Thomas shot up from his couch, his breathing uneven as he shook, sweat dripping from his forehead.

'No... surely that didn't just happen...'

He looked around and summoned Roman, Patton and Logan, while also trying to summon Virgil, Janus and Remus, but only the light clothes sides raised up.

And they were still in the position Thomas last saw them as, on their knees, wailing and crying.

Thomas paled more, it actually happened.

Roman looked to Thomas, his voice raw and sore, his cheeks red and eyes puffy, "T-Thomas... p-please! S-s-summon them!"

"I... I can't I-" Thomas started in despair, but Logan cut him off.

"What do you mean you can't?! They can't be dead!" He yelled, looking at Thomas, for once in his life letting out all his emotions he only ever showed Remus. "You're Thomas! You can do anything!"

"No Logan! I can't!" Thomas yelled, now also crying, "I can't bring them back... I already tried..."

Patton shakily got up and brought Thomas into a hug, the two cried as they held onto each other.

Logan watched, his eyes darkening ever so slightly in anger. It wasn't really aimed towards Thomas, but he had to take his anger out someone.

Roman shook his head, "why... why can Thomas function properly?!" Roman cried, realising the effects of the now... gone sides were still there.

"Because we don't need them physically..." Logan whimpered out, knowing Remus' traits would be there, but physically he wouldn't be there.

This sent the four into a fit of cries and tears again.

Janus groaned, opening his eyes slowly and the first thing he noticed was it was dark, incredibly dark.

His eyes widened and his hand shot to his waist and pulled up is shirt to see if there was a mark from being cut in half. There was nothing there luckily and he was alive.

Janus slowly sat up and looked around, his stomach turning and his face paling, he was back... God no... He didn't want to go back to before.

He looked to his left and frowned.

Virgil was asleep on the bed, squirming around, tossing and turning in his old black jacket.

To his right Remus was faced down on the bed, muttering "no Mommy I don't want the mashed potatoes."

Janus nudged Virgil gently and whispered, "Virgil? Virgil, wake up."

Virgil's eyes shot open and he sat up quickly, looking to his waist, but noticed his jacket, "w-what the... why aren't we dead?"

"It's the way Thomas sees us... we don't die just go back to our rooms or palace to regenerate... I think." Janus said, scratching his head.

Virgil looked at Remus and nudged his harshly, "Remus, wake up."

Remus groaned and looked up and smirked, "look it's the wall I smashed in with my mace." He said, pointing to a black wall with a large whole in. He closed his eyes but then then shot open and sat up quickly, "the wall I smashed in with my mace?!" He yelled, making Virgil face palm and Janus groan.

"What?" Remus asked, confused.

There was a laugh from the doorway, making the others turn and look at the orange and black dressed side. The three injured sides glared.

He walked forward, slamming the door shut, "I see you're awake! It's so good to see you." He laughed.

"What do you want?" Janus hissed out.

He glared and said, "tut. How can you not know?!"

"Did he just say 'tut'?" Virgil asked quietly, but the orange side glared and summoned Romans katana again and pointed it to Virgil, making him hold his breath and stop talking.

"You three left me-"

"You could have come with us!" Remus yelled.

The man scoffed, "no I couldn't! And you didn't even tell me you were leaving and never coming back! You just left! And you didn't even tell them about me!"

Janus glared, "yeah because you act like this!"

"I'm not surprised you didn't tell sweet, little Patton." He smirked, making Janus grit his teeth.

"Get his name out of your mouth-" The orange side clicked his fingers making Janus slap his hand over his mouth.

"You do love that little trick don't you?" He smirked.

Remus glared, "look, just because you feel betrayed-"

"I don't feel betrayed!" He yelled and glared at the three sides, "I was betrayed! But now you're back!" He smiled at them, as if they were old friends, "and now we can be like how we used to! We can torment them and-"

"No." Virgil said, now that the katana was away.

The orange side laughed slightly and looked at him confused, "w-what?"

"I said no."

The orange side frowned and his eyes widened, "oh my god... you're in love with them."

