Sanders Sides x Percy Jackson AU

The picture at the top is not mine, none of them are, and it does not really go with the au. I just thought it was cute.

Okay, so this chapter is basically just going to be me laying down the idea while also putting in some of the scenes in it that I have thought out. The bolder words are the idea, and the unboxed are the scenes.

This is going to be kind of told form Roman's perspective, just because the reader won't know anything Roman doesn't.

Also, this has spoilers for the Hero's of Olympus series. I have finished Burning Maze and am just starting Tyrants tomb, so no spoilers in the comments please. I also won't spoil anything from that series.

This is set years after all the books.

Let's get into it!

TW: Lots of death and angst, a bitch like Octavian, insanity, mourning, uncensored cursing (obviously and mostly from me), my sh*tty writing, and me not really knowing how to write Talyn.

Tell me if there are more I should add.

Roman Alevros, Son of Apollo, walked backwards out of the Senate House, chatting tiredly with his friends as flickers of candlelight caught in his golden-brown hair.

Patton Polaris, son of Venus, followed. His only slightly prominent cheekbones leading to an anime-esque jawline really threw people off as soon as he opened his mouth. In actuality, he was a soft puffball that would panic if you asked him to hurt even a fly. Flys didn't deserve it.

Beside him was Logan Daios, son of Vulcan, twisting a small red crystal around in his hands like putty. His curly blond hair, that he worked so hard to smooth in the mornings, had fluffed out after so many hours.

"Sirs!" A breathless voice called out, followed by a short person in the traditional armor of the lookouts. They're colorful hair stuck to their head with sweat and a helmet was tucked under their arm.

"What is it, Talyn?" Roman asked, suppressing a yawn. (That made me yawn, geez.)

"Te-Termin- Give me a second," Talyn put their hands on their knees and panted for a moment, before standing up with another deep breath and saying, "Terminus popped up and told me a child had entered camp. Around 12 or 13. He was very stubborn, apparently. Black hair and a black hoodie with purple patches. Pale."

This news prompted the three too snap a bit out of their tired daze. "Where did he go?" Logan asked. "Why was he even let in?"

Talyn just shrugged. "I mean, Terminus did say something about the boy seeming... damaged. Maybe he felt bad?"

Patton nodded and said, "Okay. Well, why don't you just go get some sleep? We'll deal with this, and it looks like you need the rest."

Talyn nodded, a heavy tiredness seeming to fall on their shoulders, then walked away, presumably to do exactly as Patton had said. Patton was okay with charmspeak, and it seemed he had accidentally used it here.

Because I'm too lazy to write it, they look all over ruby can't find him. They're about to give up and go to sleep, cause it's almost midnight, when they try just one last theater. They're walking onto the stage.

"Hey, Roman?" Patton asked, and Roman looked over at him. "Was hat do you think Talyn, or Terminus, I guess, meant by, 'damaged'?"

Roman opened his mouth to speak, when a voice sounded from me of the balconies. "Roman Alevros, son of Marie Alevros and Apollo?"

They all spun towards the noise, to find a short, human like, shadow peeking leaning into the wall of the balcony nearest to the rest of the theater and making it so only about half of his body was visible. A black hoodie with purple patches and seen with white string hung shamelessly from his frame, just as Talyn had described. His face was shielded in shadow, but  Roman thought he caught a glimpse of pale skin.

Roman stepped forward a bit, watching the shadow warily, and said, "Yes? Who are you?"

In response, the shadow threw something towards Roman and he jumped forward to catch it, getting it just before it hit the hard wood of the stage.

Logan and Patton slowly approaches behind him, and they all peered are the strange necklace in his hand.

It seemed to be a simple by leather band hung with five beads and a silver pendant. The first bead, going left to right, was a gold sheep. The second, an orange baby. Next was half of a blue surfboard. After that, a pure white snowflake. Last, a plain heart.

But the pendant in the center... It was a thick silver circle, with lots thinner lines running around it. An emerald sat in the very center.

It was the exact shape of Roman's, which currently hung from a thin gold chain around his neck. The only difference was that Roman's was made of ruby and silver. This was his brother's pendant. Remus'.

Remus... They were twins, yes, but it... had gotten dangerous for them to be around each other. Especially after their mother died... So they were each sent to a camp after a year in the orphanage. Roman to Camp Jupiter and Remus to... What was it? Camp Half-blood?

But why was it here? Why did that boy have it? Speaking of- Roman's head snapped up, towards the balcony. The boy was gone.

So then they actually find our boi Virgil, who they learn is a son of Thanatos (Greek god of Death, Roman equivalent is Mors.)

He won't tell them why he's there, what happened, about the necklace, nothing. They do know that his nightmares aren't al prophetic and he has major PTSD and anxiety and that he's from Camp Half Blood. He refuses to wear the Roman stuff, though he does participate in activities, and just has an overall hatred for most things Roman.

He also blew up in the Oracle, but they don't know what about.

Come to a couple years late, Virge is a bit more comfortable with the Roman's. He also finally concedes and agrees to take the trio (Roman's one of the Preators btw.)

