For Love (VirgilxPatton)

Warnings : Major Character Death, Swearing.

Edit: Warning: character abuse, unsympathetic Roman, unsympathetic Virgil

Patton was dating Roman.

That thought unsettled the emo trait. See, Virgil liked Patton a lot, he has done since the dad trait began to treat him nicely. He always wanted to take Patton out on a date, just once. Virgil even tried to change things up, tried to be happy and stuff for Patton.

Virgil sighed, but no... He was dating Roman.

Patton was happy, they've been together for a month and Virgil hated it.

In the past, Virgil had tried to show his affections, but stopped once they got together. But after the first week of them being together, Patton's smile and gleam in his eyes disappeared.

"Patton?" Asked Virgil one day. Patton turned around and smiled a small smile, setting down his spoon, his attention away from the soup he was making.

"Yeah kiddo?"

Virgil frowned, "are you ok...?"

"I'm fine."

The emo trait walked towards Patton, "I've noticed that you've been sad..."

"I've not been sad-"

"You have, Patton."

Patton sighed, "no... no, I'm fine-"

Virgil held onto his crushes wrists gently, "Patton please..." the dark side accidentally rolled up Patton's sleeve, only to see a bruise, in the form of a hand shape.

"Patton... who did this...?"

The happy side frowned, his eyes wide in fear, "Virgil."

"Did Roman do this?"

Patton shook his head, "it was only an accident. He apologised-"

"He shouldn't be doing this! It's wrong Patton!"

"I'm fine, Virgil. I promise." Patton said, his voice quiet looking down, "h-hello Roman."

Virgil spun around to look at the prince trait behind him, suddenly he glared, "Roman..."

"Come on, Patton." Roman looked angry, his hand held out for Patton, who rushed over and took his hand, as he was dragged out.

Virgil glared, angrily. Roman was abusing Patton.

Later that night, Roman was walking down  the hall to Patton's room, red roses in his left hand, his right hand ready to knock on the door.

"Don't."

Roman turned around and saw Virgil, "hello, Virgil."

"Stay away from Patton."

Laughing, Roman said, "why should I?"

"You're hurting him. And it's not right!"

"Patton needs to be kept in line." Roman said, stalking up to the side, pinning him to the wall, "he's my boyfriend, not you- ah!"

Virgil stared in shock, he didn't think he'd actually do it. He didn't really remember what happened. All he knew was that he held a large, bloody butchers knife and Roman was dead, his white suit stained red, two large stab wounds in his side.

"Oh dear."

Looking to the knife in his right hand, he saw his skin, dripping and soaked in blood.

"Oh dear..."

The carpet was stained red, "... oh dear..."

Virgil grabbed Roman and dragged his limp body to his room quickly, horrified. But overall, satisfied.

Patton's abuser was dead. Justice was served.

Then came the thoughts of hiding the body and evidence.

Virgil ran out and started cleaning the carpet, he mixed one tablespoon of scent-free liquid hand dishwashing detergent with two cups of cold water. The stain dried and placed a brush to it to remove the deposit. Using a clean white cloth, he sponged the stain with the detergent solution. He began to blot until the liquid was absorbed.

He took the cloth, brush and sponge to his room and thought about the body.

He went to his bathroom that was connected to his room and placed the the body in his bathtub. He stripped Roman of his clothes and summoned lots of potassium oxide, heated to 300° and dumped it in the tub. He went out and began to think about the test of the evidence.

He grabbed the knife and began to melt it down to a liquid, dumping it in the bath tub as well for it to go down the drain.

Looking at the brush and white cloth, he rushed into imagination and walked for a while, before burying them.

Rushing back to his room, he noticed that Roman was now a sludge that disappeared down the drain, all that was left was bone, so he placed the bones into a brown sack and smashed them with a hammer and threw the bones in the garbage disposal.

He burned the sack and the clothes and threw the ashes down the drain.

Leaning against the door, he panted. He just killed Roman... He killed.... Roman!

"You never did like him." Said a voice.

Virgil spun around and saw him, with his hood up and more intense eyeshadow under his eyes, leaning against the wall.

"W-What...?" Asked Virgil.

The one leaning on the wall laughed, "don't deny... You enjoyed it. The rush of killing."

"Who are you?"

"I'm you. Just a 'figment' of your imagination you..."

Virgil glared, "leave me alone."

"You enjoyed it. I know you did, because I am you."

"Roman!" Shouted Patton from outside, making Virgil back up from the door.

The figment smirked, "best think of an excuse."

Virgil glared and thought, "I-I don't know...."

Patton knocked on the dark trials door, making Virgil pale more and throw the door open, "hey Patton."

Oh god... how he hoped he sounded calm. Please let him sound calm!

"Have you seen Roman? He was meant to come to my room hours ago."

Virgil shook his head, "no. I haven't.... I'll tell you if I do..."

"Ok... I'm not shocked though if I'm honest." Patton smiled slightly and left again, probably to ask Logan.

Virgil sighed out in relief and shut the door.

"You liked the thrill... didn't you?" The figment asked, standing behind Virgil.

"Leave me alone."

"Think of an excuse."

The figment disappeared, making Virgil let out a shaky breath of distress, knowing he had to make up an excuse as to why Roman wasn't there.

The sides where called on by Thomas the next morning.

"Do you guys know what's going on? I don't feel... creative."

Logan frowned, "no I'm afraid not."

"Romans been missing since yesterday." Patton said, frowning.

Virgil leaned against the banister post, "I haven't seen him either."

His heart was racing fast, but kept it away from Thomas so he wouldn't panic.

"I shall go check on him." Logan offered and disappeared to Romans room.

Virgil sighed quietly, he hated seeing Patton so upset. He should have thought of the consequences towards Thomas before killing Roman, but he didn't. Now, Thomas was lacking creativity.

