(Prinxiety-ish) Brother
⚠ there will be spoilers from the latest video so if you haven't watched it pls don't read this. Also, yeah there's gonna be a bit of immature dialogue, but not so graphic (okay there's a tiny bit of graphic content), and yes I know the new video just came out but I immediately started writing as soon as I finished the video, so I hope you enjoy! ⚠

Roman sighed as he returned to his room, he turned on his heel and was immediately face to face with his unwanted reflection, the reflection he despised and wanted to get away from. “Oh my poor brother, I didn't hit you too hard did I? I mean, it's not like I bashed your skull in, making your brain goopy squishy mush.” Remus pouted playfully, the less sadistic creative aspect set his jaw and took a calming breath before he turned his attention elsewhere and stormed away towards his bed. “Hey! Don't ignore me!” Remus demanded and suddenly forced Roman to see visions of gore and violence, the prince cried out and clutched at his head. “Stop it!” he demanded and glared violently at his grinning brother.
Remus dug through his pockets and pulled out his horrid stick of deodorant, Roman scrunched his nose and toppled onto his bed as the dark side chewed obnoxiously. “Brother dear—” Roman quickly sat up, “do not call me that.” He spat out with scorn, his opposite jokingly jumped back and chuckled wickedly, bits and chunks of his deodorant stick clearly visible in his mouth. “Why? There's a reason why I'm still here, why I'm only here with you, and it's not some weird Alabama family reunion, I'm not into that. Unless you are,” Remus walked up to him and bent over to speak in Roman's ear. “Are you into that? If you think about it, I'm sure I can make an exception for you.” The mad embodiment backed away and broke into a fit of inhuman laughter. The sane facet huffed and plopped back down on his bed, he could feel a headache beginning to form, and not because he was just hit in the back of his head with blunt force; Remus was just so…annoying.
He was a constancy of unwanted thoughts and scenarios, a bundle of unnecessary questions, yet questions that seemed to hit a nerve with whomever seemed to be listening. But Roman did not want to listen, so why was Remus still here? He had been out cold for most of the resolution of Thomas's worries and fears, he had picked up snippets of the conversations here and there, but he was still in the dark, never truly part of the group this time.
Perhaps that's why he was so confused and befuddled.
Have you ever thought of kissing Virgil?
Roman snapped out of his thoughts and cursed under his breath, “get out of my head Remus.” He muttered contemptuously, he looked to his side and was disgusted to see his rejected counterpart laying next to him, smiling as though he had no faults or worries of his own. “Hey, have you also realized the funny little thing about our names? Remus and Romulus Lupin, you know, from Harry Potter?” the sickening correspondent hummed questionably. The royal nearly gagged as his not-so-parallel companion scooted closer to him, his rancid breath hitting his face with each spoken sentence. “Eh not a fan I guess, hey do you ever think about not saving the people from the dragon witch? What if you just let it happen? How many people would be killed? Can you imagine the bloodshed?” Remus sighed contently, a demented smile plastered over his anemic looking face. Roman suppressed a shudder and instead focused on another, less gory, topic in hopes to get the unwanted thoughts out of his head.
Remus frowned and sat up from his spot, he took a great breath and let out a horrendous, savage, yell that would've seemed impossible for him to pull off. Yet there he was, screaming like a banshee on helium which decided to ride a scary roller coaster. Roman pressed his hands against his ears and waited until his brother stopped his maniacal screeching and once again collapsed back down on the bed, facing him again with an expression of innocence and naivete. “I know you think about ducking out sometimes, I've seen your thoughts, how could I not? Dearest brother, I know you think about fading away sometimes, it's almost the same as when Thomas thinks about jumping out of a moving car, but your thoughts are more sincere, and more…desperate.” Even with his ears still covered, Roman could still hear Remus clearly.
“You feel as though you're not good enough, like you have to be better. But you're also afraid of crossing the line, afraid of becoming me, or similar.” A cold hand took one of Roman's wrist, the pure side flinched at the unwelcoming touch and jerked away from the grasp. He uncovered his ears and sat up, he was beginning to feel sick, he didn't want to listen anymore. “You know you can't get rid of me because as soon as I'm in your head, I never get out. I am inevitable brother dear.” Remus' voice swirled and looped within Roman's mind which disoriented him for a brief moment before he snapped out of it and scrambled out of his bed. “You're nothing but a thought of natural human curiosity and experimentation.” He stated confidently, a hopeful expression crossed his features.
