Rain (Prince x Anxiety)

I started writing this as a short story about myself so if I mess up anywhere in the beginning forgive me, I probably just forgot to change it ^•^

The sound of water pelting the roof filled Anxiety's ears, the occasional booming of thunder heard rolling above him. He enjoyed sitting out here, just listening to the rain outside.

He extended an arm, letting the droplets of water fall onto his hand, taking a deep breath. He loved everything about the rain, the sound, the feel, even the smell of it. It all calmed him, and he wished it would rain more often.

He sighed, pulling his knees up to his chest and resting his arms on top of them, sitting safely under a roof, away from the rain. He felt his eyelids grow heavy, and let them fall, drifting off outside listening to the falling rain.

Prince was frantically searching all of Thomas' mind for Anxiety. He didn't usually worry about him, he always stayed in his room, but when Roman had checked his room to invite him to movie night with the others, Anxiety wasn't there. Roman had to admit, while they fought often, he did care for the other just as much as he did Logic and Morality. If he was being honest with himself, he knew he cared for him even more than that.

He had informed the others Anxiety was missing, and they were searching as well, just as frantic as Roman. The three of them had searched everywhere at least twice, and Anxiety was no where to be found.

Roman suddenly wondered if he had ventured outside the mind; maybe Thomas had even seen him.

He had quickly popped up in his usual spot, looking around the house. He found Thomas asleep-it was pretty late-but Anxiety was no where. He searched a second time, and was about to search a third when he thought to check outside.

He had only just noticed the sound of rain, in his panic he hadn't noticed. Didn't the rain calm anxiety? He remembered vaguely hearing something like that from Logan. Perhaps he had gone outside? He had to check, at least.

So, Roman made his way to the door, opening it and letting out a relieved sigh. There on the porch Anxiety slept, huddled up and shaking. Roman sighed, leaning down and, being careful not to wake him, lifting him up in his arms. He never looked as peaceful as he did now while he was awake; Roman was definitely going to let him rest.

"I really hope he doesn't do this again.." Roman muttered to himself, carrying Anxiety back inside, kicking the door shut. "He might get sick. And if he does, I will not be the one taking care of him."

Anxiety stirred as he spoke, and Roman quickly fell silent, hoping he wouldn't wake up as he took Anxiety to his room.

Unfortunately, as he saw his eyes slowly opening, Roman knew hoping was pointless. "What are you doing..?" Anxiety questioned, and Roman winced.

"Well, you fell asleep outside, so I thought I'd bring you back to your room." Roman explained, hoping to drop the subject.

"You.. didn't have to carry me. You should have just woken me up..." Anxiety muttered. Prince had to hide a smile as he saw the boy's cheeks were a pale pink.

"Well, you looked so content I didn't want to bother you." Prince finally came to a stop outside Anxiety's door. "Would you like me to set you down now, or shall I tuck you into bed?" He raised an eyebrow, smirk tugging at his lips.

Anxiety rolled his eyes. "Just put me down.." he mumbled. Prince's smirk widened as he noticed the blush grow darker. He enjoyed seeing Anxiety blush-it was adorable, and he hoped it meant his affections were requited-and he decided he wanted to see him even more flustered.

"Anything you want, Anxiety." Roman gently lowered Anxiety to his feet, taking a hold of his hand and bringing it up to his lips as he kneeled down, pressing a kiss to the back of it. He smiled up at the trait, who stared at him for a moment with wide eyes before quickly looking away, clearing his throat.

"S-stop that." He muttered. "You're acting stupid."

"You're still holding my hand, it doesn't appear that you mind my actions at all." Prince pointed out. Anxiety glanced at their hands, up to Roman again, and then away as he let go of Prince's hand.

"...why are you being so.... weird, tonight?" Anxiety questioned him, and the royal shrugged.

"You are.. very cute, when you're embarrassed." Prince admitted, smiling awkwardly at Anxiety, who hid his face in his hands at the comment.

"I am not cute." He spoke softly, his voice muffled. Prince wasn't quite sure how he heard him.

"You're right." Roman nodded, and Anxiety sighed. Of course he was just messing with him.

"You're adorable." Prince muttered, taking a hold of Anxiety's hands with his own and pulling them away from his face. He stepped closer to Anxiety, taking a deep breath. "Actually, I've thought that for a while now. Though, when we're constantly arguing over something silly I don't get the chance to mention it. Just never seems like a good time." He chuckled awkwardly.

Anxiety watched him carefully, unable to tell if he really was speaking the truth, or if this was all some big joke. He didn't know what to say; so he said nothing. He did, however, find himself moving closer to Prince as well.

"You're adorable when you smile." Roman continued speaking, still moving ever closer to Anxiety. "When you talk, when you blush, when you sleep. You're just..." Roman paused, faces barely an inch apart.

"Adorable." He breathed. Suddenly, Anxiety was the one who brought them both together, lips connected in a long-lasting kiss, arms wrapping their way around each other, and eyes sliding closed. Anxiety felt the door at his back as Prince stepped as close as possible, bodies pressed against each other.

It was a while before the two broke apart, Roman grinning widely while Anxiety hid a minuscule smile.

"You're an idiot.." Anxiety mumbled, to hide his embarrassment at what just happened.

"If you'd like, I could be your idiot." Prince offered, still holding Anxiety close to him. Anxiety hid his face in Prince's shoulder.

"My idiot Princey." Anxiety mumbled. "Sounds nice."

Roman was very glad rain existed.

Aahh, I would really like some feedback at the moment.
