Ghost Shenanigans (Anxiety x Logic)
Oneshot warnings: bullying, mention of breaking bones, and death. (Death being because this is about a ghost, so uh....... yeah)
Hi please leave me requests for oneshots so I can try to get a bunch written to upload at random times bc I have zero ideas and also zero time to write them. My plan is to write a bunch of them on the car ride back to NC on Thursday, and then upload them in between updates for Tally Marks and Haunted High School. That way you guys get more updates even when I don't have that much time to get work done. (Please know that if you leave a requests there is no guarantee it will be done, as stated I have little time so I may not get around to very many of them, and I will only be writing the ones I actually have the motivation for bc life is stressful and I am tired)
Also yes this is basically a oneshot about HHS, set a little after chapter 9, which is where the story is currently at. Technically it's a couple chapters afterwards, but I haven't added in what happens in those chapters yet so y'know. I thought it'd be funny to add what happens between chapters lol. Warning for spoilers and all, please go check out the book if you haven't already!!!! I'm super proud of it and I think it's pretty funny and interesting.
Being a ghost was boring, most of the time.
Sure, Logan had his friends to talk to after class was over, but that didn't happen until hours later, and it wasn't like they could stay for very long. They had homes to get back to. Real, living people to go and see. They couldn't spend all of their time in the library with him.
Needless to say, Logan got bored sometimes. Which meant he had to come up with creative ways to entertain himself. That was what had led him to following Virgil around, and what eventually ended with him terrorizing Roman for the entire day.
He hadn't started off the day planning to harass the student. It just sort of happened. Virgil happened to share his first period class with Roman, and Roman, as usual, was being annoying. He truly never seemed to shut his mouth, and after one particularly stupid comment that once again made Logan roll his eyes he decided to try something to shut him up.
It wasn't the first time he had done this-before Roman knew of his existence at all he had done the same thing to stop him from listening in on his friends conversations. He had probably figured out by now that it had been him who threw it, but he surely wasn't going to complain about it now. He would sound insane if he blamed it on a ghost.
Logan made his way over to Virgil's desk at the back of the classroom, Virgil jumping when he quietly asked to borrow a sheet of paper. Virgil looked in his direction in confusion, but didn't bother questioning. He carefully tore out a sheet as quietly as he possibly could, sliding it to the edge of his desk to see what Logan did with it. He watched as the paper seemed to move on its own, crumpled into a ball and being lifted off of his desk as the teacher turned her back. Logan waited until Roman interrupted the class yet again with a dumb joke, then he launched the paper at him as hard as he could.
Roman yelped as it hit him, whirling around in the direction it had come from. Already the students behind him had begun laughing as they saw the paper hit him, Virgil joining in on the laughter as well. Logan grinned smugly, knowing Roman wouldn't say anything for the rest of the class because he couldn't really tell someone that a ghost was the one throwing things at him.
Later on in the day, as Virgil and Roman were traveling to their next class, Roman decided to talk to Virgil. He kept trying to get his attention, poking him and asking the same question over and over again. "Why don't you like me? Why are you so against me helping you guys out?"
Each time Virgil would ignore him, and Roman would become more and more annoying.
"Dude, just go to your class and stop pestering me!" Virgil groaned, shoving Roman away from him.
"No! Tell me why you guys hate me so much." Roman insisted, taking a step closer to Virgil again. Both of them just glared at each other for a moment, before Virgil sighed and rolled his eyes.
"We don't hate you. You're just an idiot and we're trying to get used to you. Is that a good enough answer?" Virgil asked, being the first to stop glaring at him and continue walking. Roman followed behind him.
"No, it's not! For Patton and Logan maybe, but you clearly have another reason for disliking me so much. What is it?" Roman persisted, and as much as he hated to admit it Logan was curious too. He watched to see if Virgil would respond at all.
"It's nothing, now please just let me go to my class." Virgil grumbled, his cheeks turning red. It was clear he wasn't going to answer anymore, so when Roman once agin tried to pester him for the answer Logan decided to step in.
The next time Roman took a step forward Logan stepped as well, foot landing on the back of Roman's shoes. Roman whirled around immediately, finding no one there and frowning. He went straight back to pestering Virgil, so Logan did it again. That time after finding no one behind him Roman seemed to understand what was happening, glaring in Logan general direction.
"Fine, whatever! I'm still coming to the library later." Roman huffed, turning away from Virgil and walking in the direction of his own class.