"Well you used Patton against Janus-" Remus started annoyance, but the Orange side clicked is fingers, making Remus tentacles come out and wrapped around the duke, covering his mouth and holding him in place.

"You actually think they love you?" He laughed, looking at Remus, "you think Logan actually likes you?!"

Virgil grabbed his wrist, "knock it off!"

He threw Virgil on the floor roughly, his eyes now glowing orange, "you of all people should know how dangerous love is!"

"It's not dangerous!" Virgil yelled, a small smile on his face as he thought of Roman, "love is the best thing in the world, it's magical and beautiful." The soft smile on his face turned into a hate filled glared, "something you clearly don't know anything about!"

"Yeah." The Orange side sang letting Remus go, "yeah," he let Janus go, "yeah." He backed away from Virgil.

"Pink lipstick stains, cigarette butts," he sang, wrapping an arm around Remus, disappearing just as the side in green tried to punch him.

"I lie in bed, I hate my guts." He lay next to Janus and smirked at him, before appearing behind Virgil and covered his eyes.

"A day in the dark, a murdered afternoon, yeah!"

Virgil swung his arm around but he dodged and smirked backing up.

Virgil tried to summon his fire and frowned when nothing happened, "w-what...?"

"Oh baby, darling, how I long," he stretched out three of his arms and grabbed them, pulling them next to him and caressed their cheeks, "to become your suicide brunette."

He pushed them down on the floor roughly, his eyes glowing a bright orange, "to lie beside my Romeos. Oh, what a wicked way to go!" He held up Romans katana and pointed it at Janus' neck who backed up slightly.

"It only takes two lonely people," he sang, staring at Virgil now, making an illusion of a lonely Roman appear, "to fuck love up and make it evil."

"It only takes a drop of evil to fuck up two beautiful people." He sang, looking at Remus almost judgementally making a stoic looking Logan appear.

"L.O.V.E., L.O.V.E." He sang spelling out the word quickly, his gaze never leaving Remus, who seemed entranced by the orange side.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L!" He sang, "L.O.V.E., do you love me?" He held out his hand to to the green side.

Janus and Virgil glared but then froze hearing the nastily voice sing back, "L.O.V.E., love is evil."

They turned their heads and saw Remus' eyes glowing a bright orange, holding his hand and was helped off the ground.

"Remus!" Janus gasped.

Virgil got up as the orange side sang, "candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker." Virgil tried punching him but he dodged, making illusions of Virgil and Roman kissing appear.

"Every kiss you give me, it makes me sicker." He sang in Romans voice, as the illusion of Roman gagged after illusion Virgil walked away after they kissed.

"A day in the dark," Remus sang, wrapping an around around Virgil's neck, "a day in the cloud of gloom, yeah!"

The orange side gently caressed Virgil's chin, making him looking into his orange eyes, "I look at you, you look at me."

"Virgil no!" Janus yelled, going to pull an enchanted Virgil away, had it not been for Remus who punched him in the jaw.

"Milk and roses, squeaky clean." He sang, tucking the hair behind Virgil's ear, "well, you're the best I've ever seen. And Ro's your dying beauty King."

"It only takes two lonely people to fuck love up and make it evil." Remus sang as he kicked Janus in the side, making him groan in pain.

"It only takes a drop of evil to fuck up two beautiful people." The orange side sang, cupping Virgil's face with his hands gently.

"L.O.V.E., L.O.V.E." Remus sang with a sinister smirk in his face.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L." The orange side smirked, "L.O.V.E., do you love me?" He asked, his hand on Virgil's cheek.

Virgil clamped his hand over the orange sides hand and said, "L.O.V.E., love is evil."

Janus' heart broke then and there, as he saw Virgil turn with his eyes glowing the same orange as Remus.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." The orange side sang as he walked up to a shaking Janus, who was looking down.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L." Remus and Virgil sang next to Janus.

"Yeah." The orange side grabbed Janus chin and made him look up.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L."

"Yeah." His orange eyes staring into Janus' yellow ones, who stared softly.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L." Remus and Virgil sang, looking to Janus expectedly.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L." The orange side smirked at that as that came from Janus himself, whose eyes were glowing orange as well.

