Character death, this is angst, pure angst. I'm sorry.

Logan held back his pain filled sobs as he held a pale and weak Patton in his arms. When he noticed the tired look in the trait's eyes he quickly cupped his face in his hands. “No no, Patton stay with me, please, Roman is on his way so just hang on.” Logan begged desperately, but they both knew Roman was far from close.

In response Patton coughed, coating his bottom lip with thick blood. Logan was quick to act and hurriedly wiped away the blood, and then he slightly sat Patton up which earned him a heart wrenching whimper. “I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.” Logan apologized and held Patton closer to him. “Logi...” Patton rasped and leaned his head against his shoulder, his eyes half lidded. “It's going to be okay...” He whispered.

Logan pressed his hand harder against Patton's wound. “It is, just hang on.” He replied with a pleading tone and teary eyes. “..Let me sing to you..” Patton weakly offered, a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

His singing always calmed Logan down.

Now was a time to calm him.

Logan shook his head in protest. “No, save your energy, don't strain yourself.” He demanded. But Patton was always a stubborn person, he parted his lips and began to sing as the life slowly drained from his eyes.

“You are my sunshine...”

Logan couldn't stop his tears, he could no longer hold them back.

“My only sunshine.”

Patton weakly lifted his hand up and rested it against Logan's flushed and tear streaked cheek.

His smile grew ever so slightly.

“You make me happy, when skies are grey.”

By now, Patton's vision had grown fuzzy, his hand slipped from Logan's cheek and his body went numb.

Logan took hold of his hand and held it tight.

Yet he still continued.

“....You'll never know dear....”

He huffed, now struggling to catch his breath.

“How much I love you...”

Patton was not able to finish his song, he had grown so tired.

So sleepy...

Logan was full on sobbing by then, but he decided to finish the song for his dying lover.

“So please don't take...” He swallowed the lump in his throat.

And then, Patton drifted off.

His eyes closed, and his chest fell as he took his final breath.

“My sunshine...”

Logan hugged him tight, crying into his shoulder. And with trembling lips, he finished the song.

“..Away..”
