The 'Plastics' (VirgilxRomanxPattonxLogan)
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
I was inspired by the video above and made it even gayer!
Thomas knows about all the sides and everything in front of the camera is planned and acted out!!!
Warnings : Anxiety attack, slight hostage situation, mention of bruises and slight blood, but like blink and you'll miss it.
Virgil was new to the Thomas' mind. He was anxious and lived in the dark side with his friends, Deceit and Ignorance.
They were sat on a field in Thomas' mind, watching bats fly around their heads, Virgil had yet to meet the light sides, so when Virgil saw three men walk past, one in a blue shirt and gray cardigan, one in a black shirt and blue tie and another in a prince costume he turned to his friends.
"Who are they?" Asked Virgil, pointing to the three light sides.
"Don't look at them," shrieked Ignorance, and as Virgil went to ask why, he continued with, "just don't!"
Ignorance started singing, he pointed towards them, "we call those three 'The Plastics'. They're shiny, fake, and hard."
"They play their little mind games,
All around the mind-yard!" Deceit sang, waving his hands around.
"They might insult your clothing." Sang Ignorance, making Virgil pull his black jacket closer, "or make fun of your name." Virgil knew his name sounded like 'Virgin'.
"Like they mocked the side Impulse,
'Til he burst into flames." Deceits hands set on fire.
"And Impulse was the first side." Ignorance said.
"Roman Sanders is the King bee," sighed Deceit, "he's always dressed up, he always wins lead roles as Kings, we're just drones that work for him, and then die." Deceit pulled up an image of the three light sides, but of course this was Deceit.
The image was off the three sides, the one in light blue cooking, the one in black reading and the prince stood up on the table.
"My name is Roman Sanders, and I am a massive deal." Sang the image of Roman, now on the table.
"Don't fall kiddo."
"Fear me, love me," Roman sang, his hands made the shape of a heart, "stand and stare at me!"
The other two looked at him and smiled lovingly as Roman showed off his butt, "and these, these are real."
He brought out thousands of dollars, "I've got money and looks. I am, like, drunk with power!" He held up a glass of wine.
"This whole mind, humps my leg like a chihuahua!" A small chihuahua appeared in Romans arms.
"I'm the prettiest poison you've ever seen, I never weigh more than one-fifteen." As if to prove this, Roman stood on a weighing machine.
"My name is Roman Sanders, and I am a massive deal." He sang as he sat on the table, "I don't care who you are, I don't care how you feel."
Roman held out his hand and pulled up the man with a blue tie and bopped his nose, earring a smile.
"That's Logan Sanders," Deceit said, "he knows everything about everybody."
"That's why his hair is so big," smirked Ignorance, "it's full of secrets." This made Deceit and Virgil laugh.
"Yes, my Roman. No, my Roman. Every waking hour!" Logan sang as a massive clock appeared, "I spend making sure my Roman, that he can stay in power."
"If my Roman is the sun," he sang pointing to an image of the sun, "then I'm a disco ball, 'cause I'm just as bright and fun, if you've had alcohol." He took the wine from Roman and sipped it.
"I rip your secrets out of you and bring them to my master!" He leaned into Roman, who held him close and smirked.
"Then I watch my Roman make your life a big disaster!"
"Disaster!" Shrieked Deceit and Ignorance.
"Roman is the King," Roman now had a crown, "but I'm the head of worker bees, I am seated at his right hand, like a Jewish Prince Jesus!" A prince crown appeared over Logan.
"That is Patton Sanders," Deceit said, pointing to the boy in a blue shirt who was being helped up by Roman, "the dumbest side you will ever meet."
"I once saw him put a 'D' in the word 'orange'." Smirked Ignorance.
"My name is Patton, my hair is shiny! My teeth are perfect," the man smiled, ("so cute." Muttered Logan) "my pants are tight, it barely covers, my perky hiney," Patton's butt was really tight in the pants, "my name is Patton, I may not be smart... That's it."
The images disappeared and Virgil looked down, "they sound awful."
Ignorance and Deceit smirked, "they are."
Virgil stayed away from them, for as long as he could until Patton saw him on the hill, listening to music while having a panic attack.
