(Logicality) Beautiful

It was a pleasant day out, the sun was shining gracefully, the sky was as gorgeous as ever, the grass was a lively green, the flowers and trees swayed with the wind granting them an expression of entree and exhilaration. Logan sat with Patton on a park bench, the bubbly male hummed lightly as he looked out to the world, not necessarily looking at anything in general, just...looking. Logan breathed and reached for Patton's hand, said male flinched at the sudden touch and turned his head somewhat towards Logan, he grinned so vividly it put the sun to shame.

Logan felt his heart skip a beat, he blushed red and gave Patton's hand a small squeeze. “It's a beautiful day, isn't it? I can smell the freshly cut grass, and the wind feels so pleasant, not too warm and not too cold.” Patton clarified with a delicate expression. “The sun is blazing so brightly.” Logan felt his heart clench with anguishing pain while Patton beamed as though the world had no faults, as though life was perfect and fair. “It is beautiful, isn't it, Logan?” Patton murmured questionably, pausing for a response from Logan who choked on a sob, he bit down hard on his lip not wanting to trouble Patton with his out of control sentiments. “Logan?”

The intellectual cleared his throat before recollecting his stability, he caught a shallow breath and nodded. “Yes. It's very beautiful, darling.” He scooted closer to Patton who giggled at his tenuous voice. “Did I make you nervous?” He drooped his head against Logan's shoulder and sighed contently, Logan remained silent and watched as the birds flew across the sky and the flowers danced with the wind. Tears suddenly filled his eyes, it wasn't fair. It just wasn't fair.

“I'm getting hungry Logi, how about that picnic?” Patton suggested after a long moment of peaceful silence, Logan dried his eyes and quickly stood up. “That'd be satisfactory.” He agreed and tentatively stood in front of Patton, the bright man paused before rising. He looked around with a small perplexed pout, “is something wrong love?” Logan asked curiously, Patton twirled his head up at him. “Oh, no, I'm fine. I just...” he sighed and shifted dismally from where he sat. “”What is it?" Logan queried with a tone of matter. Patton knitted his eyebrows together in question, “did you enjoy the view? Truly?” The question threw Logan off guard, he would've fallen over if it weren't for Patton who clumsily reached for and took his trembling hand.

Patton turned his eyes upon Logan, they both locked eyes.

“Did you enjoy the view, Logan?” He repeated with an almost desperate tone in his soft voice.

Logan gulped the lump in his throat, blinked away the sting of tears behind his eyes, and took a shuddering breath. “I enjoyed every second.”

Patton visibly sagged, and a wide wobbly smile spread across his face. “Good.” He giggled and tugged his hand away to wipe at his teary eyes. “I'm really happy.” He confessed tearfully and urged himself to calm down, when he finally pulled himself together he stood up and from his pocket pulled out a white cane. Logan waited as he unfolded it and tied the strap around his wrist, Patton made sure the cane was stable before he outstretched his hand for Logan to take, which he did.

Together they both strolled towards a field fit for a perfect picnic, and as they walked Logan didn't look at the delicacy that surrounded him and Patton, because all the beauty he needed and had was standing right next to him. For that reason his heart ached once more, he truly yearned for Patton to see the scarce elegance of the earth, but he seemed fairly satisfied when Logan was happy and because of that Logan promised to himself that he would always keep that smile on Patton's face.

He stopped in his tracks and quickly pulled Patton by the waist, he drew him close and pulled him into a kiss. Patton clung to Logan, his chest stirring with emotion. When they parted ways Patton was left a blushing mess and Logan couldn't be any happier than now, with Patton in his arms. “I love you, dear.” He spoke in a whisper to him, Patton squeaked and leaned closer against his chest.

Logan's chest rumbled with soft laughter, Patton lit up at the jovial sound and his heart quivered with happiness. “I love you too Logi.”

And they began again walking down the field, and all the luxuries around them became nothing compared to what they both had.

Each other.