"It only takes two lonely people-" the oranges side sang, and looked to the three males under his control.

"To fuck love up and make it evil!" The three sang in perfect harmony.

"It only takes a drop of evil-" he sang again.

"To fuck up two beautiful people!" The three sang.

"L.O.V.E., L.O.V.E!" The orange one smirked.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L!" The three sang back grinning.

He turned his back to them, "L.O.V.E., do you love me?"

"L.O.V.E., love is evil!" They sang, moving forward.

"Do you, do you, do you love me?" He asked, his arms out.

"L.O.V.E., E.V.O.L!"

"Do you love me?" He smirked, as Virgil hugged his left, Remus hugged his right and Janus hugged from behind.

"L.O.V.E., love is evil!" The three finished, all four of them with smirks on their faces as the orange side had a plan to get rid of the light sides.

Remus snuck into imagination with his mace and Romans katana and travelled to the The Dragon Witches lair.

Outside the lair was a pond, one that the Dragon Witch laced with a potion able to kill Roman, completely. Body and all.

He dipped the weapons in by the handles and waited for a minute before pulling them up, the weapons dripping with bright blue liquid.

He smirked but then felt a tug. It wasn't Janus' or Virgil's. It wasn't even the orange's tug. It was Thomas and so he had no choice but to sink out.

_______________________________

Thomas has woken up again. He wasn't even aware he had fallen asleep, but he had and so were the three remaining sides. They too were asleep.

He rubbed his head, getting a headache from all the crying and slowly got up, creeping away to the kitchen to get a glass of water and painkillers.

He was as quiet as possible as he stared at the countertop with a frown and fresh tears filling his eyes.

"Thomas..." A voice said, making him turn to see Logan standing there with red eyes and cheeks, with dried tears down them. He tried to look emotionless, "p-please... try summoning Remus again... I... I need him..." He admitted.

Thomas frowned, god he'd never seen Logan with emotions besides anger and frustration and a bit of joy, but now? This was heartbreak and sadness.

Thomas frowned and raised his hand to summon Remus sadly, he didn't want to watch Logan cry again, it was agony and looked down.

Logan gasped, "Remus...?"

Thomas looked up and stared, "oh my god..."

Remus stood before them, with orange glowing eyes and sinister smirk on his face, with the weapons in his hands.

He sunk out quickly and back to the orange side.

Logan stared and ran out, shaking Roman and Patton awake.

Patton shot up, "w-what? What is it...?" He asked, his voice still quivering ever so slightly while Roman gave Logan a sad and defeated look.

"Remus! I just saw Remus! Thomas summoned him, he's alive but-"

Roman stood up and gently placed his hands on Logan's shoulders, "Logan no... Remus he's-" he started tearing up again.

"No Roman! I saw him! Thomas saw him! He's alive!" Logan defended, but Roman glared.

"Remus is gone, Logan!" Roman yelled, tearfully, "and he's not coming back!" He stared around Logan, who was tearing up all over again.

Maybe he hadn't seen Logan? Maybe he was tired and so upset he imagined it...

Logan looked at Roman and the two found themselves hugging each other and crying as they sunk to the floor.

Thomas shook his head and suddenly said, "he's not dead."

Roman and Logan looked to him with teary eyes as Thomas continued, "I saw him and I summoned him. I felt that pull as I summoned him. Roman he is alive but his eyes were glowing orange."

Patton's eyes lit up ever so slightly with hope, "so that means Janus and Virgil are alive."

Romans heart jumped at Virgil's name.

Logan nodded, "there's a high possibility."

"But how is that possible?" Patton asked.

Roman looked to Thomas and the Steven Universe shirt he was wearing, "because we can't die... we just go back to our rooms to regenerate..." How had he not noticed this before? He should have, he's creativity! He's the fanciful side.

"Like Steven Universe?" Asked Patton more to himself then the others.

"But why were his eyes orange?" Roman asked.

Logan frowned, "he held that mace and katana... he had this sinister look on his face."

Thomas eyes widened, "you don't think they're being controlled do you...?" He asked quietly.

