What's Happy Mean?

Hi Angels! Here's a new, sad chapter! Yes the date of New Years was correct. At least where Thomas lives.

Trigger Warnings: Angst, villain/bad guy, name calling, insults, referring to a person as a thing, loneliness, days without eating, hatred, self hatred, bullying, amongst others.

Anxiety groaned as he turned on his phone. Another night full of night terrors. That's fine. Who needed sleep?

The first thing he saw when he wasn't blinded by the light was the date. Monday, January 1st, 2017. New Years. And of course he wasn't invited to celebrate with the others. Anxiety winced when he remembered the sound of their laughter as they hung out. Without him. It was better that way. No one wanted him there.

His stomach growled. He was hungry. What was the last time he ate? Thursday... morning? A bowl of cereal or something? That sounded about right. He didn't eat much. He didn't leave his room. He didn't want to see the others. Didn't want to feel their hatred.

He shook his head to get rid of that train of thought. He needed food. He hoped the others were asleep still after being up all night. He reluctantly left his room, looking around to make sure no one was there. He crept downstairs just to see the three of them fast asleep on the couch, limps tangled together, looking happy. His heart clenched at the sight. He wanted to be a part of that.

But of course he couldn't be. He was just Anxiety. The bad guy. The villain.

He went to the kitchen and made some oatmeal. He sat down to eat it when he heard shifting from the living room. He froze. Oh no they were going to see him and they would laugh and make fun of him and hate him and make him leave and - His train of thought was cut off when Logan entered the room.

"Where were you last night,  Anxiety? Why did you not join in our celebration?" He flinched at the logical side's words.

"Why would we want him there? He would only ruin it. It was perfect without him." Roman sneered.

Of course he would. That's the only thing he's able to do. Mess up. He knows that. So why does it hurt do much?

"Of course it was Roman. I was just wondering where he was. I was not inviting him."

Of course not. He. wasn't. welcome. He wasn't wanted. Wasn't needed. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Anxiety whispered as he sunk out, the untouched oatmeal forgotten. He collapsed next to his bed in tears. How could he ever think they wanted him there? Why did he let himself hope? What a stupid thing to do. Hoping never helped him before and it wouldn't start now. He just wished that would change.

He loved them and it hurt, so much, knowing they would never return that love. That they wouldn't even look at him as a friend. Much less as family.

Roman and Logan watched Anxiety sink out. Logan felt kind of bad. After all he thought Anxiety could be pleasant at times. Roman on the other hand, thought this was a great achievement. Finally! He found a way to get the villain out of his way!

"Kiddos? Who's oatmeal is this?"

Logan winced a little when he noticed that the oatmeal bowl remained untouched. "I believe it was Anxiety's.

"Why is it untouched..? I haven't seen him eat anything since thursday."

"Thursday?" Logan's eyes widen in alarm. It's a wonder Anxiety could still function as well as he did. Three days without food? That was unimaginable to Logan or Roman.

"Why would he do that to himself?" Roman questioned. "Why would he stop eating?"

"Did you guys see him? Did you say anything?" Patton knew that Roman constantly bullied him so maybe it had something to do with that?

"We did. We discused how the celebration went, and how glad we were that he- that he wasn't there." Logan stumbled over his words a bit as he realised this was probably his and Roman's fault. It's fine. It's not like he cared anyway.

"You guys need to stop! This is why- you are why he hasn't eaten. Hasn't slept. You guys bullying him. Your hatred. This is why." Patton felt like crying. He just wanted his kiddos to be happy. Why couldn't they just be happy?

"As if it matters." Roman scoffed. "He's nothing. He exists just to hurt Thomas. We'd all be better if he just died already."

While Roman was exaggerating a bit, Logan had to agree. "Of course. Anxiety is just a mental disorder after all. It doesn't deserve to be here."

"The monster doesn't deserve to live."

"It's just a disorder."

"It's needs don't matter."

"It doesn't matter."

Anxiety was nothing. A disorder, a monster. And he deserved everything.

Yay! Angst! Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
