(Prinxiety & Logicality) collapse
PS: there's also Deceit x Remy!
The mind palace was in ruins, each and every trait was suffering due to Thomas' sleep deprivation. Logan was first to feel the change, he would stumble over his words, he stuttered more often, made frequent amount of mistakes which was completely new and scary for him, and he felt loopy and fuzzy.
After him Roman was affected, he was less cheery, ittery, jittery, and as he would say, 'not so glittery'. His motivation was at an all time low, not that it seemed to be something new, and he was a little bit more, fidgety, which worried the other sides.
Virgil was on his wits end, he was more jumpy and scared than his usual self, and he was very cautious and alert, well more than usual.
Patton became overly emotional and sensitive to many things, but of course it was to be expected, him being the heart and the source of many Thomas' feelings and all. But if course he was agitated and was tired, but to not worry the others any more than he had to he tried not to show it knowing well that they were already stressed and exhausted.
At the moment, they were all at the kitchen, Logan was barely conscious if it were not for the cups of coffee Thomas had gulped down earlier. Roman was dead on his feet and less lively, Virgil sat at the table his knee shaking and his teeth biting down on his thumb nail. And Patton was making breakfast seemingly normal than the others, but deep down he was also suffering from the deprivation. “How long has it been Logan?” Roman asked hoarsely and sat next to Virgil at the table, taking his hand as he did so.
Logan looked down at his wrist watch and bit his lip. “S-seventy two hours and thirty minutes.” He stammered, Virgil groaned and rested his head against the table top wanting nothing more but to go to sleep, but with Thomas still awake and ignoring them the trait's had no say or control over what he did in the outside world. He refused to listen to their pleads and not once summoned them, Virgil groaned once more, Thomas was recently taking a stroll outside planning on filming a small video with his friends, but even he could barely keep his eyes open.
And that resulted in Virgil working overtime, he worried more and warned him to be careful and to just go home and sleep, with no avail of course. It wasn't until moments after almost tripping that Thomas realized that he could no longer stay up. He was beyond exhausted and everything took a toll on him all at once, Logan leaned against a wall and ran a shaky hand through his disheveled hair taking a few deep breaths. “Something isn't right..” He slurred.
Patton rushed over to him as soon as he saw how pale he had gotten. “Logan? Are you o—” Everything suddenly began to shake, the mind was shutting down, Thomas was collapsing, fainting. In an instant Patton clung to Logan, squeezed his eyes shut, and whimpered. Both Roman and Virgil in an instant jumped to their feet and shakily rushed over to the pair. “What's happening?” Virgil asked anxiously, his voice constricted with fear. “Thomas is—” Before Logan could finish he quickly caught Patton, who had fainted, in his arms before he himself collapsed.
After them Roman leaned against Virgil for support already not being able to fight back the exhaustion and fatigue that weighed down on him like a ton of bricks, Virgil wrapped his arms around him, feeling the prince's knees buckle underneath him, and fell with him making sure he didn't injure himself as he hit the ground.
And then everything went black.
---------------------
Logan was the first to wake, with a splitting headache he opened his closed and heavy eye lids and winced. He was on the cold kitchen ground with Patton in his arms, he gasped and propped himself up hovering above the unconscious fatherly trait who was paler than usual. Beside them were Roman and Virgil both still unconscious, Logan gently shook Patton's shoulder. “Patton love, please wake up.” He whispered, he checked over him running his fingers through his hair checking if he had hit his head, which he gratefully didn't, and sighed in relief when he stirred.
Virgil was the next one to wake up, he hissed and squinted as he sat up, placing a gentle hand on Roman's back. “Ro, wake up.” He demanded in a pleading tone fearing that the prince was hurt, but his fears were washed away when said trait groaned and sat up from the tiled floor. “Virgil?” He croaked and crawled over to him taking him into his arms. “Are you injured? Does anything hurt?” The royal asked frantically looking over his boyfriend who shook his head. “I'm fine.” He reassured and looked over to the other pair. “How's dad?” He asked the logical trait.
Logan held a drowsy Patton in his arms. “He's also fine, just exhausted like the rest of us.” He replied solemnly. “This is bad, Thomas fainted, in public! Does anyone know where he is? Has anyone called the cops or an ambulance!?” Virgil's breathing became uneven. “Breathe love, everything will be okay. I'm sure someone will help Thomas out.” Roman rubbed his back until he was calm. “I'm just...really tired.” Virgil admitted. “And I'm scared.” He whispered under his breath.
Roman nodded and soothed him of his worries, “It's okay, nothing bad will happen. I promise.” He reassured. Patton shifted in Logan's arms and looked up at him. “You feeling okay Logi?” He asked quietly. “I'm a bit fuzzy, but other than that I'm alright.” Logan replied and slowly stood up, he held his hand out for Patton to take. “Can you stand?” He asked. “I can try.” Patron warily smiled and took hold of Logan's hand. Logan pulled Patton up to his feet and caught him in his arms when he swayed.
