Also I didn't know what to title this so

The thunder was so loud it shook the walls, startling Virgil and making him jump. His boyfriend, Roman, noticed his unease and sat up, hugging him. "What's wrong?" He asked, noticing him flinching again as the thunder sounded off, louder this time.

"I hate storms." He frowned, and Roman was confused.

"I thought you said you enjoyed the rain? Actually earlier you stopped me in the middle of talking because I was so loud you couldn't hear it raining." Roman pointed out, frowning as well, and Virgil shook his head.

"That's different. Rain is good, and it calms me down. Thunder and lightning? That's the worst." He explained, jumping again at the alarming noise and hiding his face in Roman's chest, covering his ears with his hands. Roman held him close, wondering if there was any way to help him to calm down. When a sudden idea occurred to him he tapped Virgil on the shoulder, getting his attention and holding up a finger, to let him know he would be back in just a second.

He stood up, Virgil watching him with wide and scared eyes as he walked away, not wanting to be left alone during the storm. When he saw Roman return with a speaker he was confused, watching him silently as he set it up. He heard music that must have been loud if he could hear it while covering his ears, removing his hands from his ears and asking Roman what he was doing.

Roman didn't answer for a minute, then turned to face Virgil with a smile, offering him his hand that Virgil hesitantly took. "You can't hear the thunder now, right? Let's dance until the storm stops."

Virgil shook his head, smiling back at Roman and standing to join him, both of them dancing around and listening to the loud music that Virgil thought was definitely an improvement from the sudden thunder and lightning. He still flinched whenever he saw the flashes of lightning or when he could hear the faint rumbling of thunder, but he tried to pay attention to the music, tuning out anything else. He payed attention to Roman, and how they were moving and laughing and smiling, he payed attention to how much he loved him.

He realized that with Roman by his side, thunder storms would never be quite as bad as normal.

Idk how exactly I did on this, but the thunder scared me and I was blaring my music to ignore it and then this happened so. Yeah.

ALSO WOW I FORGOT ABOUT MY FAVORITE BAND FOR A WHILE BUT HOLY CRAP I STILL LOVE THEM SO MUCH ICON FOR HIRE IS AMAZING