Logan appeared, a small note in his hand, "he left a note."

The note was on a small piece of card, typed out on a typewriter. The letter read:

Everyone

Very sorry for my departure.
I felt as if I wasn't used to my full potential.
Really, I should have left years ago, I think.
Getting realistic now, I was hurting a lot.
I hope you find love again soon.
Let me go, as I have ducked out.

Roman.

Patton teared up, "he never cared about us!"

Virgil looked down solemnly, but was happy they brought it, while Logan reread the letter and began to think of how to help Thomas.

Logan blinked and looked up to Virgil, "Virgil...? Are you sure you don't know where he went?"

"No. I don't have a clue. Why?" The anxious side asked, panic setting in again.

"The beginning of each sentence spells out your name. V.I.R.G.I.L..... Virgil."

Anxiety dug down into his acting side and frowned and looked hurt and offended, "are you accusing me of something?"

"I'm just saying, it is suspicious."

"I may not have liked Roman, but I'm not to blame." Virgil said, his voice cracking in the end as he began to tear up.

Patton held Virgil, knowing that even though Virgil didn't like Roman, he still had a connection with the fanciful trait, "Logan! Stop accusing him!"

Logan sighed, "yes... I'm sorry Virgil. Roman did like to blame you for many things..."

"I'm so sorry this happened to you Patton. Thomas." Virgil said, faking sorrow towards the two.

His plan was working.

During the past week, Patton and Logan tried to fill out Romans job and Patton at this point was over Roman. He was truly, a bad side.

Of course, Logan did not trust Virgil. It seemed too poorly written, the letter and it spelt out Virgil's name and Roman was not creative in that sense.

"Virgil?" Logan asked, walking into the anxious traits room, without knocking,

Virgil's head shot up from his phone, he sat up on his bed, "...Yes?"

"I know it was you."

"I'm sorry...?"

Logan glared, "you had something to do with Romans disappearance. I found pieces of bone in the garbage disposal and I analysed them. They are parts of Roman's skull. Tell me Virgil... what did you do?"

"So, you found parts of Roman's body. He's dead, as you've told me... who's to say it wasn't someone else?" Virgil asked, standing up in worry.

"It says your name in the card. At first I ignored it, but now... I can't. You killed him."

Virgil glared, "fine I killed him!"

"I knew it." Logan rubbed the bridge of his nose, looking down, "Virgil I didn't know what to do... what do I tell Patton-"

But what Logan would say nobody knew as Virgil swung his hard, plastic chair at Logan's head, successfully knocking out the smart side.

Virgil grabbed Logan's neck tightly and squeezed, strangling the trait, listening as Logan gasped for breath, until he stopped, the heart beat gone.

The anxious side picked up Logan and snuck into imagination, with a shovel. He walked deep into the woods and buried the logical side.

"I'm sorry Logan..." Lied Virgil. Yeah, he wasn't sorry.

"See? You do like it." The figment appeared leaning against a large tree.

"So what? I'm doing this to keep myself and Patton safe."

"You like it."

"I do..."

Virgil left quickly and walked out, ready to make a fake excuse as to way Logan left. Of course, Thomas felt ignorant.

"I think you know where Logan and Roman are." Thomas said, sounding stupid and naïve. Too bad he was actually correct.

"I swear I haven't seen Logan since yesterday." Patton said, freaking out.

'Logan was Thomas' logical side, why would he leave? Virgil had tried to stop him, but he wouldn't listen and he left, Virgil couldn't find him.... why would he leave?!' Patton thought in a panic.

Virgil rubbed his head, smirking ever so slightly, "I'll take on the role of myself and Logan. Don't worry Thomas, everything will be ok."

Patton stayed up late throughout the week, hoping to find Logan it even Roman. But alas, he found non.

"Don't you think it's suspicious, that Logan and Roman are gone? Yet Virgil is calm?" Asked Deceit, sitting on Patton's bed.

Patton sighed, "yes... it is strange, but I don't want him panicking."

Deceit looked to Patton, "I saw him do something."

"What?" Asked Patton.

"I saw him bury Logan... I'm not lying. You can ask him... I swear, I saw him."

Patton didn't want to believe it and to be quiet frank, he didn't, not one bit. But, to amuse himself and Deceit, he went to the anxious traits room and knocked.

Virgil answered and blushed upon seeing the man he loved, "oh! Patton, come in-"

"I won't stay, don't worry." Smiled Morality, knowing his dark strange son liked to be alone, "I had a question."

"Go on."

Patton laughed, "it's stupid, but did you kill Logan?"

Virgil's face paled, "how did you find out?!"

Patton froze, "wait... what?"

"Who told you...?"

Patton's eyes widened in horror, "murderer.... you're a crazy murderer!" He backed up and Virgil pinned him, hand gripping Patton's throat, cutting off the air circulation.

"I did it for love! I did it for you! Because I love you! Don't you understand that!" Shouted Virgil, not taking note of Patton struggling to breath and becoming blue, "I love you! And I don't appreciate the name calling either!"

Patton went limp, which Virgil felt and gasped, letting go of the happy trait, "shit!"

He started to hyperventilate, "shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!"

"Murderer.... But you loved it."

"No... No I didn't. Leave me alone...."

"You loved it, so much!"

The figment of himself hadn't left, he was enjoying killing, but Patton... Patton was Patton... He couldn't live without him.

Rushing to the kitchen, Virgil got a large butchers knife and paused. Looking down to his body, before glancing up stairs and glaring. Angry, at himself.

He plunged the knife into his stomach, screaming out in pain and agony, falling to his knees as he bled out and soon passing out and eventually stopped breathing.

Thomas Sanders, was no longer Thomas Sanders. He was a shell of his former self.
