The Barista and The Hipster (VirgilxLogan)

Human AU!
Hope you enjoy!

Logan walked into the coffee cafe with his two friends Patton and Roman. They all had separate jobs that were completely different from each other.

Patton was daycare teacher, he took care of the little kids and helped them around and played with them, he was like a Dad which encouraged him to tell Dad jokes and puns. He had sandy blonde hair, which matched his complexion and freckles more then his brunette hair did. His face, arms and legs where dotted in scattered freckles and wore a bright, baby blue shirt and short khakis, with white knee high socks and brown shoes, with a gray jumper he tied around his shoulders and black glasses.

Roman was an actor, he had a concerning obsession with Disney and was dramatic, loud and a dreamer, almost like a Prince from a Disney tale. He had the front of his hair dyed a royal red and his skin was tanned and held no blemishes. He wore a white shirt and a red and white jacket that had a small crown on the breast pocket and red pants and white shoes. His hair always to perfection with white pearly teeth.

Logan was completely different. He was a computer technician, which if he was honest, didn't want to be as he wanted to be a mathematics teacher, but didn't want to be surrounded by idiotic children and hormonal teenagers. The front of his hair was dyed a dark blue, he wore black, square glasses, black shit with a dark blue tie and black shoes and dark blue jeans. His skin was tanned but when people would see the tattoos up his arms they'd turn the other way.

Logan actually became friend with Patton in university. The happy man was studying child care and was struggling to reach a certain book and Logan, being a bit taller, got it for him. Patton was grateful and they got to talking and so Logan was introduced to Roman.

They now had jobs and their own homes for a few years now and hadn't seen each other in a few weeks. This was a get together.

They finally made it to the front of the line and there stood in front of them was a man, with purple hair that covered his eyes, but even so could still see the darkly applied eyeliner around the eyes with a cat wing and a slight amount of black eye shadow under his eyes. He was as white a ghost, or even paper, like he had bathed in bleach. He wore small black earrings, and a purple choker, he wore a black jumper with purple flannel sewed on it in patches with white string. He wore a yellow apron neatly tied in a bow at the back.

"Hi, can I get your order?" Geez he even sounded like he wanted the world and his life to end.

However, there was one thing that was on Logan's mind, and that was, 'oh sweet Eros! Even Plato, Rumi, Soren Kierkegaard, and Stendhal combined couldn't have taught me about this feeling of love...'

Yes it seemed like the logically thinking man had pulled a Roman and fallen in love at first sight.

"I would like a Latte." Smiled Patton pulling out the money.

"And a Cappuccino!" Roman added, setting down his money too.

And Logan suddenly lost the ability to speak, "uhhh... uh... a-a L-Long Black..." He quickly pulled out the money and placed it down, his face was red, about the same color of a solanum lycopersicum.

"Who's it for?" Asked the man, picking up three cups.

"Roman, Patton and Logan." Roman responded, pointing to each each of them as Logan casted his eyes to the man's chest at the left, to see a name tag.

'Virgil...' He thought, smiling ever so lightly, as he and his friends walked to a table in the corner.

Logan could just about hear Virgil say, "Dee, you're back on register."

They sat down and Roman and Patton began talking, what they were talking about, Logan didn't know as all he could think about was the cute Barista.

For the purple hair and pale complexion, to his mysterious eyes and dark make up, his dark clothes and black nail polish, gosh... Even his name! Virgil. Like the-

"LOGAN!"

"Publius Vergilius Maro!" Logan clapped his hands over his mouth and glanced to the source of voice, Patton.

Roman raised his eyebrow, "what's up, pocket protector?"

"N-nothing... W-why would you assume something was 'up'?" Logan asked, his cheeks now redder then before.

That's when Patton smirked, "does it have anything to do with the Barista?"

"No! No, no, no! Of course not..." Logan's voice trailed off as Virgil was now in front of them.