Patton ran up to him and knelt, taking out the headphones, "kiddo?"
Virgil's head shot up, his chest tight and had difficulty breathing, "w-what?!" He hiccuped, tears rolling down his face.
Patton's eyes widened and dried his tears, "Logan?"
Logan shot up out of nowhere, "Patton? What is wro-"
"This side is having a panic attack!"
Logan knelt, "breath is for four seconds."
Virgil took a deep breath, counting in his head to four.
"Good, now hold for seven seconds."
Again, Virgil listened and held his breath, counting to seven.
"Now, breath out for eight seconds."
So, Virgil slowly breathed out, for eight seconds and counted.
"Good, keep that up." Logan said, as Patton summoned a cookie.
Once Virgil calmed down, Patton gave Virgil the freshly baked cookie, "here you go, kiddo."
"Thank you..." Virgil was panicking, Logan was probably going to use this against him, Patton had no idea what was- no... that's not right.
Patton knew Virgil was having a panic attack and called upon the smart side, who instead of rushing off to tell Roman, helped the side.
"I'm Patton and this is Logan, he's my boyfriend."
Logan could see the distresses in the side and held him up, "come on, you need to relax and being in the dark side won't help."
Virgil frowned slightly as the two helped Virgil to their place.
'Dark side?' Virgil asked himself, 'then why would they lie about them?'
Logan set Virgil on the couch and Patton got him a drink, "Roman! We're home!"
There was no response and Logan kissed Patton's cheek, "he's in imagination."
"Ah, that makes sense. I'm going to go and get a bowl of Roman's cereal."
Logan smiled, "he's still clueless about that."
Patton laughed as he walked off.
"You know? And you haven't told him?" Asked Virgil, even more confused.
"No, Patton wants me to keep a secret so I am. Now, who are you?" Logan asked.
Virgil shuffled uncomfortably, nobody knew his name, but it's the least he could do, "uhh, I don't really like people knowing... it's stupid-"
"I won't tell anyone." Logan said, the intelligent side already liked the side in black.
"It's Virgil..."
"Oh! Like the ancient Roman poet of the Augustan period, Publius Vergilius Maro, or as everyone who speaks English calls him, Virgil."
Virgil smiled, which was odd, with the others he didn't really smile, "y-yeah."
Patton walked out, "sorry, couldn't help hear, your name is Virgil? That's like frosted flakes! They're great!"
Virgil smiled and laughed lightly, something else that was rare, "thank you..."
"You're anxiety." Logan stated, earning a nod from Virgil, "it's a good thing too, as mush as we love Roman, he has some stupid ideas."
"My ideas are not stupid." Said a voice, that sounded playfully offended, "who's this? Wait, that's a dark side."
"This is Anxiety." Logan lied, "he was having an anxiety attack so, we helped him. Oh, Anxiety this is Roman."
Roman looked at Anxiety nervously, but smiled and held out his hand, he had given Deceit and Ignorance a chance and he'd do the same for this side, "geez, sounds bad, you ok now?"
Virgil's eyes widened and took the hand as they shook, "yeah, I'm good now..."
"And how are my ideas stupid? We're going to that bar on O'conner street-"
"What? O'conner street?" Asked Virgil, in worry, "you know young men go missing there five nights out of seven, right? Like, twenty guys go missing each night and half end up dead." It was no exaggeration either, it was statistics.
"That is true..." Logan said, skimming through the internet for proof.
Romans eyes widened, "heck, really? Oh, I'll cancel the plans, that sounds terrifying." Roman went off and Virgil successfully made Thomas anxious.
"Sorry..." Virgil apologised.
"Don't be, kiddo!" Smiled Patton, "if you hadn't heightened your anxiety into Thomas or warned us, who knows what would have happened?"
"Are you sure?"
Logan smiled, a rare thing he showed to anyone, even his boyfriends, "yes. If you hadn't told Roman how dangerous this party would be, Thomas could have died."
Roman came back down and sat on the couch, slightly away from Virgil to give him space, "so, do you live with the dark sides?"