This is where the warnings really come in. Don't read this if you are sensitive to any of the things mentioned.

They fight some monsters and stuff along the way, the usual. (Virgil's weapon is a scythe that springs from the silver bracelet he has.)

Then, they get there. Virgil tells them to never ever go past the barrier he put up around the Hera cabin and to not go in the attic of the Big House.

No one is there. A layer of dust seemed to have settled over the camp, though it is otherwise pristine.

Yada yada yada, about a day later the Roman's demand an explanation, because they have to go back soon and they haven't learned anything except that the camp is basically abandoned.

Virgil sighs and leads them up to the attic, where they find that all of the old stuff that used to be there has been moved and hundreds of little boxes of all shapes, sizes, and types are there. They're stacked and all around the floor, with little walkways everywhere. Each is labeled with the name of a camper, a dryad, or a satyr, and with that specification.

On if the one's in the front, which seems to be the box for a portable stereo, is in the front labeled 'Chiron'.

One next to it is a small wooden box with snakes carved in it labeled 'Deceit'. (In this au, they're a Demi boy and that is their preferred name.) They are also a son of Styx.

Next to that is a large burned up match box of with 'Remus' in sharpie on the front.

Virgil says, "...We sent messages. So many messages, begging for help. Why didn't you come?"

Keep in mind, Virgil is 13. He's about to cry and facing away from everyone. Patton's sobbing, and Logan's trying to comfort him while tears slip down his face. Roman's crying and trying to say that they didn't get any messages.

After they all calmed down, Virgil explained that he didn't know where else to put their ashes, so that's why they're in random boxes. The boxes weren't really random though, because he chose ones that the being had/liked.

He said that the campers had pissed off the only half-blood daughter of Hera (who was super powerful and born off of Hera's last straw broken with Zeus and some interference from Aphrodite.)

She was kind of crazy too, from her own power, which was to make people actually insane, like Hera did to Heracles and Dionysus' peeps. She got really mad at everyone because of the typical pranks from the Ares cabin, and so made all of said cabin and the two bordering it (Apollo and Poseidon (of which there was only a baby cyclops who usually stayed with others but didn't that night)) basically insane. This included Remus.

They killed a lot of people, and dryads, and satyrs. The Hera child also sometimes gave little zaps of insanity to other people, so that added to the problem.

Eventually, everyone died or killed themselves after realizing what they'd done.

Everyone, except Virgil. Because Virgil had tried to be nice to the Hera child. She kind of watched and made sure he didn't die. Afterwards, she licked herself in the Hera cabin, and no matter how many times V tried it get in, he couldn't.

He also found that past a certain point around her cabin she would hiss at him. He eventually sat up a simple rope barrier where she began to his and went about the process of cleaning the camp and doing burial rituals for everyone to keep busy.

Once he was done, he just couldn't stay there anymore so left to go to Camp Jupiter.

He hated it because he thought they'd ignored CHB's messages, when really they didn't get them/ they guy receiving most of them forgot about/ignored them.

Roman broke into the Hera cabin in his rage and found the girl dead form dehydration.

If you really wanted to make this fluffier, you could take back some of the last bits and say that CHB had bothered Hades so much that he let them back up, but I feel like that makes even less sense that what I already had.

More info on Remus based off a head cannon about dark half-bloods that I saw and forgot the maker of: He is what you'd call a dark half-blood, which means he has what are considered the scarier/worse powers. He's also super powerful. He can scream/song loud enough to break glass/eardrums within about a half-mile radius. He doesn't sing much because he's afraid of doing this. He also is able to light his arrows on fire and blind people.

And about Virgil: As a son of Thanatos, he can see dead peoples spirits. He also grows translucent wings that he can use to fly when he's worked up enough. He can also revive things if he really really tries.

Deceit: Can sense people breaking promises, and holds everyone to the smallest ones. He can make people's broken promises kind of back fire on them/force someone to keep the promise. He can be super brutal.

They're all year rounders btw.

The beads of Remus' necklace: The gold sheep was for Virgil and Remus' first year, when Virgil accidentally animated the Golden Fleece with the spirit of a newly dead squirrel, so it basically ran around and climbed up trees while still maintaining its power. They had to eventually put a leash type thing on it after they got tired of keeping constant watch on it. But everyone one loves Daryl (the squirrels name, gotten from a satyr that was its friend before and after its death.

The orange baby was for the next summer when a satyr came to camp with an abandoned cyclops who had an orange eye. (Reference to the orange side.)

The half of the blue surf board is for when the camp tried a surf activity and the ocean animals there basically rioted. Especially after the Ares kids and a few others decided to start a splash war with powers.

The white snowflake was for when the weather shelter part of the border inverted and it snowed the entire summer just in CHB.

Lastly, the heart was for when Chiron half fell for someone that aim too lazy to come up with an the campers wouldn't let him live it down.

Anyway, I hope you liked my angsty au, and enjoy your day.

I love you all, and hope you know that you can always talk to me about anything. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Bye~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