The three sides said nothing but looked to Thomas with realisation. He had them and had them under his control.

"I may or may not have ran into our favourite sides." Remus snarled, with a smug smirk on his face.

Janus laughed, "what was it like?"

"Logic seemed so sad, the robot actually has emotions!" Remus laughed.

Virgil joined in on the laughter, "pathetic!"

The orange side snarled and pushed them down harshly, "have you three done laughing?!"

The stopped instantly and looked up, their orange eyes wide in shock.

"When they come, and they will come, kill them. Fight them." He said, a glare on his face. Though his plan was amusing to him, to watch the lights get beaten by their boyfriends.

The three nodded, "of course."

He walked off and went upstairs with large strides, he didn't want to get involved with this fight, he wanted to stay safe and watch.

_______________________________

The three brightly dressed sides and host found themselves outside the dark palace as Remus called.

The four were weaponless, Roman unable to summon his katana, and they had Thomas behind them.

Roman was the brave one when pushed open the door and ventured forward, followed by Logan, then Patton and then Thomas.

They looked around, warily.

"Where are they?" Thomas asked, confused and worried.

"I... I don't-" Logan cut Patton off, covering his mouth as Roman froze staring.

There at a long table sat the former dark sides.

Remus at the head of the table on an emerald chair and black crown, spinning a mace carelessly with on leg crossed over the other, a smug smirk on his face. Logan stared directly at Remus, his heart pounding and eyes tearing.

Virgil was sat to Remus' left in his old jacket and black eyeshadow cascading down his face, with his eyes narrowed and a smirk on his lips. Roman was shaking with teary eyes and his breathing uneven.

Janus sat to Remus' right, his eye glowing, his finger tips placed together, his elbows placed on the arm rest with an evil smirk on his face. Patton watched him heartbroken and shaking, tears rolling down his face.

Thomas noticed how the three sat around the table didn't even glanced at them, besides Remus who held a smug glare with Logan.

"We are friends, are we not?" Janus sang, a sly smile on his face, looking to Remus and Virgil.

"And our interests are the same." Remus added, his smirk widening.

"We collaborate." Virgil sang, gesturing his hands out to the other two.

"And trust in fate to parcel out the blame." Remus added, looking at his nails.

"There are ends we've all got that can justify the means." Janus sang clenching his right hand.

"We negotiate." Remus grinned, slamming his mace into his hand, avoiding the spikes easily so he wasn't hurt.

"Then fabricate the facts behind the scenes." Virgil sang, holding out his hand with now swirling black fire instead of his usual purple.

"Keeping all the details vague and secrets hidden." Janus sang, his snake eye a neon yellow and waved his hand, making Patton slap his hand over his mouth.

"Safe in the balanced sheet of those you trust." Remus sang, as a small illusion of the orange side appeared on the table. "Because-" Remus stood up, swinging his mace down smashing the table into multiple pieces, "history is a story told by the winners of the fight! You imply a little!" He appeared behind Logan who turned and backed up.

"Lie a little." Janus sang, appearing behind Patton and covering morality's mouth with his gloved hand, but Patton grabbed the hand and threw it off.

"Testify and try a little sailor." Virgil sang, appearing in front of Roman with a smirk.

"Who's gonna question what goes on in the middle of the night?" Janus sang grabbing a shaking Patton by his collar, bringing them face to face, "not a girl."

"Not a guy!" Sang Remus, who swung his mace at Logan's head who dodged and fell on his back.

"Not his father or the Fanders." Sang Janus who threw Patton next to Logan.

"Or a saviour." Virgil spat at Roman, who had managed to summon his potion coated katana. Roman didn't move to hurt him and Virgil knew that he wouldn't and swept his legs from under him, sending the prince down.

Thomas backed up not sure how to handle the now violent sides.

Logan shook his head, "don't you remember us?! We're you're boyfriends!"

The three laughed loudly, as if was the funniest joke in the world and had to lean on each other for support.

"So we all are agreed, let's be vigilant and wise." Janus sang with an amused smirk on his face standing above Patton, who scooted back.