Roman stood dizzily pulling Virgil up along with him, they held each others hands and refused to let the other go. “I swear...” Virgil grumbled, and soon enough Thomas began to wake, with much effort of course. When the host grasped onto what had happened he immediately scrambled up to his feet, fear washing over him like a tidal wave. Virgil tried to control his uneven breathing once more while Patton tried to stop himself from trembling. They were both core trait's of Thomas' mind and were linked to his emotions. “N-now kiddo you need to calm down.” Patton said in a soothing tone to both Thomas and Virgil.
Logan could feel Patton's sporadic heartbeat against his palm and caught his attention by pulling him into to a soft embrace. “You must stay calm as well. If he feels your fear it'll only make matters worse and trigger an attack. And I do believe Virgil would like it very much if he didn't have one at the moment seeing as how we're all exhausted.” He explained to him. Patton nodded and leaned closer against his boyfriend burying his face in the crook of his neck, he breathed shakily and tried reenacting Virgil's breathing techniques.
Logan sighed and whispered encouraging words to him while stroking back his hair, Virgil whined and pulled his hood over his head. “Why can't we just sleep?” He whimpered softly. “We will once Thomas is back home and safe.” Roman replied and rubbed his shoulder. Their host staggered back the direction to his home and sleepily rubbed his eyes. “Thomas you have to stay awake a bit more longer. And please try not to faint again.” Logan warned, holding Patton steady.
Thomas pinched the bridge of his nose and groaned. The sun was way too bright, and everything was too loud, and he was just so tired. His legs felt like lead, his eyes stung, and his body ached. Each staggering step he took was difficult, his knees would buckle at times but he forced himself to keep going until he reached his home. Virgil kept him alert while Logan helped him with his surroundings, meanwhile Patton went over and sat at the common room keeping Roman company.
His shoulders were slumped, his hair messy, his eyes lackluster, his skin deathly pale, the prince looked horrible. “Hey kiddo, you doing okay?” Patton questioned and gave him a small smile. Roman shrugged and yawned loudly. “How do you do it Patton? Stay so calm? Stay so strong? You're extraordinary.” He stated. Patton giggled. “I'm anything but that kiddo, you guys are the ones that keep me going. You're the extraordinary ones.” He claimed.
The mind palace began to tremble again, but this time it was less shaky than before, nevertheless Patton jumped to his feet and returned to Logan who seemed to be having trouble standing. He clutched onto the edge of the table with trembling hands and took deep shaky breaths, Virgil rubbed his back in an attempt to calm him down. “What's happening?” Patton asked with a whimper. Logan quietly gasped and recollected himself, he straightened out his tie and turned around to face Patton. “No-nothing dear, every...everything is going to be o-okay.” He stuttered out.
Patton felt his heart swell with pain, he swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded reluctantly. “Okay...” He mumbled. Logan sighed and pulled him into an embrace. “We're going to be okay, just stay calm.” Deceit suddenly appeared, disheveled and restless like the others. “Where. Is. He.” He growled. Patton bit his lip and stood in front of Logan. Virgil sighed. “Almost home, how's Rem holding up?” He asked quietly. Deceit huffed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Thomas need to sleep. Now.” He spat icily. “And he will get it, just try to calm—” Deceit glared at the dark trait. “He's hurting him! He's hurting Remy Virgil how in the world am I supposed to calm down while the one I love is hurting?” He growled and tore his gaze away.
“I'm sorry.” He muttered and balled his trembling hands into tight fists. “I'm scared Virgil.” He admitted. “I just want his pain to go away.” A low whimper emitted from the back of his throat. Patton felt his heart break in two as he clung onto his own lover. “He's going to sleep soon, we just have to hold on for a little while longer.” Logan assured. Deceit pursed his lips, took a deep breath, and sighed. “Okay.” He breathed and disappeared, returning to his boyfriend.
Roman soon stumbled in, his face pale and sweaty. Virgil scrambled over to steady him. “Woah princey.” Roman tiredly leaned against him for support. “I can't stay up any longer.” He muttered, he sagged tiredly. The mind palace shook once more. Thomas had finally made it home, he dragged himself inside, lazily closing the door behind him, and trudged to the living room where he plopped onto the couch.
The sides sighed and helped each other to the couch, conjuring blankets and pillows, Deceit reappeared with a sleeping Remy in his arms and lied down on the couch, pulling a blanket over themselves. Within seconds the pair was fast asleep. Virgil was next to fall onto the couch, pulling Roman down with him. Roman encased Virgil in his arms, the dark trait pulled a large blanket over them and snuggled into Roman's chest. Seconds later they were dead asleep.
Logan dragged Patton and himself to the other couch which was smaller than the other. Logan lied down and pulled Patton onto his chest, the bubbly trait yawned and took fistfuls of his shirt. “Sleep now love..” Logan mumbled as he ran his fingers through his boyfriend's hair. Patton hummed in response and slowly drifted off to sleep. Logan sighed loudly and finally allowed himself to drift off, the mind palace was silent and at peace.
The sound of quiet breathing and soft snores were the only thing that was given. Promising a long and well deserved sleep.
