(Logicality) love is blind and so am I
Okay since I love you guys so much I'll try to complete all the suggestions from my last chapter the best I can. Some may be horrible, but I'll try to make them awesome, just for you guys! So I hope you enjoy!
The man took a calming breath, his fingers hovering above the keys of the majestic and grand instrument. He sat comfortably on a polished bench, his posture straight and yet slightly hunched. The spotlight shone on him, and the audience suddenly went silent, he nearly smiled at the silence knowing well enough that he was now the center of attention.
Without a second more he began to play, his fingers dancing on the keys, his body swaying with with the music, his heart burning with passion.
From afar a younger man sat within the audience, his clouded eyes wide, his mouth slightly open ajar. The music that came from the person playing on the grand piano was absolutely stunning, and so moving. He could feel his heart throb with each key that was pressed, his hands gripped onto the armrests of his seat which was the only thing that kept him from leaping into the air.
Suddenly the light, happy tune drastically changed to a much more darker, somber tone and the man quietly gasped and settled back down onto his seat. Sadness. That's what he heard, what he felt. Why was this person in pain? Who had hurt them? His smile was turned upside down, he could familiar sting of tears prick at the corners of his eyes. His heart throbbed painfully now, and the only thing he wanted to do now was to run over to the stage and hug the person.
“Hey, who is this guy?” Patton heard a girl beside him ask someone, “that's Logan Sanders, he's very famous in the classical Music Industry.” A woman replied. Patton felt his heart skip a beat. So it was a he? He blocked out the rest of their conversation and focused on the music that swam around his head nearly causing him to sway to one side.
Logan Sanders. He thought. Such an elegant name.
Patton allowed himself to be taken by the music, allowed his heart to go through the many emotions, his ears almost ringing at such bliss. And when it ended he was left silently begging for more. He wobbly stood up and cheered as loud as he could with the rest of the audience, then when it all went silent Patton sat back down, the sound of dull feedback coming from a microphone made him slightly jump.
Patton rose a confused brow and waited, someone cleared their throat and then they spoke. “Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank each and every one of you for listening to my performance.” Patton nearly squealed. It was Logan who was speaking. His voice was so smooth, and a bit formal. He must've been a very intelligent person. A gentleman himself. As Logan continued to speak and explain about how grateful he was to be perform to them Patton couldn't help but notice how forced he sounded.
Like he was hiding somewhere as he spoke. It almost sounded like a cry for help.
And as he finally said his goodbyes Patton stood from his seat and unfolded his white cane that had been resting neatly on his lap. He felt around the rows of chairs and sighed when he found himself back at the corridor. The audience once again applauded and Logan had taken his leave. Patton soon found himself back outside with a sidewalk full of many people, he felt around the ground muttering a few apologies as he tapped the shoes of pedestrians. Though sometimes he would hit a lamppost or a chair and would apologize to that instead which earned a few laughs from people passing by.
Patton hummed Logan's song to himself as he walked down the familiar path he grew to memorize over the years. He was always a fan of classical music and he would always go to the theatre to listen to the beautiful music, it was difficult at first, getting used to the path that led to the theater, but eventually he grew to remember it like the way to his home.
As he walked down the empty alleyway Logan had just finished packing his stuff. He exited through the back of the theater to avoid the large crowd and was rather pleases to see that the alley was empty, he sighed and fixed his tie as he walked out of the building, his head down and his hands shoved into his pockets. He abruptly turned around to start his stroll back to his car when suddenly somebody harshly bumped into him, a small yelp was given and Patton suddenly fell to the ground with a harsh thump.
He gasped and desperately felt around the floor, his heart raced against his chest and a small frightful whimper escaped from his lips. Logan immediately apologized and offered a hand to the scared male. “I'm so sorry, here let me help you up.” Patton froze at the voice and looked up, he looked around, a confused yet terrified look plastered on his face. “Uhm...” He blushed in embarrassment.
Logan frowned and took a closer look at the man the first thing he noticed were his eyes, they were clouded. Damaged.
