Villains arent always the bad guy
Applepancakes18 my friend, gave me a prompt- and I made it to this- also- kinda a teaser to a new book coming out soon- enjoy!
Logan smiled softly, his hand running through Virgil's hair. However, he frowned when Virgil flinched away in pain.
"Is something wrong?" Logan asked softly, pulling his hand away. Virgil grabbed Logan's hand, trying not to move too much to make sure Janus, who was sleeping curled into his side, didn't wake.
"No, no, nothing's wrong." Virgil blurred out, giving a soft squeeze to Logan's hand.
"You do know that I'm a villain not an idiot, right?" Logan said with narrowed eyes, rubbing a soft circle into Virgil's hand. Virgil sighed, looking down and over at Janus, who was using his own small wings to act as a blanket as Roman hadn't come back with it yet.
"Let me see."
"It's nothing, really--"
"Let me see," Logan said again, softly holding Virgil's face. Virgil sighed, looking at Janus before looking to Logan. Logan nodded softly, using his telekinesis to slowly lift Janus without bugging the young boy. Logan slowly put the boy to bed instead of sitting on the floor with Virgil, shaking his head softly. Logan raised a brow at Virgil.
"Fine... back up a little.." Virgil mumbled, slowly taking off his shirt, struggling to get it over his wings, revealing the dark electrical burns. They covered his chest, sides, arms, everywhere. Virgil sighed as the cool air eased the pain a little. Logan felt sick at the look of it all, but also felt a large amount of rage.
"Who did this to you?" Logan hissed, unable to get a hold of his emotions like normal. Virgil jumped back, scared of Logan's time, but not Logan, just the tone. Logan's eyes softened, looking down in apologies. The two looked at Roman who had just walked in, who sucked a breath in, closing his eyes tightly, laying the blanket over Janus before letting the sparks in his hands fly around in pure anger.
"What the hell happened love dove?" Roman whispered, slowly crouching down to the floor, trying to stop the sparks in his hands.
"I can't tell you that." Virgil muttered, letting his wings curl around him. "Can we- uhm- Can we let this go now?"
"Virgil... I know me and you have a little rivalry going... but this is not the time to be hiding things from me and Lo..." Roman muttered.
"I'm sorry.... I just.." Virgil said softly, not being able to finish. I promised, Virgil thought, I promised I wouldn't tell.
"You're not the one who should be sorry in this scenario," Logan muttered , stopping for a second, "Is it the so called heros? Because if those two are--"
"No, no it's not them." Virgil whispered.
"Who is it, then?" Roman asked.
Virgil shook his head quickly, hiding in their wings more, not knowing how to get out of this.
"Hey.." Logan said gently, his eyes snapping over to Janus who was fussing in the bed. His eyes glowed a little, his telekinesis picking the boy up, bringing him and the blanket over to Logan, letting Janus settle into his lap. Janus hummed with a soft smile, curling into Logan's chest. Logan sighed softly, turning back to Virgil.
"Verge... tell us?" Roman asked softly, running a gentle hand through the angels hair. Virgil looked at the two, his wings dipping down a little.
"I- I can't- I promised Morality- shit"
"No-" Roman said in anger and disbelief.
"You can't be serious!" Logan said with a growl. Virgil looked away in fear and shame, he was almost acting like when he had first got here. It broke the two "You must think I'm some kind of coward, or that I deserve it."
"I don't think any of those," Roman whispered. "We would never think that love dove..."
"Look, don't just-- go around talking about this or say something to Morality, okay? I wasn't meant to tell anyone." Virgil whispered. Logan shook his head. Roman hated how much he wanted to take Virgil and Janus' pain away. Roman wanted to bear it himself instead of his love dove. He knew it was a dangerous wish, but still.
"I won't tell anyone, but I can't say the same thing about confronting Morality" Logan growled. Glaring at the ground.
"No, you don't understand, t-they--" Virgil said panicked, his wings falling away completely
"Calm down," Roman interrupted softly, his now no longer sparking hand going up to cup Virgil's face in an attempt to ground him to reality, to stop them from panicking more. "Morality and Insanity know that I want to kill them, okay? This doesn't have to be connected to you if you don't want it to."
Virgil nodded softly, looking up at Romans eyes before looking away quickly. Roman chuckled softly, pressing a soft kiss to Virgil's hair line. Logan smiled softly at the soft affectionate Roman would show randomly.
"But if I fail to do it, then you can't go on like this." Roman muttered, brushing Virgil's hair from his face, looking back at Logan. Virgil's wings went back up, looking away from them both. He knew that constantly trying to find the good in the so called heros was just hurting the small group more and more, but they couldn't do that.
"I'm basically under their command, it's not as easy as you think." Logan growled at the thought, hating the fact Virgil was still in basically limbo between the two sides.
"Then I have to make it a kill shot," Roman said, watching as Virgil's wings slowly dipped back down.
"Thank you," Virgil whispered.
"It's nothing, darling," Roman replied in a bare whisper, his gaze lingering at Hero's face. "I'd do anything to keep you happy" Roman whispered. Virgil looked up at him quickly. Roman shook his head, going down the stairs quickly. Logan smiled softly at Virgil.
"Let's get you to bed... I'll go find some burn cream too... since you can't heal yourself and Janus is drained... okay?" Virgil nodded softly, watching as Logan placed Janus in the bed. "Do you want help?" Virgil whined with a nod. Logan chuckled softly, his eyes glowing brightly as he slowly got Virgil standing, holding his hands out to help. Virgil smiled softly, whispering a thank you to Logan as he laid in the bed. "I'll let you sleep ok?" Virgil whined, grabbing Logan's hand.
"Cuddle?" Virgil mumbled, shifting over with a wince, his wings suddenly disappearing into his back. Janus grumbled, rolling into Virgil's side. Virgil flinched at the pain it brought, grimacing a little. Logan smiled with a roll of his eyes, slowly getting into the bed with the two angels. Virgil hummed happily, cuddling into Logan's side. Falling asleep quickly. Roman came back that night with burns and what felt like a broken arm, but regardless, he laid on the other side of the bed, faking asleep along with the others.
