Restless Mind (Logic x Morality)

Logan couldn't sleep.

It certainly wasn't because he wasn't tired, that was for sure. Logan was exhausted. The problem was, Logan's mind never seemed to want to turn off. He would lay in bed, staring at the ceiling for hours, and his thoughts just kept running. It seemed they would never come to an end.

By 3AM, Logan was sick of staring at the same blank white ceiling for hours, and decided to get out of bed. It wasn't as if lying there was doing him any good. He might as well find something else to do.

Logan grabbed a book and headed to the living area, hoping maybe a change of surroundings and something to focus on would allow him to focus, and possibly manage to rest. However, the words on the pages seemed to all blur together, running into each other and making no sense to Logan at all. He didn't even realize his mind was drifting until he got to the end of his chapter and realized he hadn't understood a word of it. There was no point in going back to understand, reading was out of the question tonight.

He looked around for anything else to do, perhaps he could make some tea to help him to sleep, or exercise to make himself more tired. Though none of that seemed helpful now, as it wasn't his body that needed to tire out, but rather his mind. He wasn't quite sure how to stop that.

"Logan..? Is that you?" A voice from the hall made him jump, turning to find a tired Morality standing in his onesie, rubbing at his tired eyes and squinting at Logan. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing Morality, I simply can not sleep. I apologize if I woke you, you can return to bed." Logan frowned, he hadn't meant to be loud. He wondered how he woke Morality. Morality frowned back at him.

"You can't sleep? Well, maybe I can help. You know how to fall asleep?" Morality grinned.

"Morality I do not need a-"

"A bedtime story!" Morality grinned at him. "Come on, Logan. It's something to focus on, a noise to distract you. You don't know if it'll work until you try it." He urged, and Logan pondered for a moment.

"I suppose you are right, it's impossibly to know without testing it. And.. I'm out of other options, clearly." Logan pushed his glasses up and sighed, frowning still. Morality smiled gently at him.

"If it doesn't work we can try something else. And if you can't sleep and don't know what to do, I'll stay up with you! It'll be fun." He nudged Logan's shoulder, eyes lit up. Logan's frown faltered, and a small smile broke through. Morality always seemed able to shatter his emotionless facade.

"There ya go! C'mon Logan, I know a great bedtime story I can read!"

****

Logan felt like a child. He had been tucked in by Morality(the parent had insisted), and was currently being read a story about Little Red Riding Hood. It took everything Logan had not to point out the ridiculousness of it, but surprisingly he found listening to the story actually helped him. When this story ended, Morality looked at Logan and smiled.

"It's working. You're getting sleepier."

"Am-" Logan paused to yawn. "I am not. Listening to bedtime stories is childish, and I.." Another yawn.

Morality chuckled, and Logan sighed.

"Stay in here with me?" Logan murmured, and Morality looked surprised.

"Why? Are you worried about something?" He questioned.

"No.. I simply don't want to make you walk back to your own room after you've helped me. You did not have to do that," Yawning again. "Thank you, Morality."

Morality chuckled and took the spot next to Logan after he shifted over to make room. Of course, he wasn't going to point out the fact that his room was right across from Logan's; if the other wanted him to stay, then he would be happy to do so.

He noticed that Logan still hadn't quite drifted off yet, and started to him softly. A noise in the background to help him fall asleep the rest of the way, which seemed to work very quickly. It wasn't long until Logan's breathing had evened out, his lips parted as light snores escaped him. Morality smiled at the sight, finding Logan adorable, and slowly settling down himself. He continued humming until he could hum no more, breaking off until he himself had fallen asleep.