"I do." Virgil answered, "they are so annoying and stupid. They are..." Virgil paused, the more he thought about it, the more he realised, the dark sides fit the description of 'The Plastics'. "Well, they're what I call 'The Plastics'."
Patton's eyebrow rose up, "the plastics? Why?"
"Well, Deceit is power hungry, he doesn't care who you are or your feelings, he thinks he owns the place and wants attention constantly. Ignorance, is someone who finds out your secrets and tells Deceit, he's basically a slave for him."
Roman frowned, "we knew they were bad but that's-"
"They convinced me you three were bad, how stupid is that?"
Patton smiled, "well, you're here now."
"I can't stay..." Virgil frowned, "they have no idea where I am, not to mention I kinda live with them."
"Are you in a relationship with them?" Asked Logan.
Virgil laughed, "god no! They are not my type." He checked the time and frowned again, "I need to go. Thanks for helping me."
"It's no problem kiddo!" Smile Patton, helping Virgil up.
"Will we see you again?" Asked Roman.
Blinking in shock, Virgil asked, "you want to see me again?"
"Well of course." Patton said, smiling.
Virgil smiled, "well in that case, sure..."
The dark side left with the promise of meeting the others tomorrow and he was all smiles the rest of the day.
It's been two months now and Virgil couldn't help but fall madly in love with the light sides.
Roman was a handsome prince, who had gentlemen qualities and made Virgil feel welcome, the prince trait warmed up to Virgil and began to send small gifts of roses and chocolates. He was not demanding like his supposed friends said, he was not controlling and he did not ruin lives. He only just found out Virgil's name, as Logan hadn't told him.
Speaking of Logan, Virgil found himself admiring the smart side when they had debates, wether they were smart or stupid. Logan kept secrets for Virgil until he felt comfortable to share. He was not a slave to Roman, on the contrary he disagreed with Roman on most things. Logan also found himself falling for the dark trait, he was dark and smart and had logical reasoning, so he'd send small poems, just a few lines expressing his love, which he wasn't used to like Patton.
And Patton, he was not stupid. He was smart in his own ways, such as being an adult and puns and emotions. He knew morality, right from wrong and helped Virgil whenever he did something that wasn't acceptable, which is why Patton was in love too. Virgil wasn't perfect and Virgil admitted it himself, but Patton loves the fact he was more down to earth.
They helped him know right from wrong and didn't think any differently of him when he did something bad, oh no. In fact, they loved him more.
It wasn't Virgil's fault, it was the dark sides.
A new side had appeared, Bargaining and Deceit and Ignorance was telling him the ropes and Virgil was frowning as they belittled his friends.
"Patton is so stupid that he spelt orange with a d." Laughed Ignorance, making Bargaining laugh as well.
"I thought that was you." Virgil spoke up, of course it was Ignorance who spelt orange wrong.
Ignorance glared at Virgil, "no, it was Patton, Anxiety."
Ah yes, Virgil doesn't always respond to 'Anxiety' since his new friends now called him by his name, "no, pretty sure it was you, considering Patton sees the word Orange a lot when making certain foods- oh wait that's right," he laughed sarcastically, "you didn't know Patron could cook."
"Then there's Roman, he's bossy and like the leader-" But, Virgil cut Deceit off, but unknowingly this time.
"Actually he's quiet a gentleman, he doesn't boss anyone around. Sure, he's a leader in imagination and with his army, but not with anyone else. He's actually sweet."
Deceit and Ignorance stared at Virgil, who asked, "what?"
"Then there's Logan, who's basically a slave to Roman and can't keep a secret-"
Again Virgil spoke up, "he never shared my name with Roman, he keeps amazing secrets and he actually disagrees with Roman-"
"Anxiety do you actually like them?" Deceit asked, laughing slightly.
He didn't respond which made Ignorance join in with the laughter, "you do!"
"Deceit, Ignorance, just drop it-"
"Even I know you shouldn't be with them." Bargaining said, coming up with an idea.
"Whatever, I'll be back later." Virgil got up and walked off towards the light side.
Bargaining smirked, "I have an idea."
Virgil arrived home at midnight after having a Disney marathon with the sides. He walked in and saw the three dark sides, sat on the black, leather couch.
"Uh, hey?"
