Patton had gotten very little sleep that night. He hadn't been able to relax, and kept thinking about everything he had to do the next day. He had finally dozed off when his alarm sounded, and he realized it was time for him to get up.

He really didn't want to get out of bed. He wished he could stay under the warm and comfortable blanket so that he could drift back into sleep, but however much he wanted to he knew he couldn't. He had to be up and ready to make breakfast for the three sides, and he had to make sure that everyone was okay, as he always did.

So, he reluctantly crawled out of bed, making it and then heading into the kitchen to get started on making food. He was very distracted, and that made it difficult to get things prepared, but he had to get it done, so he pushed through. He didn't expect anyone to get up for a while, so it was a surprise when he heard Roman speak up from behind him after he had gotten distracted.

"You should be careful. You've already almost caught something on fire twice in the time I've been standing here." Roman startled Patton, and he jumped, whirling around to face him.

"I wasn't expecting you to be up." He muttered, confused.

"This is the time I'm usually awake." Roman pointed out, and Patton looked to the clock for the time. Oh. He was being really slow that morning, he wasn't even aware that much time had passed.

"Oh." Was all he said, frowning and turning back to making breakfast. When Roman noticed Patton about to set his hand down on the still very hot stove he quickly rushed over, taking his hand and leading him away from the stove.

"Okay, Patton, you just... go sit down, I'll finish making food. Then we're gonna talk about what's wrong, okay?" Roman smiled at Patton, pointing him towards the table and walking back over to the food.

"There's nothing wrong," Patton yawned, and Roman just hummed, not quite believing him. It didn't take long for him to finish up, making a plate for Patton and himself and walking over to sit down next to him. He found Patton with his head on the table, almost asleep.

"Did you sleep last night?" Roman asked gently, setting his plate down in front of him. Patton didn't look up.

"Yeah." He mumbled.

"How much?" Roman tried again. Patton stayed quiet for a while.

"Maybe five minutes?" He shrugged.

"Why didn't you just stay in bed, then? The rest of us can feed ourselves, you know. Sleeping is important, and none of us want you to feel bad." Roman frowned.

"Yeah, but I just wanted to make sure I'm there for you all. I'm okay, I just wanted to help." Patton insisted.

"You already do so much for us Patton, you deserve a break. None of us will mind. Take a day to relax, and get some sleep." Roman urged him. "Here, why don't we finish eating and then I'll help you back to your room to lie down. Patton I swear, I will drag you back there to go to sleep if I must."

Patton couldn't help but smile, happy that Roman cared so much for him. He agreed, and ate his breakfast, Logan and Virgil soon joining them at the table.

As soon as they had finished Roman stood up and held out a hand for Patton to take, leading him back to his bedroom. Patton sleepily stumbled into things, so Roman had to be careful not to let him get hurt.

He got the tired trait into bed, asking him if he would be alright or if he needed anything before he left. Patton looked nervous.

"Actually... would you mind staying in here with me?" He looked up at Roman, cheeks burning. "I just, I dunno if I'm gonna be able to sleep or not, but it'd be nice to have someone to just lay with me. You don't have to."

Roman didn't say anything, just smiled and pulled back the blankets so he could lay down next to Patton. "Of course. Anything you need, I'm here for you Patton."

"Thanks Roman." Patton smiled, face still burning a bright red as Roman wrapped his arms around him, Patton holding him back. He felt Roman press a kiss to his forehead, and it didn't take long for him to drift off, feeling safe and protected in his arms.

I dunno what made me wanna write for this ship but it's kinda cute tbh. Like honestly you can't say that Roman wouldn't be super freaking protective over Patton okay it's cute and I like it

Okay so honestly today would have really really sucked for me today but thanks to my two friends I'm actually still in a pretty okay mood. Well like, it's weird it's like... I'm kinda good, like I'm happy right now, but honestly if something even slightly upsetting happens I'll probably start crying again

Which is why I'm just gonna wrap up in my warm blanket, avoid sad fanfic at all costs, and I'm actually probably also gonna get some sleep soon 'cause having an anxiety attack and crying and also only getting a few hours of sleep at night really makes you tired y'know? So yeah. I'm just gonna. Do that. 

I also need to work on my grandpas book, I'm helping him look through it for mistakes. It's really long but I wanna get it done tonight cause I know he wants it done soon and I don't want him to feel like I don't wanna do it cause I'm happy to help him out. So that's what I'm gonna spend my time doing tonight. Sounds like fun. I also am pretty sure I have earned a cookie or three so I'm gonna get those too.
