High school au thingy sorta. So yes this means that thEY FUCKING LOOK DIFFERENT WHY MUST EVERYONE COMMENT ON THAT WE KNOW THEY LOOK THE SAME
ahem.
Sorry. ALSO NO IM NOT TAKING REQUESTS STOP LEAVING THEM YOU'RE STRESSING ME OUT

Roman was woken up to a loud and sudden noise. For a moment he wasn't sure what it was, he was tired and confused, and his first thought was to reach for his sword he kept by his bed in case it was something dangerous. After standing up and waving his sword around for a minute he realized it was his phone, feeling embarrassed and very relieved no one had seen that. After setting his sword back down he picked up his phone on the table beside his bed, looking at it and being confused at seeing who was calling.

Virgil? The two of them never talked-they weren't exactly close friends. Why did he even have his number?

Right, Roman remembered. Class project a while ago. So why was he calling him at three AM?

Reluctantly, Roman answered the phone, putting it up to his ear. "Hello?"

"Hey Patton, sorry to bother you, I know it's late and I know you said you don't mind but I still feel like I should apologize. Anyways, I just had a really bad nightmare and I'm... kinda freaking out over here, is it okay if we talk for a bit until I calm down?" Virgil rushed out, not giving Roman any chance to speak and explain that it wasn't his friend Patton he was talking to.

"Virgil?" Roman questioned as soon as he stopped talking for a second. "It's not Patton, this is Roman."

There was a very long pause for a moment, and Roman couldn't hear anything on the other side of the phone. It didn't even sound like Virgil was breathing.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry," Virgil breathed out, sounding terrified. Roman could hear him sniffling, and assumed he was probably crying. "I'll leave you alone now, I didn't mean to wake you up, I-"

"Virgil, it's alright." Roman cut him off. "You said you need someone to talk to, right? Well, I don't think I'm going back to sleep anytime soon. Unless you just, don't want to talk to me, which is fair. We don't exactly get along, but I'd feel awful to just do nothing when you're feeling bad."

It fell silent again, all except for Virgil's occasionally sniffles from crying. "As... as long as you don't mind, anything to possibly distract me would be nice."

"Alright," Roman nodded although Virgil couldn't see him. He laid back on his bed, still holding the phone up to his ear. "I know you said you'd like a distraction, but would you like to talk about your nightmare first? It helps, sometimes." He asked him, also feeling slightly curious.

"It... well, it sounds stupid." Virgil muttered.

"You don't have to tell me. Just know, I won't judge you." Roman comforted.

"Well... the guy I like, he was in it. He... well he died, and it was my fault." Virgil's voice wavered, and Roman could hear him sniffling again. "It's dumb. Most nightmares are, but... well, I worry too much. I'm sure you've noticed."

"It's not dumb," Roman shook his head. "Nightmares are no fun, I understand. They happen. It's scary."

"Yeah," Virgil choked out, obviously holding back more tears.

"So, a distraction, you said you wanted. Well why don't we talk about..." Roman brought up any random subject that popped into his head, telling jokes, and funny stories, talking to Virgil about anything and everything. After a while he could hear Virgil laughing, and although he didn't really need to stay on anymore neither of them said anything about getting off the phone. They were perfectly content to talk and laugh all night, and that's exactly what they did.

It didn't seem like a long time before the sun was peering in through Roman's blinds, and he glanced at the clock to find that it was morning now. He pointed this out to Virgil, who sounded surprised that it was already so bright out.

"I didn't think we had talked for that long... shit, I'm sorry for keeping you up all night. I'm sure you're tired." Virgil apologized, sounding worried about.

"No, no, it's fine. I... had fun." He mumbled awkwardly, feeling nervous, but also happy that he had gotten to talk to him for so long. "It was nice. Talking to you."

Virgil didn't say anything for a minute. "Yeah." He said at last. "It was really nice. Thank you."

"It's no problem. Are you gonna get off and get some more sleep now?" Roman asked.

"I'm gonna try." He answered honestly. "You gonna go back to sleep too?"

"Probably, yeah." Roman nodded. "I hope you can sleep well."

"Thanks. Same to you." Virgil said. There was a pause, neither of them knowing whether they should say something else or just hang up already.

"Hey, Virgil?" Roman spoke up after a while. "If... if you ever need anything again, like tonight, you can call me alright? If Patton's not awake, or something. I'm here for you." He offered, nervously messing with his sleeves.

"Thanks. That's really nice of you to offer." Virgil sounded surprised, and happy. "I.. might take you up on that, if I need it. Talking to you is kinda fun."

"It's definitely fun to talk to you." Roman smiled. "So, talk another time then?"

"Yeah." Roman hoped Virgil was smiling too. "Talk another time."

Well okay dunno why I randomly decided to write this but

It's almost 12, I'm tired, I kinda wanna cry, kinda wanna die, and I'm probably just gonna end up reading and/or writing my outline all night. Sounds fun right? Anyways, that means I'm gonna get off of here for now.

Please don't request anything else. Remember that, when requests are open or whatever, I will not write anything with depression, suicide, self harm, or abuse in it. And please...... stop asking me to write smut it ain't happenin okay I haven't even had sex how am I supposed to write that shit

I was gonna say that I might not do the requests I currently have but... then I realized, there's a lot of requests right now, and that's a lot of people I'd feel like I let down, so, uh, y'know. I'll get around to all of them eventually, I promise.

I don't honestly know what's bothering me lately. I've just felt like complete shit. It's hard to explain, so I just like, don't talk to anyone about it. I'm just sad and unmotivated, so I apologize in advance for any vent writing, vents in author's notes, or if I just don't upload often. I'm finding it difficult lately to even get out of bed, so, you know. Plus, I have schoolwork now.

Okay, I hope that you enjoyed this. Thanks for reading. *octopus gives you eight ring pops and swims off into the sunset*

That's a very creative and awesome ring pop suggestion, I like it haha.

I believe in you. Take care of yourself, I love you so so much. Hope you all have a great night. Bye-Bob