Deceit stood up, "Anxiety, Anxiety, Anxiety. A little birdie has told us that the light sides and yourself are getting closer."
"Right...?" Virgil backed up slightly as Deceit walked forward.
"They seem to trust you." Ignorance said, going Deceit to his left, now gripping Virgil's left hand. Ignorances hand turned orange and Deceit placed his hand over his, his own hand turning yellow and finally Bargaining's hand joined, his hand dark red.
"You will find out their weakness and if you don't, you belong to us forever." Bargaining said, "you find out, the deal is broken and you are free to do as you wish."
Virgil's eyes widened, "no! I won't-"
"You don't, you will never leave again." Bargaining glared.
The three dark sides let go of Virgil's hand who backed up, holding his hand to his chest protectively.
He couldn't get out of this.
Virgil sat down in between Logan and Patton, his face white as a ghost. He held his left hand close to his chest.
The dark side knew he had to find out their weaknesses, but why could it be? He wouldn't say each other, he wouldn't allow them to be held against their will.
Roman sat down next to Logan and wrapped his arm around his waist.
Virgil wasn't paying attention to the movie, 'it's really strange. I used to think these three were fake and rude, but now I know that actual Plastics.'
"Virgie? You ok?" Patton asked, resting his head on Virgil's shoulder.
Virgil looked up, "yeah I'm fine... I was just thinking if I should tell you a weakness I had..."
Roman looked up, pressing pause on the movie, "you have a weakness? What is it?"
The three sides turned to the emo trait, "well... I have weak ankles." Lied the side.
Logan's eyebrows rose up, "they are?"
"Yeah. It's weird... Do you guys have weaknesses?"
"Nope, fit as a fiddle." Smiled Roman.
"Nah, I don't." Patton said.
Logan shook his head, "no, can't say that I have."
Virgil nodded and looked forward towards the clock, "I need to go, before Ignorance gets worried."
The dark side stood up, followed by the other three.
"We'll see you soon Virge!" Patton said, hugging Virgil.
"Goodbye Virgil." Logan patted Virgil's back."
"Come back soon." Roman smiles, handing Virgil a rose, with black and purple petals.
Virgil blushed, "t-thank you... I-I'll see you guys later." He plucked up the little courage he had and kissed their cheeks and rushed off, missing their reddening cheeks.
Virgil ran into the shared house between the dark sides and slammed the door shut.
"So, Virgil. What is the weak link in the sides? Huh?" Deceit asked, getting up from the couch.
Virgil looked to the three sides he considered friends, "get yourself someone else, I'm through!"
Bargaining laughed sarcastically, "I'm sorry, do you wanna run that by us again?"
"Read my lips!" Shouted Virgil, walking up to them and pointing to his lips, "forget it."
"Virgil!" Shouted Ignorance as the anxious side walked away, but stopped when Deceit popped up in front of him.
"Virgil, Virgil! My sweet minion!" Deceit pinched Virgil's cheeks, "aren't we forgetting one tiny, intsy, bintsy, infinitesimal, but ever so crucial detail." He poked the emo side's nose.
"WE OWN YOU!!!" Shouted Bargaining.
"Do you hear that?" Asked Ignorance, "that's the sound of your freedom, fluttering away." He made smoke butterflies fly around Virgil, who coughed and wafted them away, "forever."
"I don't care!" Coughed Virgil as he faced away from the dark sides, "I'm not gonna help you hurt them!"
"All this over a few guys?" Asked Deceit.
Virgil glared and smiled down at the flower, "this is different! They're so sweet and kind-"
"They're guys!" Shouted Ignorance.
"They would never hurt me! Besides oh darknesses! You can't beat them!" Smirked Virgil, "they have no weaknesses!" He laughed and turned to face the evil sides, "they're gonna-" he froze.
Bargaining was smirking evilly as his face was in Virgil's face, "I think, he does Virge." He took the flower and held up and cupped Virgil's face with the other hand and made him watch as he burned the flower, "I truly do."
Roman sighed dreamily, waiting for Virgil to show up, he had it bad. How he longed to take Virgil out on a date with his boyfriends.
