Under The Sea
A/N: So, it was never clarified if Patton was human or not so I was thinking...what if 'no' tho? Request: By Megastudio28. Sorry that it's quite short! Oh and also? :) You never said for sure that they would end up together in your request...

Under the surface of the ocean, a merman laid on a large rock, silent and thinking. His dark hair was moving with the water, his blue tail moving gently, and his glasses were made of sea glass. How mermaids and mermen could see through them was a mystery to the human world, but it may help to know that their species eyes were vaguely different from a humans.
The merman opened his eyes and looked above, focused on how the water moved and how the light shown thorough, the water getting darker the deeper you went. His peace was suddenly interrupted as a sudden blur flashed by, making him jump before glaring as the blur reappeared, only to stop in front of him. A fellow merman: a tail of blue, lighter than the one seated one the rock, chestnut hair, and similar glasses.
"Logan!" He cried while Logan let out an exasperated sigh, sitting up and curling his tail closer up to him, rubbing a hand down the smooth scales.
Logan raised an eyebrow at the other, "Patton, what are you doing?" The new merman, Patton, grinned before replying.
"I went to the surface and saw these humans- you know, the kind with feet!"
"Yes, Patton. I am aware of what humans look like. However, you are not supposed to go to the surface."
"Yeah yeah, so anyways," Logan rolled his eyes but listened. "They were moving around, dancing and singing! Not like a siren, though. Humans aren't good at singing apparently!" Patton let out a laugh, swimming closer to Logan who had let loose a small smile at the laugh. Patton grabbed some seaweed from beside Logan, making the latter curious as to what the merman was doing. Nice, Patton broke off a few pieces of coral and tied them to each peace of coral. He tied the seaweed around his waist, where his body became his tail, to seem as if he had (horribly incorrect) feet and legs.
"I was watching them dance and it looked so fun! Okay, so, the first one went sorta like..." Patton kept talking but by this point Logan wasn't listening. He wasn't being rude and trying to ignore him friend, he was just too caught up to really be listening. All he could focus on was how as Patton danced, moving around and swishing his tail in turns and spins, the light bounced around and shimmered from his scales casting a bit of a lovely shine on him. His hair floating around through the water, his eyes sparkling with happiness and a smile gracing his lips. Logan would go as far as to say he looked positively beautiful, something he would never say to anyone.
Logan blinked furiously to keep himself from thinking of scenarios that were 63% likely to never occur. He pushed himself off the rock and swam over to his friend, crossing his arms and trying to pay attention to the 'dances' but again becoming quickly distracted. Standing closer up, he was able to take in more details of the picture in front of him.
But this time, Patton noticed. Stopping, he turned to Logan and put his arms on his hips (A/N: do mermen even have 'hips' or is that part of the human structure not in them? Eh, lets just pretend they do) and cocked an eyebrow. "You're not paying attention." He stated matter of fact-ly. Logan met Patton's brown eyes and nodded.
"You are correct, I am not. Apologies." He responded sincerely, knowing how bothersome it was when you weren't listened to. He got a bit closer, biting his lip as he gently grabbed Patton's arms to guide him closer. Logan whispered, "But it's quite impossible for me to focus on words when you're there." Patton just stays in the spot, confused and not understanding.
Logan locks his eyes with Patton's and gives a small smile, not used to this sort of feeling. It was ruined as Patton responded, squinting in his confusion. "How?" Logan's smile dropped and he held back a groan as he realized just how dense his friend truly was. Looked like he would have to spell it out.
He leans in slowly to give Patton time to back out, figuring this would be a way to explain, but stopped when he was only about to meet Patton's lips with his. There wasn't consent and Patton honestly probably still did not understand, somehow.
"Patton, I like you. More so than platonically, I feel I should add." Logan stated, lifting his hand and holding the others chin. Patton gasps happily and beams, understanding now.
"I see you as a brother, too!" Logan tenses at the rejection, pulling away and easily swimming a bit farther back, only a foot or so, to add a bit of distance, feeling unsure of how to proceed. Patton grinned and swam closer to Logan. "Does this mean I can call you my brother now?" He asked in a teasing tone. Logan shook his head, pursing his lips and looking away.
A/N: So yeah, bit of a suck-y ending isn't it? I'm just kidding, that's not the end. Continue on, peasants.
Patton laughed and grabbed one of Logan's hands, intertwining their fingers much to the latter's surprise."I'm only kidding, Lo. I like you like that too." Logan blinks, his face flushing in relief and surprise, though there's a bit of embarrassment to it as well.
"Can I- uh, can we, ya know..." Patton trailed off, gesturing with his eyes to Logan's lips.
Logan froze. "I-I uh- um, you- we- uh- I can- you- y-yes," he stuttered, as Patton drew him in. He closes the gap between them carefully, making Logan let out a quiet, 'Mph-' out of pleasant surprise. They melted into the kiss, moving in sync before pulling away.
Patton smirked, leaning in so that his mouth was beside Logan's ear, sending shivers down Logan's spine as his mouth brushed him, as he murmured,
"Consent is a sexy bitch."
A/N: Okay, actually finished now. So anyways, I laughed at the last part for about 20 minutes, I just...I imagined our Canon!Patton saying it and *wheeze* so that's it. Although I myself don't like to curse, so it was honestly a bit hard to write that last part. And again, sorry for how short it is!
