Logan woke with a start.

Tears trailed down his cheeks, his chest heaved raggedly, and his hair stuck to his forehead with sweat.

He turned his attention to the figure lying beside him and immediately grabbed at them. His hand tightly grasped onto one of their shoulders.

“Patton?” His voice was thick with extracts of sleep and desperation, his heart pounded hard against his chest, and he could not stop the endless flow of tears that blurred his vision. When he didn't get a quick response he began to shake the sleeping trait, his breathing spiraled out of control and his hands began to tremble.

Patton soon stirred from his slumber and quickly sat up when he realized that he was being shaken. When he saw that it was Logan who was shaking him he let out a sigh of relief and frowned when he saw the state his boyfriend was in.

He was crying and shaking, his breathing was sporadic.

Patton had never seen Logan like that before, and that scared him.

He immediately took hold of Logan's hands and scooted closer to him to get his attention. “Logan! Logan it's okay love, calm down, I'm here, it's all going to be okay.” Patton said in a calm tone as be brought him into a tight embrace, his hand ran up and down his shaking back in an attempt to calm him.

Logan nearly cried out when he was brought into his boyfriend's arms, the embrace was so calming and reassuring, letting him know that it was all just a bad dream, that his Patton was still alive and well. Logan wrapped his arms around him and hugged him tight, he pressed his face between the crook of his neck and his shoulder and just sat there soaking in his warmth and security.

Relishing the great relief he felt and happiness that soon followed after while Patton comforted him and helped him through his small panic attack. “You okay Logi?” The now concerned trait asked wearily, in response Logan nodded and reluctantly pulled back from the embrace so that he could fully look at his boyfriend. “I am now.” He breathed and gave him a small reassuring smile.

Patton returned the smile and cupped his cheek, as he did so he wiped away his remaining tears. “Did you have a bad dream?” He questioned with a raised brow. Logan nodded once again. “One that I'd rather not talk about.” He said and leaned into his touch. Patton nodded and leaned forward and pressed a sweet kiss on his cheek, but Logan was having none of that.

When Patton pulled back he quickly took hold of his arm and pulled him into a much needed kiss which took the bubbly trait by surprise, but eventually he melted into the kiss and tangled his fingers within Logan's tousled hair. They both pulled away to catch their breath and stared into each others eyes.

“You will always be my sunshine.” Logan whispered.

Patton tilted his head to the side. “What's that?” He hummed.

Logan sighed and shook his head. “It's nothing, I'm just so very happy.” He admitted and wrapped himself in Patton's arms. “Can you promise me something?” He mumbled into his shoulder. “Anything.” Patton replied.

“Promise that you'll stay by my side no matter what, that you won't go anywhere I can't follow.” Logan pleaded.

Patton was a little concerned and a bit confused, but it hurt him to see and hear the pain his lover was going through, so he agreed. “I promise.” He assured.

“I will never leave you, no matter what.”

That was all Logan needed to finally calm down, he sagged tiredly in Patton's arms, his exhaustion now fully taking its toll on him. “You can sleep now love, when you wake up I'll be here. And you'll be here with me.” Patton lied down, bringing Logan down with him,  and pulled the blanket over them before once again wrapping his arms around him.

He kissed his forehead and stroked his hair. “Sleep now, I'll be here, and you'll be here..” He trailed off and yawned before continuing.

“Safely tucked in my arms where you belong.”

With the rhythmic and soothing feeling of Patton's fingers running through his hair, Logan drifted off once more.

This time he dreamt about him and Patton, both sitting together in a beautiful meadow, holding onto each other, underneath the warm sunshine.
