(No ship) origin
I've recently watched Venom so this one shot is inspired by the movie, well certain scenes inspired me to write this one-shot, but still. Enjoy!
Patton eyed the shadow like creature with big curious eyes wondering how it got into his room, he tilted his head to the side and squinted. It was odd, something that should not have been in Thomas's mind, yet there it was.
And out of pure curiosity, Patton reached out to touch it.
In an instant the creature latched onto him, it crawled up his arms and fazed through his shirt, latching onto the smooth skin of his chest, its black tendrils wrapped around his neck and face. It covered every inch of his upper body. Patton cried out and scrambled back, falling to the ground. He scratched at his arms and neck, he clawed at his face, trying to pry the thing away. But it had been no use, the being forced itself into Patton's body and the moral trait fainted upon the transaction.
Hours passed before he woke in his room, still on the floor. “It's about time.” A voice in his head hissed. Patton jolted up and looked around. “W-who's there?” He called shakily. “No one is here, I'm in your head.” The voice replied. Patton froze. “Why?” He asked in a hushed tone. “Why did you provoke me is the real question.” The voice replied. Patton stood up shakily and gripped onto the headboard of his bed. “You were different. I've never seen anything like you before.” He answered truthfully.
“You're a fool.” The voice growled. Patton winced and sat at his bed. “What are you?” He asked.
“....I'm a lie.” It answered.
Patton bit his lip. “I'm deceit. Something small in Thomas's mind, not an option at first, until he birthed me in order to solve his problems.” The voice explained. “So, you're just an option at the moment.” Patton stated. “I'm the worst case scenario.” It stated in a matter-of-fact tone. Patton nodded slowly and twiddled his thumbs. “Why did you uhm...i guess crawl in me?” He whispered. “I need a current host that Thomas uses constantly in order to gain more knowledge and strength, once I have enough strength I will be able to shape my body.” The voice explained.
Patton swallowed the lump in his throat and took a deep breath. “You're not going to hurt anyone are you?” His voice trembled. “I do not plan on hurting anyone.” The voice assured. Patton calmed down and slumped his shoulders. “Okay, I trust you.” He breathed. Roman suddenly called him from downstairs, the trait jumped and got to his feet. “I forgot it was pasta night!!” He exclaimed and made his way to the kitchen, when he reached the stairs Roman was at the bottom, waiting.
The bubbly trait smiled. “Roman you won't guess what I fou—” His hand was suddenly slapped over his mouth. He halted and looked down at his hand, his brows knitted together. “None of them must know about me.” The voice hissed icily. His hand lowered and dangled by his side. The prince eyed him worryingly. “You okay Pat?” He questioned. Patton shook of his initial shock and faced him. “Lie.” The voice demanded. Patton quickly pulled on a fake smile. “I'm fine!” He stated and bounded down the stairs.
Roman was hesitant at first, but he shook it off and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. “Can you make lasagna today? I'll help with the bread!” The creative side begged with a huge pouting lip that Morality could not resist. “Sure thing kiddo!” Patton laughed.
Soon dinner was made and served, everyone ate together, including Remy which was rare, he gave most of the conversation and entertainment. His stories were amusing. “...and OMG he was a total snake! Like he didn't even try to hide it! So many liars and fake people in the world smh.” The dramatic side huffed and stabbed his lasagna. “His stories amuse me.” The voice said, startling Patton, for he had forgotten about the voice in his head for a while. Virgil eyed him curiously. “Ah you okay?” He asked. “Do snakes tend to alarm people?” The voice questioned.
Patton looked down at his plate. “I mean yeah, sometimes.” He mumbled. The table suddenly went silent and Patton had quickly realized his mistake. He lifted his head and nodded to Virgil. “I mean! Yeah I'm totally fine kiddo! Sorry I dozed off there.” He nervously laughed and scratched the back of his neck. Virgil shared concerned looks with the others. “Abort, we must leave, now.” The voice demanded. Patton abruptly stood up from his seat and took his plate. “I'm stuffed, well I'm gonna head off to bed kiddos. Goodnight!” He waved them off and rushed back upstairs, locking himself in his room.
Patton hurried off to the restroom and looked himself at the mirror. His eyes flashed a quick yellow before returning to their natural color. “W-what are you doing?” He gripped onto the sink. The voice in his head laughed. “I believe I have come up with an image for myself.” It stated, the side of Patton's face changed, bumps appeared and Patton watched in horror as bright yellow scales appeared on his cheek, covering half of his face. He yelped and took a staggering step back. “What are you? Who are you?” He asked frightfully.
“I do not have a specific name for myself, but...”
“I do quite enjoy the name deceit. For that is what I am.”
“Deceit.”
