Unlikely (Anxsleep)
-Remy's POV-
It's pretty well-known by everyone, including Thomas, that me and Anxiety are complete opposites. I'm supposed to give Thomas dreams and help him sleep, but Anxiety is the thing that keeps him awake.
Due to this, it's highly unlikely that we would ever fall in love with each other. Apparently, however, I don't care about chance, because I am head over heals for him.
The only problem is, I don't know if he likes me back. I don't have to worry about him not being gay, because we all are, but what if he ends up hating me?
"Heya, Remy! You look upset, what's up?" I hear Patton say. I sigh and say, "Oh, hi Patton. Nah, I'm fine." he sits in a chair and says, "Are you sure about that?"
"Totally. It's not like I'm fretting over being able to love the person I do and have him not feel the same way." I tell him. He frowns sadly and says, "Aww, come on, Remy! Maybe he'll like you back; you never know."
"But like, we're opposites, Patton! The possibility of him liking me back is just... Impossible..." I say, sighing in defeat. "Now, hold on. Unlikely, maybe, but not impossible. The word itself says 'I'm possible'." he says.
I chuckle a little at that, and he notices. "Yay, you're smiling!" he exclaims. "Thanks, Patton... But still, I don't know how I'm supposed to tell Virgil-" I start before being interrupted with, "Tell me what?" I whip my head around to see Virgil looking at me with a frown of confusion.
"V-virgil! What are you doing here?!" I say, panicked. He knits his eyebrows and says, "This... is the living room??" I feel my face heat up as I respond with, "Oh, right... Um..." I look at Patton, who is smiling in a knowing yet pure way. He smiles and shrugs, which causes Virgil to say, "What's... what's going on here...?"
"I'll let Remy explain that to you, Kiddo. I'll go make some cookies." Patton says before heading to the kitchen.
-Virgil's POV-
Remy is acting really weird, even for him. Like, why would I not walk into the living room? He also seems... embarrassed about something. What were Dad and Remy talking about, anyway?
"U-um, so like, we were talking about... you..." he says bashfully. I raise my eyebrows at him and say, "Yeah, I heard. What were you talking about?" I ask him. He turns a darker shade of red, making me even more confused. "Remy! Just tell me already, would ya?" I say.
"What do you want me to say?!" he asks. "I want you to tell me what's so awkward about me walking into the living room to you and Dad talking about me!" I tell him.
"I-it's not... It wasn't awkward, per se..." he says. "Then it shouldn't be this big of a deal." I responded in a matter-of-factly tone. "Okay, but like, we were talking about how I feel about you; that's why I couldn't say, okay?!" he explains, putting his hands over his face, which still had his sunglasses on.
"Doesn't give me much, Rem. What did you tell him?" I ask. "Um, I... May or may not be like, madly in love with you..." he says so quietly that I almost couldn't hear him. I feel may face soften as I say, "Remy..."
"Go ahead; tell me it's stupid. Tell me that you can't like me back because we're opposites." he says.
I take advantage of his eyes being closed and walk up to him. I grab him by the chin and kiss him, not roughly but not gently, either.
-Remy's POV-
Virgil doesn't say anything for a long time, but then I feel a hand pulling my head upwards. Before I could process this, Virgil's lips were on mine in kiss that tells me I'm wrong; Virgil loves me too.
Virgil pulls away and looks at me. "You couldn't be more wrong, Remy." he tells me. "Virgil... Wha-?" I start. "I guess we were both too scared to tell one another, huh?" he says jokingly.
Patton comes back from the kitchen and hands me and Virgil a cookie. "Virgil, Remy was waiting for the chance to tell you. I guess you could say... You're his dream come true!" Patton says, winking at us before walking upstairs.
"Cheesey joke, but he's not wrong." I tell Virgil. He smiles at me and says, "Yeah, somehow, Dad always knows how I feel... He... He knew I liked you too, that's why he told you to talk to me."
"When did you tell him?" I ask. Virgil bashfully smiles and says, "A-about a month or so ago..." Seriously? How did I not know Virgil liked me back?!
"Yeah, I know. I would just kinda... listen to music to avoid confrontation." he says, seemingly picking up the fact that I was surprised. "Wait so..." I say, trailing off. He looks at me, telling me to continue. "Well..."
-Virgil's POV-
Remy is so adorable when he's flustered.
"I was wondering if... Maybe we could... Go out?" Remy asks. For once, I actually smile. I mean, I smirk a lot and all that, but this was a genuine smile. "Of course we can, Rem." I say, walking closer to him.
He looks at me, happy but confused, so I pull him in for a kiss. He pauses at first, probably surprised by the kiss, but soon kisses me back.
When the kiss breaks, Remy smiles and says, "Wow... Virgil, I-" "I love you." we say at the same time. We both laugh as Logan walks into the living room.
"Uh... Ahem. Well, salutations, you two." He says awkwardly. Remy blushes madly and I just smirk slightly. "Hey, Logan." I say. Logan's eyebrows were raised in confusion, but he walks past us and sits down to read.
Remy and I share a look with each other and burst out laughing before walking outside to go hang out somewhere.