He was blind. That explained the frightened look he held.
At that Logan quickly saw the cane that rested beside his feet finally acknowledging its presence. He guessed Patton must've dropped it as soon as he fell. He grabbed the cane and then he gently took hold of Patton's hand, the touch sent a tingling sensation up his arm. “Here you go, I'm terribly sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going.” Logan once again apologized and handed Patton back his cane. “That's fine, I mean, I never look where I'm going either.” He joked and quietly giggled.
Logan immediately flushed red. This man was just so darn cute. “Ah, I'm Logan. Logan Sanders. Really, if you need help with anything I'd be willing to help.” He offered kindly. Patton lit up, and he gasped. “You're Logan!? The Logan!? Oh my goodness I'm so sorry I bumped into you, you're not hurt are you!?” He screeched anxiously. Logan chuckled. “I'm completely fine, may I have your name?” He asked politely.
Patton quickly nodded. “Of course! It's Patton. Patton Hart.” He sighed and gave Logan a bright smile. Logan melted at the sight. “It's a pleasure to meet you.” He stated. Patton blushed deeply and shifted his weight from side to side. “It's not everyday that you meet one of the most famous pianists.” He mumbled. “You listened to my performance?” Logan questioned, a look of surprise crossing his features.
Patton nodded. “It was absolutely beautiful, but...” He frowned which worried Logan. “Your music holds a message behind it. I felt it shift, from happiness to sadness. And then it just continued on with such a somber tone, my heart felt heavy. I actually cried, and I so desperately wanted to hug you.” Patton explained with a small, sad smile. Logan, however, stayed quiet.
“Your music held so much pain, and I wanted to know who hurt you. I wanted to know why.” Patton pursed his lips and shook his head. “I know I shouldn't be invading your private life, but I just want to know, are you okay?” He asked quietly. Logan had to take a while to regain his composure before he responded. “I don't think so Patton. I don't think I ever will.” He replied quietly.
Patton bit his lip. “What happened?” He mumbled.
“....Love happened.” Logan replied bitterly.
“I thought we were in love, we were happy, and then he fell in love with someone else. I was forgotten, nothing else but a happy memory. I kept asking myself why, perhaps I could change my appearance, change who I once was. But nothing worked.” Logan felt his eyes burn. He growled and quickly wiped the tears away. “Love, is a lie.” He spat. Patton winced at the pure, raw pain in Logan's voice.
“Logan, love is not what people think of each other. It's not based on looks or appearance. Love is about loving someone for who they are rather than what they look like.” Patton explained.
And then. He smiled like nothing was wrong in the world. “Love is blind, and so am I.” He laughed happily. “And the sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll be able to heal.” He promised. Logan felt his heart swell, the beautiful blind man that stood in front of him, smiling happily was enough to bring back his tears, he felt so relieved, like a massive weight was lifted from his shoulders. It felt like he knew Patton for years like they were friends, close friends, yet they had just met mere minutes ago. “Patton.” Logan finally spoke. “I would like to get to know you better.” He said in a pleading tone.
Patton froze, his heart was going crazy and his face was a bright pink. “Y-yeah okay, um, how about I meet you at the café across the theater tomorrow at noon?” He offered timidly. Logan smiled. “I would love that.” He agreed and took Patton's hand. “Until we meet again, Patton please get home safely.” He kissed his knuckles and laughed at the shocked expression on Patton's face. “can't wait for tomorrow...” Patton squeaked.
“I'll be waiting, it's been an honor to have met you. You really have changed my life. I suppose it's because I never had anyone tell me that love was more than what I thought. You really are something special.”
And even though Patton tried to deny it Logan refused to believe that someone as pure and innocent as Patton existed.
But there was many things he didn't know.
And so, after exchanging numbers, the two went their separate ways, but both went home that night with thoughts of each other and planned for the future ahead of them.
And, as much as they both would deny it upon being asked publicly, they both wished their future included them being together.
