(Prinxiety) thunder storms and cuddles
Virgil cursed under his breath as another roll of thunder erupted and seemed to shake the walls, he groaned and pulled his blanket over his head trying to ignore the noise, at first he quietly counted to himself which was a good distraction at first.
Until a clap of thunder interrupted him, he jumped at the noise and pulled his knees to his chest burying his face in his lap. For a person like him who was known as someone who resembled a dark and stormy night he absolutely hated thunder storms. He took deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself down knowing that if he panicked more he would trigger an attack and he always hated having to deal with them. He squeezed his eyes shut hoping that he could drift off to sleep even with the storm still going on.
So he waited, and waited, and waited. He couldn't go to sleep, he could feel his body trembling, he was afraid. He bit his lip holding in a cry when the rumbling of thunder became louder, how could the others sleep through a storm like this? He had the sudden urge to run to one of their rooms to seek comfort and protection, Patton seemed like the best person to go to, but knowing that he and Logan were now a couple he was sure that the pair were sleeping together. Mostly because like himself, Patton disliked storms and Virgil was certain that Logan would be in his room comforting him.
His only option now was Roman....
Virgil felt his heart race at the thought of him going to Roman for comfort, sure the princely trait annoyed him a lot, but Virgil really enjoyed his company. Maybe a little too much. Virgil felt a blush creeping to his pale cheeks, just thinking about the prince was enough to fluster him he whined and shook his head trying to clear his mind.
As he did so, a clap of thunder, one louder than all the others, frightened the overly anxious trait. His heart leaped and before he could stop himself a loud cry escaped his lips, tears filled his eyes and his body shook even more, he wrapped his arms around himself and smothered himself with his blanket trying to rid of the terrifying noise.
The sound of a door hurriedly opening and frantic footsteps startled him, he pressed his hands against his ears and hid his face. His door swung open and he once again let out a cry. “Go away!” He shouted with a trembling voice he tried to stop himself from trembling but he couldn't control it, he was too scared to even move. “Virgil!” He instantly recognized the voice and his heartbeat gradually slowed.
His bed dipped as the person climbed on and crawled closer to him. “Hey it's alright, it's just me, Roman.” His words were quiet and cautious. “You're alright, nothing can harm you.” Virgil felt relief wash over him and allowed his tears to fall. “You can come out now.” Roman urged him to show himself, Virgil swallowed the lump in his throat before speaking. “I-I can't move.” He stammered out, he heard Roman gasp, and before he knew it the blanket was lifted off of him and he was met with a worried looking Roman who have him a small reassuring smile.
Virgil let out a shaky breath. “Just breathe okay?” Roman pleaded. “Y-yeah." Virgil nodded and focused on his breathing. “You really gave me a fright.” Roman let out a nervous laugh and ran his hand through his hair. “I thought...” He visibly flinched. “I thought something or someone had hurt you, I grabbed my sword on the way.” Virgil looked over to the door where Roman's sword rested against the wall beside it. “That was unnecessary.” He mumbled.
“I know.” Roman laughed, he suddenly stopped when he took a good look at the trembling figure in front of him, he looked horrible, dark bags rested under his eyes and he was crying, Roman was upset with himself for not taking notice of his suffering. His heart broke at the sight in front of him and he reluctantly reached out to comfort him, he paused when Virgil flinched and his heart broke a little more. “I'm not going to hurt you, I promise.” He reassured.
Virgil calmed himself and nodded allowing him to do as he pleased, he really needed some comfort, the storm still continued and he so badly wanted to wrap his arms around the prince like he originally wanted to do, but he was too nervous and anxious to say or do anything.
Roman scooped the frightened trait into his arms and set him on his lap. “I'll stay until the storm dies down.” He whispered to him, Virgil clung to him soaking in all the warmth he provided and buried his face in his shirt. “...so you're afraid of thunder?” Roman asked, Virgil nodded feeling ashamed of himself, he thought that such a fear was childish and ridiculous but he couldn't help but to feel scared.
Loud noises kept him from sleep and peace it disturbed him because he always had to deal with the storms alone, and now with his anxiety at its peak it was ten times as worse, Roman rubbed his back in an attempt to calm him. “I'll let you on a little secret of mine.” He whispered to him. “I'm terrified of heights, I can never go to a high building because I'd end up passing out.” He laughed, Virgil felt a small smile tug at the corners of his lips. “Seriously?” He asked. “Yup, it's funny isn't it?” Roman chuckled.
Virgil had calmed down by now, even so Roman refused to let him go he was at peace holding him in his arms knowing that he was safe with him pressed to his chest resting against his heart where he belonged. Roman blushed, the tips of his ears grew bright red and a blush rose from his neck, a long while passed and the storm had finally quieted down, Virgil had fallen asleep sometime after and Roman was too scared to move fearing that if he moved the trait in his arms would wake, he looked so peaceful and was finally calm.
He huffed and readjusted himself so that he was resting against the dashboard of the bed, he pulled the blanket over Virgil and pulled him even closer, Virgil shifted and took a fistful of the prince's shirt, his head rested on his chest and he took a short breath. Roman smiled down at him and placed a kiss on his forehead. “Goodnight sleeping beauty.” He grinned and ran his hand through Virgil's messy hair.
He wished the moment could last forever, but knowing that others were destined to come he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep holding the person he loved in his arms. And nothing could ruin it.