"Patton?" He asked, and when he saw the smile gave it to the bubbly man, "Roman?"

"I'm here!" Smiled the 'Prince'.

Virgil rolled his eyes and set it down and then Logan's and walked off, his face a light hue of red.

Roman looked down, "he wrote 'Princey'!" He poured slightly.

Patton laughed, "he put a smiley face on mine."

Logan looked at his and blushed, as there in black sharpie, was a number with Virgil's name under. He glanced up, seeing Virgil wiping out a coffee mug, but watching Logan under his eyes, through his fringe. Logan made sure his friends weren't watching when he smiled subtly, reassuring Virgil he hadn't messed up.

Virgil relaxed a bit and went on with his work, as Logan put the number in.

They began texting for the next three weeks and saw each other at the cafe, but didn't talk to each other, in fear of messing everything up.

So, here the three friends were again, money in one hand as they waited in the line. They ordered the same thing, to a guy named Dee, as Dee was the man who worked at the register.

They sat in their normal spot and talked, waiting for the coffees. That's when Virgil walked up.

"Alright, Sir-Sings-a-Lol, Dad and Nerd." He set the coffees down, luckily they all knew he was joking even Roman and they did get into a playful banter every once in a while. Virgil walked off.

Logan glanced down at his coffee cup as the nickname was never the same as the one on the cup. However, instead of a cute or charming nickname it was a question.

'Would you like to go on a date? Say at 7? At the park?'

Logan looked up and saw Virgil making another cup of coffee but was glancing up at the hipster. The man in tattoos nodded subtly, smiling slightly.

Virgil grinned and fist bumped slightly, accidentally knocking over the coffee, creating a lounge crash and bang, as the cup smashed into tiny pieces. The emo went bright red from embarrassment and glanced up at Logan who was hiding a smile behind his cup.

Virgil didn't hear Dee screaming at him, or his coworker, Remy, helping to clean up, all he could focus on was the hipster he had just asked out on a date.

The date was a success, the has dressed nicely, a change up from their usual attire and hit it off extremely well, pushing past the fears of talking.

They dated and even became boyfriends, however they told nobody, seeing as it was trivial information.

They'd been going out for three months now and the three friends had gone to the cafe again and ordered the same thing as always.

However, Virgil listened in and heard Patton scolding Logan for skipping out on a meal to which Logan replied with, "I ate just not a lot".

Logan sat down with his friends in the usual spot, content that they were staying in touch with each other and began talking about random things, when Virgil came up.

He set down the drinks calling out more witty nicknames, with Logan's as usual being different on the cup, these days more romantic nicknames, however there was a plate with a cookie on it set down in front of Logan.

"What's with the cookie?" Logan asked.

Virgil sighed, "you didn't eat much. Eat, it'll make you feel better."

Patton and Roman watched on, eyes wide, as Logan got out his wallet to pay.

Sighing, Virgil pushed the wallet down, "on the house." And left.

Patton squealed, "my ship is sailing!

"Well yes, ships sail- wait... this is a slang term isn't it?" Sighed Logan, making Patton nod, "great..."

After the cookie incident, Patton and Roman were trying to get Logan to talk about the Barista, but got nothing out of Logan other then, he was nice, because Logan wasn't one to show affection.

They went back to the cafe as usual and did the same routine they'd done for months. Virgil included, however there was a tiny difference.

Virgil gave out the coffee as usual, silly nicknames and playful banter and a chuckle at the Dad jokes and puns, when he turned to Logan, "I know you aren't big on affection, but well, I had to... So these are for you."

Virgil pulled out a bouquet of roses, white, red and orange, with green leaves and a red bow, the stems wrapped in a pink tissue paper. Virgil blushed as he looked down at Logan who took it looking into his eyes, his face red, both faces poker.

"Thank you Virge, they're gorgeous."

"Not as gorgeous as you." Virgil leaned down and kissed Logan's cheek and walked off, leaving Logan to be bombarded with questions.
