Carsick ~ Prinxiety

I just want to clarify, the descriptions in the second part about the car sickness come from my own experiences. I can get seriously carsick, even on a thirty-minute drive, especially if I've eaten anything before-hand. Just to tell you how carsick I get, eight out of ten amount of time si get in a car, I will feel sick within the first five minutes. So... speaking from personal experiences here... I don't know why I'm saying this, I just wanted to add this.

Roman had had a crush on Virgil for as long as he could remember. It was the way that the emo, walked, or maybe it was his laugh or his smile, could it be his fashion sense, or his humour or that slightly Irish lilt to his voice? Roman didn't know. But he knew he adored all of it. He adored anything and everything about Virgil.

It had, honestly, been ruining his life a little. He had gone from zero to infinity on the simp scale the moment Virgil was brought up. He'd fetch things for his crush, lie for his crush and hurt for his crush. Heck, he'd even do all of Virgil's' homework for a whole year just to get a kiss. And Virgil seemed to know this and used it.

Probably not deliberately, or he at least didn't know why Roman would do this, but if someone was shutting down his idea, he'd turn to Roman and instantly get support. He strung Roman along without even knowing it. Virgil was really, really fucking dense.

Seriously, though. Roman had seen a lot of oblivious guys in his years of flirting but Virgil was just the tip of the iceberg. Their back-and-forth flirting may have been completely real when it came to Roman, but it always seemed to be Virgil's' way to pass the time. A fun activity. An act. A game. A harmless lie. Well, it cost a lot more than he thought.

But, Roman had started working up his game. He had decided to stop trying to be a subtle tease and become a great, big flirt instead and it seemed to be working. Using some cheesy pick-up lines on the emo when Virgil wouldn't expect them, surprising him with hugs from behind, that always seemed to result with Roman's' arms tightly around Virgil's' waist, kisses on the back of the other's' hand. They were all going smoothly without a hit and Roman knew that he was getting insanely lucky for not getting repulsed reactions.

He had seen some other boys in his class trying to pull the same shit with Virgil, but they always got rejected or punched in the eye for even touching him. Roman, however, received a very flustered, stammering response. He was winning the not-so-sweet maiden's' heart, even if it was a slow process. And now was the big task.

Asking him out.

He walked into the cafeteria with a plan. After subtly asking Virgil over a few weeks how he would want to be asked out, he finally had it.

Gentle, sweet and thoughtful, but also pretty darn obvious.

Roman made his way over to the table he and his friends sat at to see that, just as he had asked, an empty seat next to Virgil. He sat down, trying to contain his eagerness and gently moved the chair a little closer to Virgil, an action that did not go by unnoticed because he could see Virgil's' cheeks light up underneath all his white foundation.

Patton, who sat opposite Virgil raised a small eyebrow with a smile - the emo glared back.

"Hey, Vee?" Roman asked softly, taking the other's' hand. "Can I ask you something?"

Virgil looked down at their intertwined fingers, trying to ignore the watchful table. "Sure..."

"Would you like to go on a date with me?"

The emo swallowed shyly. "Sure."

Roman nearly squeaked. Correction, he did squeak. He practically bounced up and down in his seat happily, much to everyone's' amusement and Virgil's' ever-increasing embarrassment. Oh, he was so ready for this date.

Oh, he was so not ready for this date.

Roman paced up and down in his room, practically pulling out his hair with nerves. He was yet to come up with a realistic, undramatic idea and it was stressing him out.

Fancy dinner? Virgil doesn't like eating around people he doesn't know, especially in a posh environment.

Trip to the theme park? Way too expensive. Roman's' wallet was still recovering from his shopping mall spree with Remy last month. Asking Virgil to pay would be so rude, even if Virgil's' dad was loaded.

A walk? Too lame, Virgil could get cold, he might get nervous about being seen by one of their classmates.

A movie and cuddles? Virgil would probably love it, but it was more of a 'boyfriend' thing instead of a first date thing.

Ugh, this was hard.

His pacing must of, unfortunately, summoned the walking-dick-joke-dispenser because Remus opened his bedroom door. "You look shit."

"I am a failure," Roman replied quickly.

His twin raised an eyebrow. "Okay, that's new. What's up your arse now?"

"It's Virgil-"

Remus smiled hauntingly and wiggled his eyebrows. "Ooh, Virgil Whitlaw's up your arse? Honestly, I'm not surprised-"

"Remus."

"Sorry. Seriously, I'm listening. Why ya fussing over Whitlaw now, brother?"

Roman sighed. "I asked him out on a date-"

Remus suddenly started. "Did he say no?"

"No, he said yes-"

"Why are you worrying then?"

Roman groaned, pausing in his pacing to slump against the wall. "Because I am an awful date planner, I have no idea what to do with him."

Remus thought for a moment. "Just do what I did when I got Janus to go out on a date with me."

