Virgil X Patton

It cut off a little of the prompt and I didn't realize it until after I had closed the tab.

Virgil was on the couch in the mindscape, drawing in his sketchpad.

"Hey, Kiddo!"

Virgil winced and looked up, "Hi Patton."

"Watchya drawin'?"

He lifted up his artwork for the fatherly side to see. It was a basic sketch of a sunset, with a single tree that had a rope swing from it.

"Oooh. I like it."

"Thanks." He continued the leaves that had been lightly scattered throughout the foreground.

"Can you draw me?"

Virgil flinched at the sudden noise. He had thought Patton had left.

He sighed, "You are the only person I won't punch for asking me that. So yes. I will."

"Yay!" Patton jumped over the back of the couch to sit next to Virgil.

And so Virgil started to sketch the basic shape of the fatherly side to start drawing.

Patton's Pov

"Why?" Patton suddenly asked the small, anxious side.

"Hmm?"

"Why am I the only person you wouldn't punch? I mean, why don't you want to draw the others?"

"Because you're the most beautiful," Virgil mumbled, as he continued drawing.

"What was that?" Patton asked even though he thought he heard what Vee had said.

"W-well, I guess it's 'cause your the most bearable." Virge stuttered.

"Oh," he said sadly, "Thanks, I guess." He was wrong. Maybe it really was just father-son love.

Virgil's POV

"Here you go." Virgil tore out the page and handed it to Patton.

"Wow! You're really good! How did you get so good?" Patton said as his eyes quickly scanned the image.

"I just practiced a lot."

"What did you practice drawing?"

I drew a bunch of pictures of you. They're taped underneath my bed. He wanted to say, but instead, he just said, "Mostly the night sky," I drew your face into a sea of stars, "Random objects," The friendship bracelet you made me last year, "Words." Your name, over and over again, like a birdsong, "Random people I thought up," they all looked a little like you.

"Cool!" But as Patton said it, Virgil could tell he was lacking his usual enthusiasm.

"You okay Pat?"

"I'm fine ki-kiddo!"

"Now I know something's wrong Dad." Virgil winced as he said that, but he wanted Patton to be happy, and that meant he had to play the part of his 'kiddo'.

"No, I'm alright. I'm just gonna go talk to Logan. I just remembered I was supposed to have one of those 'meetings' with him." He got up and walked off, accidentally leaving the drawing behind.

Virgil frowned, did he not want the picture?

He grabbed it and ran off to Logan's room to look for his 'Dad'.

He shuddered. Even thinking about Patton being his Dad made him upset.

Patton's POV

"I just don't know what to do Logan!"

"I would just confront him about my feelings."

"Says the one who said, 'thank you' when Remus asked him out!"

Logan raised an eyebrow, "I thought we agreed not to bring that up? And anyway, it was only because I really thought that he was going to reject me, so my mind was made up that I would tell him and get over those, 'feelings'" he grimaced at the word as if it were a poison, "But he startled me when he confronted me with his feelings."

"I know. I just- I don't know! I'm not supposed to be in love with him! I'm supposed to be his Dad!"

"You don't have to be," The door creaked open to reveal Virgil holding a paper that had been torn out of his sketchbook, and Patton froze, "My Dad I mean, you don't have to be my Dad," He held out the paper to Patton, "You forgot this."

"I- umm- well I-" Patton looked to Logan for help who just smirked and walked out of the room to leave Patton and Virgil to sort out how they were feeling.

They just stood there, an awkward silence settled over the room.

You could hear Logan talking to Remus in the hallway, and suddenly the demented figure shouted, "Are they finally gonna f*ck?"

You could hear Roman and Deceit's laughter fill the mind-palace.