Remus groaned and rolled his eyes. “You're starting to sound so much like that nerd. Ugh, just thinking about him makes me want to—” suddenly, without explanation or warning, there was a loud and startling bang and Remus had a bullet hole in the middle of his forehead.
And then, in the matter of seconds, he sprung up.
Roman had witnessed everything with a horrified look on his now pale and gaunt face. “Aww, you do care brother mine.” Remus cooed with a thankful smile that only made it to Roman as though he were taunting him, which in his case, was what he was going for. The now terrified parallel of the two took a staggering step back and hit the door to his room with his back, he sunk to his knees and clutched at his skull while muttering words of encouragement to himself. Remus dragged himself out of the bed and crawled over to Roman who cringed at his presence, the vicious character laid a hand on Roman's shoulder which earned himself a tragic glare from the other.
Before Remus could do any more damage that was already done, Virgil suddenly appeared in the room, an expression of anger and discontent were eminent on his fair face. “Get away from him.” The former dark side demanded peremptorily, Roman snapped his attention up to him, his eyes filled with hope and relief. “Oh well if it isn't my dear companion, things are pretty dull on the other side now that you're gone,” Remus claimed with feign sorrow and wrapped an arm around Roman's shoulder, Virgil clenched his teeth. “Brother and I were just having a conversation, would you like to join in?” the psychotic trait rested his head on Roman's shoulder, the prince couldn't move, he was frozen.
“Hey Roman, you wanna join Patton and Logan? They're still a little shaken up, so we're gonna watch a movie.” Virgil ignored the pestering persona and kneeled in front of Roman, offering him a hand. The disheveled royal desperately looked into Virgil's eyes, and suddenly, he was calm. He breathed steadily and shook off Remus from his shoulder, the darker personality pursed his lips and quickly conjured a dagger; and, without a faltering thought, he threw it at Virgil.
Roman's breath hitched in his throat, his cry of warning not being able to make it past his trembling lips, but it wouldn't have made a difference.
The dagger was floating in midair, floating a few inches away from Virgil's now glaring face. Immediately, the dagger dropped to the ground and Virgil sighed, “you can choose the movie if you want, it's all Disney, your favorite.” He stated with a kind smile, Roman suddenly got the gist of what he was doing. “Is…is there Hercules?” He mumbled bashfully, Virgil playfully rolled his eyes at him. “Of course there is you dummy. Come on.” He took Roman's hand and helped him up.
“Naked babies!!” Remus shouted.
The prince and dark sides glanced at him questionably before looking back at each other, Virgil smiled lazily at Roman and gave his hand a small squeeze. “How's your head?” He asked as they exited the room, leaving a very furious Remus behind. “I'm alright, nothing too serious,” Roman assured with a small chuckle, Virgil checked him over making sure he wasn't hurt elsewhere. “…would it be alright if I slept with you tonight?” Roman mumbled shyly as he kept his gaze down, avoiding any eye contact with Virgil despite holding his hand.
Remus' voice faded as they walked away further, heading towards Patton's room. “My room wouldn't be a good place for you, but I'm sure Patton wouldn't mind a little sleepover in his room,” Virgil explained in a reassuring tone in voice, Roman looked over at him and stumbled with his words. “W-what I mean is...wil—will you stay with me?” he looked down at their interlocked hands and then back up at Virgil. The darker attribute blushed as he realized what Roman was requesting, he cleared his throat and slowly nodded. “Y-yeah, I'll stay close to you.” He stammered out, but he felt so happy. Happy that he was finally able to help someone he cared about, to protect him from his own kind. To finally feel like he was a helper rather than the cause of a problem.
And when he looked back up at Roman and saw that relieved smile on his face, he knew he would do anything to protect that smile.
No matter what it took. He would protect him. He would protect them. His new family. No.
His family.