With a complete and utter lack of amusement, Roman turned to glare at his twin. "You got Janus down into our basement and you fucked him on the couch while the two of you were supposed to be watching 'Sleeping Beauty'."

"Correction," Remus said. "I was teaching Janus what really happened in the original story and I decided to use a demonstration just to make sure I got my point across."

Roman groaned again. "This is me and Virgil, not you and Janus, Remus."

"Fair point, fair point," Remus pranced into the room and sat on Roman's' bed. "I know," He said with a devious grin. "Why don't you go and take him on a car drive to a pretty meadow somewhere and the two of you have a picnic and then drive him around town. That's sappy enough for you, right?"

The panicking teen blinked slowly. "That's... actually a really good idea..."

Remus seemed stunned. "Are you serious? Oh..."

"What do you mean, am I serious?" Roman asked.

Remus hesitated but then shrugged. "Nevermind."

~'^'~

Virgil was ready. He had dressed up for this night, he was excited, he had even brushed his teeth, because mints were too strong, just in case Roman decided to pull some Disney shit on him. He was wearing some of the least emo clothes he owned while still keeping his whole aesthetic, which had not been easy. He had a warm, heavy black jacket that was laden with pins over a Panic! At The Disco shirt that was loosely tucked into skinny jeans. Then, he kept the eyeshadow and white foundation, because that was basically his trademark.

There was a knock on the door and he heard it open. His heart jumped into his throat as he looked at the time. Of course, Roman was exactly on time. This was Roman. Virgil inspected himself once more in the mirror and added some cherry-flavoured chapstick, just to finish it off. Not perfect, but decent. Actually, maybe a little better than decent...

Virgil smiled at himself and his little brother, Thomas, yelled up the stairs, "Virgil! There's someone here to see you!"

"Coming, be there in a second!" Virgil yelled back. He picked up his phone, just as it buzzed with a notification that flashed up on screen long enough for him to read it.

Dad number two: ok, I know ur on ur date but if Roman tries something u don't want, tell me and I'll personally sort him out, ok, kiddo?

Patton could be scary sometimes.

Virgil scoffed slightly, however, at the text, slipping his phone in his pocket.

"Viiiiiiiirgiiiiiiil!" Yelled out Thomas, even louder than before.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming!" Virgil shouted back, rushing to the stairs and closing his bedroom door behind him. He had cleaned up his room, just in case Roman had been listening too much to Remus. He didn't want anything to go wrong, tonight. There wasn't a thing such as 'too prepared' when it came to him.

He rushed down the flight of stairs, walking hurriedly through several rooms before reaching the hallway. Thomas had his little hands on his hips with a big pout. "It took you for forever to get down here," He complained.

"Yeah, well, I'm here now, shoo," Virgil huffed, shooting a glare at his brother.

Thomas looked from Virgil to Roman. "Who's he?"

"He's a very good friend of mine, now go away," Virgil huffed, picking up his DocMartens, which he began to worm onto his feet in a hurry.

"Where are you going?" Jesus, Virgil loved his brother but the kid was so nosy that it was almost unbelievable.

"Out," Virgil replied simply.

Thomas tilted his head. "Can I come?"

"Definitely not," Virgil replied, finishing his laces quickly. "No kids allowed."

"I'm not a kid, I'm seven!" Thomas pouted.

Virgil jumped to his feet, looking awkwardly over to his date, who seemed incredibly amused by this scene before him. The emo grabbed his keys. "Well, you're too young to come with us. You're not allowed."

Thomas's' pout grew bigger. "You're a meanie!"

"Naw," Teased Virgil. "You're just a baby. Go away, Thomas."

The child glared as hard as he could but, eventually, he realised Virgil and his friend weren't going to relent. So, he slowly backed up and Virgil stepped out of the house, closing the door firmly behind him.

The moment the door locked behind them, Roman had his hand slipped around Virgil's' waist, pulling the emo close to him. "You look lovely," He complimented gently.

Virgil snickered quietly, a blush rising. "You don't look too bad yourself, princey, you simp."

"I'm not a simp," Roman protested. Virgil arched an eyebrow at him and Roman smirked. "I mean, I'm not a simp for anyone but you..."

The pair had reached the little gate at the bottom of the path that led up to Virgil's' front door when Roman stopped them to gently pull Virgil in a little closer, tilting his chin up to him. Virgil blushed and smiled coyly, averting his eyes away softly, in an almost flirtatious manner, back to his front door. He caught sight of the letterbox wide open and he could see Thomas's' big brown eyes widen in shock of being caught and then vanish quickly as the letterbox quickly shut. Virgil glared slightly before turning his attention back to Roman, who seemed to be having a gay breakdown.

"So, where are you gonna take me, princey?" Virgil teased liltingly, snapping his head out of Roman's' hold to get back Roman's' attention which, unknown to the emo, had never left him in the first place.

Roman blinked, refocusing. "That's a surprise. Wanna get in?" He gestured down to his car and Virgil felt his stomach drop.

Shit.