Virgil turned around as well, seeing no one behind him. He looked after Roman, still storming off, and also realized what had just happened. "Thanks," he mumbled.
"Always happy to bother Roman." Logan laughed quietly, earning a tiny grin from Virgil. "He has a point though. You are a little pointlessly rude to him. He has only been helpful to us since he found out about my existence. Why do you dislike him so much?"
Virgil's face turned an even darker shade of red, and although he seemed to know the answer he didn't really seem to want to say. Logan was slightly disappointed that his friend wouldn't trust him enough to tell him the true reason for disliking Roman, but instead of voicing this he simply told him not to worry, and that he wouldn't push him to answer. Relieved, Virgil thanked Logan again and continued on to his next class.

Roman was not the only student Logan had decided to mess with by the end of the day. He was definitely an obvious candidate as he never seemed to stop messing with Virgil throughout the day, but he certainly wasn't the worst person to bother his friend.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few students in the school who happened to be assholes. That was one thing that definitely hadn't changed since Logan was alive. He hated knowing that Virgil went through the same thing that he did in school.
While Virgil was making his way to his final class of the day he happened to run into one of those assholes. He shoved Virgil, knocking him to the ground and stepping on his hand as he walked past, muttering an insult under his breath.
Logan quickly made sure no one else was around to see them, passing Virgil his things and helping him up. Virgil winced looking at his hand, moving his fingers and making sure he hadn't broken anything.
"Are you alright?" Logan asked, watching Virgil in concern while also trying to keep turning to see where the other student who had done this was going.
"It's not broken," Virgil muttered, holding his things in one hand and bringing his hurt one closer to his chest. "I'll be fine. Thanks."
"You should get to class. I'll see you in the library." Logan said, turning to walk away. Virgil asked him where he was going but Logan didn't answer, leaving Virgil to walk the rest of the way to his class on his own while he went in the direction he had seen Virgil's bully walk off to.
He was thankful when he found that the kid had decided not to head to class, meaning he wouldn't have to wait for what he was going to do. He found the student in the bathroom, somehow barely even realizing that it was the exact bathroom he had refused to enter since he first realized he was dead. He followed him in, making sure no one else was in the same room.
The second he confirmed that they were alone Logan shoved the student, just as he had done to Virgil previously. The teenager yelled in surprise, turning and finding no one there. He slowly started to push himself up on his hands, only for Logan to once again copy him and step on his hand.
"What the fuck?" The boy screamed, not understanding what was happening to him. There was no one there that he could see, so why did it feel like someone was standing on his hand? Logan stepped off of him, and the boy didn't move for a second. He was just about to stand and run out of the bathroom when suddenly he was pulled up and shoved against the bathroom wall. He tried to pull away and get out of there, but found that he couldn't.
"You think it's funny messing with other people, but get scared so easily when it happens to you." Logan pointed out, and the kid froze, not expecting the voice. "Stop messing with other people, or next time will be worse."
Logan let go of the bully, watching him dart out of the classroom quickly. He didn't bother thinking about what he had done or even the room he was in, simply making his way to the library to wait for his friends to arrive after class.
Sometimes, being a ghost was boring. But sometimes, it meant Logan could get away with things he'd never dreamed of doing when he was alive. Sometimes being a ghost made him feel more powerful.
Sometimes Logan wasn't sure if that was a good thing.
I feel like I should say I don't think it's a good idea to get back at a bully by treating them how they treat others. You should definitely tell an adult if someone is bullying you. The way that Logan acted in this oneshot is something that gets addressed later in the book but I won't talk about that too much rn bc spoilers
This ended up a lot more angsty than I thought it'd be, whoops. I mean, I guess you could take it as just him being nice to Virgil, so maybe it's just me knowing what's going to happen in the future of HHS that makes this angsty for me but oh well-
Anyways, as stated in the beginning of this life is incredibly busy and stressful right now. I do still want to update for you, and would appreciate it if you'd leave requests for me to do when I can find the time so that I have ideas for when I need to upload. I'm sorry for being so terrible at updating all of my books currently, and I hope I can fix that soon.
That's really all I have to say for now. Thanks so much for reading this. I hope that you enjoyed it. *a happy unbirthday cake arrives at your doorstep from an unknown sender and explodes into ring pops* Thanks for the suggestion Paradox-Puzzler !!!! Take care of yourselves. Hope all of you are doing well. Bye!-Bob
