feelings for you all a lot lately. I am fairly sure that my feelings are indeed of the romantic kind, especially as the reveal that you all return those feelings makes me incredibly happy. I just want you all to know that I cannot promise I know how to handle those feelings well at all or know how to, um, 'do' a romantic relationship." He rambled and Virgil felt so happy and relieved that the contrast of these feelings compared to the anxiety he'd just been feeling almost left him feeling dizzy.

Roman immediately pulled Logan into a hug, pressing a kiss to his temple and making Logan's blush deepen by several shades.

"We won't force you into anything you're not comfortable with, Logan." Patton said softly and Virgil nodded dumbly, still not entirely sure this whole thing was real. Maybe this was a dream, a hallucination. Hell, he'd never hallucinated before, but maybe today was the day?

"Yeah, Lo, it's fine. I don't know any of that stuff either. We'll just have to figure out what we're okay with, I guess." He said, voice much more shaky than he would have liked it to be. Patton walked towards the couch, pulling Virgil with him and they sat down together with Logan and Roman.

"So, what does this mean, are we boyfriends now?" Roman asked, looking absolutely delighted at the possibility.

"I'd love that." Patton said with barely controlled joy.

"Yes, I would not mind that." Logan said and Virgil nodded, which was all he could do for now. Not even when imagining confessing to the others had he ever thought this would be the outcome. Sure, he had daydreamed about a relationship with the others when he couldn't help it, but it had never felt realistic.

"I guess we're boyfriends then!" Roman's grin might have just been one of the most beautiful things Virgil had seen. Not that he'd let that slip. He smiled to himself, nuzzling his face against Patton's shoulder, sighing and letting his eyes slip shut for just a second or two.

"You okay there, Vergie?" Patton said, his free hand that wasn't still holding onto Virgil coming up to stroke his cheek affectionately.

"I'm fine, just tired, very tired." Virgil admitted. Now that the adrenaline rush and the anxiety had gone away he felt exhausted.

"It's likely a result of your earlier level of anxiety subsiding, nothing to really worry about. Just make sure to take it easy." Logan said, smiling a sincere and sweet smile towards Virgil.

"Aw, stay here with us then, Vee, get some rest. Unless you'd rather be alone." Patton said, and while Virgil was feeling embarrassed about the fact that they'd all been sharing their feelings to each other (hiding in his room sounded nice) he shook his head, content with staying where he was (staying here sounded even nicer).

And maybe Virgil was a little scared that if he went and took a nap in his own room then he would wake up and this would all have been some stupid dream that would leave him feeling so very sad.

"Yeah, I'll stay." He said, sitting up, smiling as he tried to really comprehend the fact that not only were the others not disgusted by the fact that Virgil loved them, they even returned those feelings. It was a bit too much, almost.

None of them seemed to really know what to do, if they should be acting any different because they were now suddenly boyfriends, but they all seemed so relieved to know they didn't have to go around worrying about their feelings (Virgil most of all) that the atmosphere seemed calm and happy and it didn't really matter.

Roman and Logan ended up leaving for a moment to make them all tea, during which Patton laid down on the couch and held his arms out to invite. Virgil to cuddle with him and despite how flustered and nervous that made Virgil he couldn't say no to an offer that seemed too good to be true.

When the other two came back they found Virgil lying cuddled up with Patton, and at this point he was half asleep, barely aware of the others as they sat down with them, Roman saying something no doubt sappy. Virgil was vaguely aware of someone slowly rubbing his back, a kiss being pressed to his head.

Virgil was soon asleep, feeling much more content and relaxed than he had in who knows how long.
