(Logicality) a day at the pool 2

Requested by EvelynnNightingale hope you like it!

Patton glumly swam around the pool, Roman and Virgil were holding onto each other in the deep end, and Logan was reading a book outside of the pool which resulted in Patton having no one to play with. He sighed and peered over the edge of the pool. “Logi?” He called out curiously earning himself a small hum from the intellectual trait. “Why don't you wanna swim?” He asked with a tilt of his head.

Logan flushed red and buried his nose in his book. “I...” He huffed and tapped his foot anxiously. “I'm self conscious.” He muttered. Patton pouted and quickly made his way out of the pool, with his swimming clothes now soaking and dripping wet he then proceeded to pull off the floaties he had on. After he was for sure free of any floaties he went up to Logan.

The smart trait rose a brow and looked at Patton with a confused expression. “Is there something wrong?” He asked curiously.

“You're beautiful.” Patton stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

Logan was cut short, he pursed his lips, his mind still had to process what was happening.

And then he blushed hard.

He fiddled with his tie and cleared his throat. “I-I...thank you...” He stuttered. “But if you're still not comfortable you can just come in with a shirt and swimming trunks. Like me!” Patton offered encouragingly. “I suppose.” Logan hummed in thought. “Patton! Come lend me a hand would you?” Roman called out, holding a blushing Virgil in his arms. “Sure thing kiddo! I'll be right back Logi, just please think about it okay?” With that Patton skipped off to help Roman out.

Logan eyed the prince suspiciously, was he serious about Patton pulling him out? Sure Patton was strong at times, but not as strong as he thought he was. It only took a moment to realize the mistake. But it had been too late, Patton took hold of Roman's hand and stepped back, he instantly lost his footing and fell forward. Logan's eyes widened and in an instant he was off, not bothering to remove his shoes or glasses.

Patton did not have his floaties, meaning he could not swim.

Roman quickly moved out of the way and Patton plunged into the water, Logan followed soon after and later submerged with a trembling Patton in his grasp. “Oh my gosh dad are you okay!?” Virgil shouted and struggled in Roman's arm. “I-I'm fine kiddo!” Patton assured with a small smile. He then turned his attention back to Logan who was holding him tight, his clothes were soaking wet. “Logan! You got all wet!” He gasped.

“That doesn't matter, are you okay? Does anything hurt?” Logan asked with a worried edge in his voice. Patton shook his head. “I'm okay, promise.” He reassured. Logan sighed and hugged Patton tighter. “Next time, let me take care of it okay?” He pleaded and buried his face in the crook of Patton's neck. The fatherly trait nodded once more and returned the tight hug. “Sorry.” He whimpered softly.

“Oh!” He jolted up. “You should get out, your shoes will get ruined, and your glasses are gone!” Patton squirmed in his arms. “Okay, okay. Calm down, you were the one that wanted me to get in in the first place.” Logan stated and swam to the edge where he first carried Patton on to and then he climbed out. He huffed and sat by Patton who immediately clung to him like a koala. “I should really teach you how to swim as well.” Logan explained as he gently took hold of one of his trembling hands.

Patton hummed and watched as Roman and Virgil swam together with happy smiles plastered across their faces, a feeling of sadness filled his chest and he tightened his grip on Logan's hand.

He had so badly wanted to have a good time with Logan, but in the end he had gotten himself nearly killed and dragged Logan into his own mess.

Logan quickly noticed the sad look on Patton's face, he followed his gaze to the pair in the pool and then back at him, he stood up and pulled off his shirt. Patton looked up at him and immediately blushed. “L-Logan what are you doing?” He squeaked. “I'm doing what is necessary to make you happy.” Logan replied as he kicked off his ruined shoes and soaked socks.

He then took hold of Patton's hand and helped him up from the ground. “I realized that, with you I'm not insecure or uncomfortable, I'm happy and uncaring.” He smiled. “With you by my side, all my worries go away.” Patton's blush deepened. “O-oh.” He stuttered. Logan chuckled and tugged at his hand. “Come on, let's have some fun before the sun goes down.”

And for the rest of the afternoon both Logan and Patton swam together, laughing and smiling. “Are you happy my love?” Logan asked as he carried Patton in his arms, Patton wrapped his arms around his neck and his legs around Logan's waist. He giggled and pressed their foreheads together. “With you, I always am.”
