Note: I'm not trying to make these long, sorry if they are.

--------------------

Janus was in his room, buried under a mountain of blankets. He felt safe and warm, and was just having a quiet, peaceful day. No one was there to bother him. It was just him, life and soft blankets.

But that got ruined quickly.

The door creaked open and someone whispered, "Janus, are you in here?" It was Patton. Patton and his bombarding scent. Ruining Janus' peace, how dare he?

Janus peaked out of his nest, not seen within. Patton stood beside the door, looking around, his tail drifting calmly, ears perked. Janus shuffled, the blankets moving with him, and Patton saw his yellow eyes. As Patton stepped forward, Janus hissed. That stopped Patton.

"Don' you come c'oseh." Janus mumbled groggily. The warmth had made him feel sleepy. Patton understood and nodded, turning to leave quietly, only to pause and grab something off of a chair. Janus didn't see what, he was too busy soaking up to the blankets and silence.

------

Patton had closed the door and was now grinning, pulling on Janus' hoodie. It was black with yellow stars decorating it, the words 'Be A Star And Ignore The Others' on the front and 'Every Star Explodes Eventually' on the back. Not exactly Pattons taste, but comfy nonetheless.

------

Virgil was in the living room with Roman, arguing about who was the best Disney villain. They were interrupted by Patton who came bouncing into the room, wearing a hoodie. Virgil raised an eyebrow, asking, "He let you wear that?" They already knew the answer. Patton had a record for borrowing everyone's hoodies. Patton smiled, outplaying the sun itself with the brightness of that smile.

"Janus is so cute! He's in his nest again!" Patton fanboyed, squealing slightly as he plopped down next to them. Roman nodded while Virgil tilted his head.

"Nest? I wasn't aware he was a bird." He said. Roman turned, face serious for once.

"Janus takes as many blankets as he can find and will make a mountain out of them, burrowing  init. He's done it for as long as we can remember, and something he hates others being around unless invited." Roman responded, shaking his head for some reason.

Patton grabbed a pillow and hugged it against his chest, watching the movie, which was Tangled. Roman leaned against the older who in return wrapped an arm around him. Virgil sat beside them, rocking gently from boredom. After a while of silence, he felt fur touch his arm. Looking, Patton had hit his tail against him and was watching him from the corner of his eye.

"You know," Patton whispered, Roman dozing off, "you should join Janus. I think he'll let you." Patton finished. Virgil furrowed his brows, not understanding. Hadn't they said that Janus hated being bothered when in his 'nest'? Knowing what Virgil was thinking, Patton explained.

"He does enjoy company, as long as there isn't any noise. He just needs warmth, for some reason. Since you're quieter and won't move around often, he'll accept it."

"you're forgetting that my skin is cold." Virgil reminded gently. Last thing he wanted was to cause Janjs to be annoyed with him. Even if only for a short period of time. Virgil shuddered, remembering last time those eyes had stared into his soul when he was irritated.

Patton let a smile cross over his face, "Yeah, but with all the blanket heat, even if he enjoys it, I'm sure he'll appreciate the difference in temperature." Another moment of silence goes by before Patton lit up. "See! I know big words too!"

Roman jerked up, head swinging back and forth and he yelled out, "I'm not going to vanquish this world of the grass!" Virgil snickered while Patton looked confused. Roman realized where he was and relaxed.

-------

Janus huffed when his door opened again. Peaking his head out once more, be was a little surprised to see Virgil. The emo Neko usually tried not to 'bother' people. Especially when anyone was having alone time. Janus relaxed again, knowing that Virgil wasn't going to purposely annoy him. But he still kept an eye watching.

Virgil sat down beside the pile of blankets, eyes resting on the ground, occasionally flickering up to meet Janus'  eyes. Janus was, to say, confused. He knew that the other Neko would have something he wanted to say, given reason for his anxious scent, far more than usual. With a deep inhale, Virgil mumbled out quietly,

"Could I join you?"

Janus blinked. This was what was causing all the anxiety? He knew that the others had most likely told him that Janus wouldn't want to be bothered, but when did he ever deny Virgil's presence? The darker one of the two had always been more intelligent and quieter, not annoying anyone often. Except for on the bad days.

Janus replied, "okay." quietly. Virgil relaxed and entered the nest, Janus having showed him the spot that lifted easily so that he could be beside Janus. When he was situated, Janus closed off most of the opening so that they were surrounded by only warmth and darkness. Which didn't scare off Virgil.

Virgil shifted over, against Janus in their small hole. Seeing that it was okay, he leaned his cold skin into Janus fully, the latter liking the coolness of him.

They moved a bit around so that they were still buried under but also curled up in it, cuddling as the others would say. They let their eyes close and both drifted off to sleep, purrs vibrating almost silently.

------

The others were all outside and waiting. It had been ten minutes and they opened the door soundlessly. Patton held back squeals when he saw two tails peaking out of the blankets, one dark gray and the other brindled. Everyone decided to lay ij the living room, watching movies and leaving the other two alone.

Any time Janus had his 'nesting' days, Virgil joined. Anytime Virgil needed solitude, he went to Janus. It was their system from that day onward.

------

Bonus:

Janus stood in front of Patton who was giggling. Virgil stood to the sides, smirking. "Give me my hoodie." Janus growled. Patton shooked his head, not wanting to say goodbye to the comfy. As Janus reached to grab him, Patton twisted around and ran. Janus followed, shouting,

"It's been four weeks!!" And they left Virgil alone.

Virgil rolled his eye, grabbing a blanket and heading to Janus' room. He figured Janus would want to have his mountain when he finally got his hoodie back. If he got it back, actually.
