Flower Theft (Anxiety x Logic)

Prompt. I think I should probably have a warning for talking about death

Virgil sighed as he trudged along the sidewalk, hands stuffed in his jacket pocket that he still wore despite it being spring. He stopped at a specific house, one with the most beautiful flowers in the garden. Virgil glanced around, and seeing no one nearby made his way into the yard to take some.

Just as he had pulled some of the best looking ones out of the ground the front door of the house was thrown open. Virgil jumped, looking at the man who had just walked out with wide eyes. If he had any time he would have hidden the flowers behind his back, but the man had already caught him.

"So it is you who has been stealing my flowers." He said, looking surprisingly calm for someone who had just caught a person stealing his belongings. Virgil spluttered for any kind of response, trying to explain why he was doing it. After a while he fell silent, slowly nodding his head and looking to the ground. The man hummed, looking him up and down. Virgil flushed, wondering what he was going to say. "Well, I think it is only fair that I get to come and make sure this girl you're meeting is pretty enough to warrant flower theft."

Virgil's eyes widened as the man locked the door to his house, trying to say something, anything. The man turned back, seemingly waiting for him to lead the way. Virgil stood still for a moment, but after a while he sighed, turning and walking in the direction he had been heading before. The man followed along behind, also staying silent.

"What is your name?" The man asked after they had been walking for a while. They were halfway to their destination by now. "Mine is Logan."

"Virgil. Friends call me Virge." He muttered, managing to get out his first words to this man finally. He glanced over at Logan, finally taking in what he looked like. He looked to be the same age as Virgil, and he was dressed far more professionally than he was. He had a black shirt and blue necktie, neat brown hair, and sharp eyes behind glasses that framed his face. He certainly wasn't bad looking at all, and Virgil wished they had met on better circumstances. He wondered what Logan would think when he found out where they were headed.

"And, this girl you're meeting..?" He questioned, glancing over at Virgil. Virgil quickly looked away, face burning as he realized he was caught staring.

"Uh... the thing is, I'm not... I'm not meeting a girl." He admitted, tapping his fingers on his folded arms nervously.

"Ah. A boy then? Or, is it someone who is neither?" He raised an eyebrow at Virgil, who looked at him as though he were surprised.

"Uh... well, y-you'll... see." He muttered, looking back ahead of him. Logan frowned, but didn't say anything else as the two of them walked along.

When they finally reached their destination, Virgil was ten times more nervous then before. His tapping got faster, and he was chewing on his bottom lip. He said nothing as they entered the cemetery, Logan following behind him, frowning as he suddenly realized why Virgil had stolen the flowers. He still said nothing as they approached a specific grave, Virgil setting down the flowers on it as Logan read the name 'Patton Sanders'.

"I am sorry, Virgil." Logan said quietly, looking back up at him as he once again chewed his bottom lip.

"It's alright." He muttered, glancing back down at the grave. "Been a while... it still hurts, but..."

"Who was he?" Logan asked carefully, not wanting to upset Virgil.

"My dad." He tried to hide a sniffle by coughing. Logan frowned more.

"It is alright to cry." Logan told him, putting a hand on his shoulder in an attempt to be comforting. Virgil looked down at his hand, and Logan wondered if maybe he had done something wrong until he heard quiet sobs, Virgil looking up and letting Logan see the few tears that had fallen.

"I still miss him so much," he cried, covering his face with his hand. Logan, internally freaking out over how to handle human emotions, silently and awkwardly attempted to offer a hug. Virgil looked over at him, leaning over to accept his hug wordlessly. There were no sounds except for Virgil's quiet crying, Logan occasionally attempting to say something comforting. At some point his crying quieted completely, and he pulled away from Logan, wiping at his eyes.

"Thanks. I-I'm sorry." He said, sniffing. "For stealing your flowers, and... for not telling you before we got here, I'm sure you didn't want to come to the cemetery. I just didn't know what to say."

"There is no need to apologize. It is alright." Logan promised him, offering the smallest of smiles. Virgil gave him one just as small back, sniffling again.

