Virgil sat on the couch in the common room scrolling through tumblr with a bored, almost melancholic, look on his face.

He drew his legs to his chest and heaved a long sigh, today was just not his day. Though in all honesty most days were horrible for him, his eyes stung and the bags underneath them were not helping him fight off the oncoming exhaustion that weighed down on him like a ton of bricks. At that time Patton skipped into the living room casually holding the same smile he always had splayed over his face, he skidded to a stop in front of Virgil and giggled when the dark trait looked up at him with a quizzical expression.

Virgil frowned and slightly tilted his head to the side. “What's up Pat?” He hummed. Patton grinned. “You wanna see something cool?” He asked him. Virgil bit his lip and shrugged. “Sure, what is it?” He questioned. “I can fit the whole world in my hands.” Patton stated in a matter-of-fact tone. Virgil pouted, was this one of his dad jokes again? “Uhm...oka—” Patton cut him off by cupping his face in his hands. Virgil fidgeted and nervously looked around.

“You see? I told you!” Patton once again giggled. “I can fit the whole world in my hands!” As soon as he said that Virgil finally got what he was trying to do. He quietly gasped and a dark blush tainted his pale cheeks. “O-oh.” He stuttered and sniffed and tears of happiness filled his eyes. Patton gasped and quickly wiped at his teary eyes. “I'm sorry Virgil I didn't mean to make you cry!” He said and immediately wrapped his arms around him.

Virgil huffed and returned the hug. “No it's okay.” He assured. “I'm just happy.” He admitted bashfully. Patton sighed and rubbed his back. “I'm happy that you're happy.” He said and gave him a small squeeze.

Once  Virgil had recollected himself he quietly cleared his throat and sighed. “Hey Pat you wanna know something even more cool?” He whispered to the bubbly trait. “What?” Patton questioned eagerly.

Virgil smiled and said, “I'm holding the whole universe in my arms.”