Patton was no better, he had been bubbly and excited all day, talking about Virgil, about how cute he is, which neither side disagreed on.
And while Logan tried to hide his feelings, it didn't work, he too was in love with the side. Whenever he was brought up, Logan stopped reading or working to listen.
They waited for Virgil, but he never came. Instead, it was Deceit who popped up.
"Hello, light sides."
Roman glared, standing up from the couch, "Deceit, What are you doing here?"
Patton poked his head out from behind the kitchen wall and Logan looked up from behind his book.
Deceit laughed, "so it turns out you sides don't have a weakness."
Logan set his book down, "that is correct."
Patton realised Virgil must have been set up to ask, but didn't get a response he was hoping for. So, where is Virgil? Shouldn't he be trying again? Patton would need to talk to him about that, that he didn't need to do the dark aides dirty work.
Roman smirked, "we're healthy."
"I wasn't talking about your health." Deceit laughed, "guys, wanna come up?"
Ignorance and Bargaining popped up behind Deceit, holding Virgil's arms tightly, nails digging into his skin, making him bleed ever so slightly.
Virgil had a black eyes with a bruised cheek, bloody nose and hi clothes ruined, bruised littering his entire body and was gagged with a black cloth, his arms were restrained by the two evil sides. The anxious side was struggled, trying to get free and looked up slightly seeing the surroundings had changed, his eyes wide seeing the three light sides.
"Virgil!" Shouted Patton, rushing out.
Logan got up and stopped Patton, seeing Ignorance tighten his grip, "let him go, whatever this is about-"
"But we can't. Not without a price." Smirked Bargaining.
Roman summoned his katana and raised it but froze upon seeing Ignorance with a dagger to Virgil's neck.
Virgil gulped as Deceit took Virgil's chin in between his thumb and index finger, "well, Virgil this is interesting, isn't it?"
Said side shivered, he did not like the way Deceit said his name and he didn't like the fact that the side in yellow was touching his chin and so he tried to inch back.
"I'll do whatever you want!" Roman spoke up.
Bargaining smirked, "all three of you."
"No!" Shouted Roman, "leave them out of this!"
Bargaining shrugged, "then its Virgil's death-"
"No!" Shouted Patton, joining Romans side, followed by Logan, who took his hand, "we'll do whatever you want."
Deceit smirked, "fade out, let us take control, we'll let your precious Virgil go."
Logan's eyes widened, "you three running Thomas won't work, he'll be killed-"
"Then so be it!" Deceit shouted and started monologuing slightly about what he would do.
Virgil's eyes widened, 'he'll be killed!' He came up with a plan and came up with one fast.
The room got dark and cold, it got hard to breath and the sides started to get a headache. They started to get paranoid, thoughts mixing and whirling together, their hearts pounded, thud, thud, thud. Cheeks getting red, mouth becoming dry, tears running down the face.
They felt like they were drowning.
"W-What's happening?" Patton asked, falling to his knees as Roman sat on the couch and Logan tried to keep balance.
Deceit tried to stabilise his breathing while Ignorance and Bargaining loosened his grip.
That's when Virgil felt it, the tug from the host and so Virgil sunk out, talking the gag out and practiced the breath technique Logan taught him.
"V-Virgil? Why am I-"
"Thomas, you need to breath in for four seconds, hold for seven seconds, then breath out for eight seconds and repeat."
Thomas did as he was told and let Virgil dry his tears.
"I'm sorry, I had to. Call the light sides now!"
Thomas wasted no time and called upon the other three, who were calming down. But, seeing the shadow of the attack made Virgil feel horrible, but at least they where alive.
"What just happened...?" Roman asked after a moment.
"I'm afraid that was my fault... I'm sorry Roman, I had to." Virgil felt incredibly guilty, he didn't mean to hurt them.
Roman looked up and walked over to the darker side and kissed him softly before pulling back, "you are staying with us, they aren't getting you again."
Patton rushed over, "are you ok?" He checked Virgil all over, peppering his face with kisses, even Logan shared a kiss or two in worry.
"You aren't going back there." Logan said, taking Virgil's hand, "you're one of us now."
Virgil blushed and smiled lightly, "yeah... I guess I am."