"I, uh... appreciate you being here. I hate coming alone, but..." He trailed off, and Logan nodded.

"Of course. I am glad I could be in any way helpful." He told him, Virgil smiling appreciatively. However, after glancing back at the gave his smile fell, and he closed his eyes as thought holding back tears. Logan thought for a moment, wondering how he should cheer him up. "What was your best memory of your dad?"

Virgil's smile suddenly returned, and he started talking about his dad. He shared lots of stories about him, talked about what he was like, how great he was as a dad. Logan listened to him, looking at his smile as he spoke. He had a very nice smile, Logan thought. Eventually it was beginning to get late, and the two of them had to head home. They both said goodbyes, for the first time in his life Virgil left the graveyard with a smile, thinking of the good times spent with him rather than the fact that he was gone.

The next day Virgil walked to the cemetery he stopped at Logan's house again, smiling as he thought of the man inside. He happened to notice the bouquet of flowers sitting neatly on his doorstep, frowning curiously as he stepped forward to look at them. He picked them up, finding a note attached to them addressed to him.

To Virgil:
These are for your dad. I hope they are good enough. If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to call me.

At the bottom of the note was a phone number, and Virgil smiled. He would definitely use the number later.

Thinking of Logan, Virgil made his way to the cemetery, setting the flowers on the grave once he got there. After doing this he sat down in front of his dad's grave, drawing in a deep breath before he started talking. He knew it might be silly, talking to a dead persons grave, but he liked to imagine that his dad was listening somewhere. He told his dad about Logan, about how kind he was and how handsome. He told him about how he had his number now, and he hoped the two of them would get to know each other.

He kept a smile on his face as he spoke, knowing that if his dad really were there listening, he was happy for him.

Lmao sorry for killing off Patton in this one

So I have a few things to say-first of all

LOOK AT MY COOKIES I MADE ARENT THEY BEAUTIFUL

That was actually my first time making sugar cookies and I liked them a lot haha. It was fun to decorate them. I love baking things.

I also made a wreath!!! It's really cool!!!

My dad said this looked like those thingies people used to wear cause I was carrying it around like this lol

I still need to find a place to put it, but isn't it pretty? I also found out that I could make wreaths and sell them for a lot so hey I might do that cause it's fun to make them haha

And my tiny Christmas tree in my room!!!!!! It's so pretty!!!

I was holding a toy over Vaughn's head so he'd look at me and stay still lol. But ahhh I love the holidays a lot

Still not looking forward to Christmas actually getting here, cause that means I get to be stuck in Florida being reminded of almost killing myself, but hey at least I'll enjoy it while I can. And I mean... hopefully with my parents being more understanding of my mental health stuff now they'll let me escape every once in a while from my families craziness.

God, I also find out whether or not we're gonna be moving to Florida soon....

SERIOUSLY I CANT LEAVE MY BEST FRIEND

I mean.... okay, I am trying to look at the positive side of things. Here's my list so far of good things about moving:

-Being able to swim whenever I wanna
-mental health improving due to getting out of the house more going to pool and/or beach and I just think we'll go places more if we lived there
-possibly losing weight due to getting out of the house more
-I've been wanting to redo my room for a while, and if I moved I could paint my room how I want and set it up however I want (I think instead of the dark colors I have now I wanna have bright colors)
-possibly meeting new people

And honestly... the only cons are:

-being away from Freddie
-seeing my crazy family more often
-rarely ever seeing my grandparents

But like....... if I said I was looking forward to moving I'd feel bad, cause my friend really doesn't want me to move

Wow I've talked a lot. Sorry, I've had a lot to say and no one I know irl really lets me talk about myself that much lmao... and the ones that do I haven't been able to talk to a whole bunch. I've been really busy this week. I'm ready for it to be over.

Ahhhhhhhhhh I'll stop now haha. I'll try to do better about updating although it's probably actually been a relief that I'm not bombarding you with updates every day-

Thanks for reading, hope you liked this. *a killer comes in and stabs you, but instead of blood ring pops come out*

Thanks for the suggestion. ^•^ Take care of yourselves. You're important and I love you guys. Bye!-Bob