"We must all admit  our naïve 'friends' were caught in their own lies." Remus smirked down at Logan.

"For our plan to succeed we must share but one belief, the lights stays and ends their days inside the Chateau d'If!" Remus smirked summoning his tentacles that now held shackles.

"Where the softest things they'll touch are stones and darkness," Janus sang, as Remus made an illusion of the dungeons from the fight before making Patton whimper, "deep in a craggy isle in dungeon's keep."

Thomas glared and yelled a battle cry from behind Virgil and ran at him, swinging his arm, but Virgil ducked.

"Because history's a story told by the men who make the laws!" Virgil sang, now behind Thomas, grabbing his neck tightly.

Roman got up quickly, katana out. It wouldn't kill Virgil, he knew that, but it'd be enough to scare him. He stabbed around Thomas, making Virgil back up, staring at the potion laced weapon as Thomas fell forward.

Logan got up, grabbing the mace from his boyfriends hands due to Remus being caught off guard, and swung at the moustached sides head.

"We supply a little lie." Remus  sang, dodging behind Janus.

"To help the gullible to buy a little fable." Smirked Janus, who tried to stamp of Patton's head, but Patton rolled out the way quickly.

"Janus please!"

"What will become of the righteous men who fashions the lights flaws?" Virgil sang, his hands now slight as he tried to punch Roman who barely dodged.

"The rich!" Remus sang, grabbing the mace again, but Logan didn't let go and both were pulling it to themselves.

"And well respected!" Virgil snarled, kicking Roman in the stomach, who fell to his knees and held his injury in pain, his head down as if bowing.

"Are no more to be rejected at our table!" Janus smirked.

It was getting boring for the orange side upstairs, god can't they kill the lights quickly? He went downstairs to see if he could speed things up or not. He stood and leaned against the railing with a smirk, seeing the devastated looks of the lights. Thomas looked lost and was shaking unable to help due to his care for all of them.

Janus looked at Patton in his eyes and froze, his orange eyes turned back to his normal brow and neon yellow.

Patton saw, "Janus...?"

"I'll be a comfort in your time of grief and anguish, I'll be Patton's ever faithful acolyte, every night." He sang, hoping to portray everything he had done up until that point wasn't his own.

Remus groaned, hearing Janus' voice and looked to Logan's determined yet scared expression, and his eyes turned normal, his eyes wide in horror. He swore never to scare Logan and yet he had.

"Remus?" Logan asked, calming down.

"I-I'm sorry."

Virgil grabbed Romans sash and brought him close to his face, and Roman stared into his bright orange eyes. Virgil eyes flickered slightly, going between brown and orange.

Virgil loosened his grip and looked to the orange male and sang, "apart of me wishes the sides didn't have to languish."

The side glared and clicked his fingers, making Virgil snap his head to Roman, his eyes orange and staying that color and sang, "but I can see it's them or us!"

Remus snatched the mace back, his eyes orange, "let them sit there and rot until they're forgot!"

Janus' eyes turned orange and yellow again, making Patton shudder as he sang, "let them rot!"

Roman hesitated but slashed his katana at Virgil who dodged, just as Remus swung his mace at Logan who also dodged, Patton managed to trip Janus, who fell back but got up quickly, just as Patton did.

"History's a story told by the people who survive!" The dark clothed males sang, with Janus' six arms coming out.

"Let me sign and then initial!" Virgil glared punching Roman in the face and pinning him to the wall, pushing the katana to the princes neck.

"It's the truth if it's officially the story!" Remus smirked, kicking Logan down and standing on his chest.

"What if it costs us one young man so three more men can survive?" Janus sang, punching Patton in the nose, managing to break it, earning a cry from morality.

"He's a price we have to pay!" Virgil grinned, looking at Thomas who backed away scared. Roman kicked Virgil's feet out from under him making him fall.

"To live and fight another day for love and glory." Sang Janus, looking to the orange side adoringly.

Thomas looked to the orange side and rushed to the kitchen, grabbing a butchers knife from the knife cabinet.

"He was standing in the way, a threat to justice in the mind!" Remus sang, his mace raising above his head.

