4 - Royality

Patton wasn't disappointed when he learned about soulmates and the string that was supposed to literally bind you to that other person. Patton learned about him as soon as he went to school, it was one of his earliest memories.

Patton was a little scared at first, why would he not have a soulmate? After expressing his concerns to his moms, they agreed to all do separate research and see what they could find.

After finding out that soulmate strings can appear on your eighteen birthday, Patton did calm down, and tried to look at the positive, as long as he had to wait, he and his soulmate would truly be together forever.

Roman was furious when he found out he didn't have a soulmate. He was around 4 when he learned about them, and the second he looked at his hand and didn't see anything he said resembling a string, he threw the biggest temper tantrum the school had ever seen. At least, that's what the school had told his parents. He got grounded for causing a ruckus and thought that was the end of it.

That night, he stole one of his dads many laptops for the first time, and tried to look up what it meant if you don't have a soulmate. He wasn't too worried about it, with Logan having more and more nightmares his parents weren't to concerned with checking in on Roman.

He didn't find solace in the fact he had to wait 14 more years to even see a string signaling a soulmate, who could have known how long it would actually take.

Roman thought it was the end of the world that day, but he couldn't have cared less when he met a boy in cooking class.

Roman had taken the class and a bunch of others to try and learn to live without maids and butlers to leave his house as soon as possible, Patton joined because who doesn't like cookies.

Roman instantly knew he didn't care about who or where his soulmate was, the man who he was assigned to sit next to was going to be his boyfriend.

It took Patton a little longer to fall in love with Roman. 45 Minutes, to be exact. After talking for one period he knew he wanted some kind of relationship with the other, but he also knew he wanted to be in love with his soulmate. He had waited 13 years already, why couldn't he wait a few more months?

Patton didn't need to wait the few months to know Roman was his soulmate. After spending three days he knew he was in way way over his head. He feel in love with him so quickly, but he could tell the feeling was going to last. After an insanely long talk about broadway, acting, baking, and dogs, Patton was planning there wedding in his head.

Roman in all honestly forgot about the string the day he woke up with it tied around his finger. All he could think was that it might be annoying to have it on and always leading in a different direction from the man he truly loved. He was scared to look beyond where it was tied in a neat little bow, the string white.

He didn't have to worry at all though, after looking at the string and knowing that a silly piece of silk had the potential to ruin his life, he looked at where it was leading, starting to laugh as he turned around and saw that it was connected to Pattons hand, which was still tucked gently under his hand.

Patton, ever the light sleeper, woke up blinking to the laughter of his boyfriend, almost screaming when he saw the white string connecting them aside from there legs were intertwined.

"I knew I should never have thought otherwise," Patton fishes as the string connects and expands to form a dove that choose to fly around the room.

"Did you really have your doubts?" Roman laughed again, overjoyed in a knowing way.

"The glass coffin gave me pause," Patton quoted, causing Roman to smile for a completely different reason.

The two kissed and continued kissing for another hour, happy together, now 200% sure they were made for each other.