Thomas ran out of the kitchen.

"So goes the story!" Virgil sang, holding up his first hand, ready to punch Roman.

Thomas ran at the orange side.

"Stick to the story!" Janus sang, raising all his hands.

Thomas jumped at the orange side.

"Here ends the story!" They sang, Remus bringing down his mace, Virgil's fist flying to Romans face and Janus' hands nearing Patton's chest, but froze, centimetres away from the three brightly dressed sides who had flinched and braced themselves.

When nothing happened, the three sides who were nearly hit looked to the sides above them, who had normal eyes, staring in shock and horror. All six heads turned to Thomas who had a knife in hand and an orange side who had a hole in his chest, that had a black light coming from it, before turning into orange dust.

Virgil backed up and fell to his knees, burying his head into his arms, crying as he muttered, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." over and over again. Roman shook his head and dropped his katana, he rushed over and hugged him.

"It's ok, Virgil. I'm ok. They're ok. You're ok." He whispered as Virgil cried more.

Remus dropped his mace to the side away from Logan and backed up, his eyes wide with horror as he stared at the weapon. Logan slowly got up and reached out.

"Remus? Can I touch you?" He asked, Remus nodded and shook. Logan gently hugged him, as Remus clung to him.

Janus slowly backed away, staring at Patton's broken nose and the blood on his fist, retracting his arms. He cause Patton that pain. Patton noticed and went to hug him, but he backed up more and nearly fell over, tears streaming down his face.

"No! No! Don't touch me!" He cried, and Patton froze.

Virgil looked up from Romans now tear stained shoulder, "he'll come back... he's just going to come back!"

Janus shook his head, "I can't go back to before! I can't do this again!" He cried.

Thomas thought, "where is he now?"

Remus didn't say anything, he couldn't. How could he after he nearly killed Logan?

Virgil whimpered, and clung to Roman tightly. Why would Thomas need to know?

"H-his room... the orange door..." Janus said, his voice quivering.

Thomas rushed upstairs, opening the door to see a passed out and healing side. He didn't care for the sides name or the sides duty to him, he didn't need the side there physically, he'll always be there mentally, within him. He knew that. So, he had an idea.

He stared at the sides wrists and ankles, shackles appearing on them and connecting to the floor. He walked out and closed the door, locking that with multiple locks he imagined. Then for good measure put a shield around it, one of pure, bright, white so the side was unable to sink out.

Thomas stumbled downstairs tiredly and smiled gently. Janus was allowing Patton to hold him and Remus was whispering apologies into Logan's ear now.

He waited for his sides to go home patiently.

_______________________________

Thomas was passed out on his bed, he meant no offence to the sides when he said he wouldn't be joining them for the remainder of the night and they were fine with it.

The group had a lot to discuss and healing that much was clear, but for now they wanted to forget what had just happened.

Logan sat in Remus lap reading Agatha Christie's 'Five Little Pigs', while Remus watched Just Like Heaven.

Janus' head was on Patton's lap, the two were watching a Scooby-Doo cartoon on the iPad, with Spongebob ready to play next.

Virgil was cuddled into Romans side, scrolling through his phone on tumblr, while also checking his MySpace page a few times, while Roman held him and checked on Instagram.

Nobody had said anything and they just stayed in each other's presence, the tears now dried in their cheeks and eyes red and puffy with headaches, though non cared.

It wasn't even ten minutes into their activities that they fell asleep, Roman and Virgil's phones in their laps as they cuddled together, Patton's head back and Janus still in his lap the Scooby-Doo episode now a background noise as they slept, Remus clinging to Logan as if he was life support, his head back at the movie forgotten and Logan asleep in Remus chest and his book on the floor, page lost and possibly bent.

It was nice.

_______________________________

He woke up and groaned, trying to reach for his chest but screamed in pain as he felt a burning around his wrist.

He looked down and noticed the shackles and glared. He struggled a bit more but stopped immediately feeling the burning.

Thomas did this, he could tell.

"I hate you, Roman, Patton, Logan... I HATE YOU!"
