Nyctophobia (Analogical)

Okay this might be cringe but roll with me here. For once, it is not Virgil that has the issue. It's Logan.

-Third Person POV-

Virgil was in his room listening to music when he heard a knock on his door. He took his headphones off and said, "Who is it?" He heard Roman say, "Just me, Jack Smellington. Logan wanted me to give this to you." he says.

-Virgil's POV-

I walk over and open the door. "Give what to me?" he holds out a shirt I thought I lost. "Thank... You? Why wouldn't he just return it himself?" I ask. Roman shrugs and walks away.
Well, I guess I'm happy Logan found this. I'd never admit it to anyone, but I like him.

Later that day, we were recording a video when Thomas remembered that he needed something from the closet. "Hey, Logan? Since you're the closest, could you grab it for me?"
Logan looks scared, but only for a split second, so it was nearly impossible to notice. He then says, "But that room's light bulb burned out last week."

Thomas looks at him confused and says, "Yeah, so?" Logan actually starts stuttering. "U-um, it's nothing, I guess. B-but can someone else go?" Weird, he almost sounds... Scared.

-Logan's POV-

While we were filming a Sanders Sides video, Thomas needed me to grab something from the closet. I got nervous and tried to stall, because I have nyctophobia. I do not feel comfortable going near the closet while the light is burned out.

"Logan, if it's that much if an issue, I can get it." Virgil says. I nod and let him through. After he gave the thing Thomas needed to him, Thomas turned to me and said, "Logan? What was all that about?"
"What do you mean?" I ask, pretending that never happened. Virgil continued before Thomas could.  "Why couldn't you just grab it from the closet and come back?"

I really don't want to admit that I'm afraid of the dark. Especially not to Virgil. He would torment me about it, and I don't want that.
"I simply didn't want to go through all that trouble. Nothing more." I say back. Virgil looks at me doubtfully, bit we continue the video.

<time skip>

After we were done, I started sinking down to my room before Virgil stopped me.
"Logan." I sigh as I come back up and cross my arms. "What is it, Virgil?" I say, rather annoyed. "I only have one question. Are you afraid of the dark?" he says.

I was taken aback. I wasn't expecting him to just... Come to that conclusion off hand.

-Virgil's POV-

I asked Logan if he was afraid of the dark, and he hesitated. I know what fear looks like; I am anxiety.
"W-what? Psh, don't be ridiculous." he says. I raise my eyebrow and say, "Yeah? Then my name isn't Virgil." sarcastically.

He thinks for a moment and then genuinely asks, "Wait, i-its not?" I roll my eyes and say, "Yes it is, you dimwit. It's called sarcasm. Ever heard of it?" He pouts like a baby after my insult.
Then realization strikes him. "Are you implying that I communicated a falsehood when I stated that I did not have an irrational fear of dark areas?" jeez, him and his smart words... Stupid Logan... Sounding all smart...

"Yes, I am. Logan, you can't hide a fear from me. I am the embodiment of fear." I say to him. He sighs and says, "Fine. Yes, I have nyctophobia. So what?" I smile sympathetically and say, "Logan, most people are afraid of something. You're not abnormal."

-Logan's POV-

Virgil has figured it out, but I don't really care. I have always been partial to him over the others.
But then our night gets worse. We were all sitting in the living room during a storm when the power goes out.

I immediately pardon myself to the restroom, and I try to calm myself down. "Come on, Logan. There's nothing to be afraid of. It's just-" I can barely see anything. "It's j-just..." I know I was hallucinating, but I suddenly see red eyes in front of me and hear evil laughter very faintly.

I sink to the floor and hide my head in my knees. I do not cry, but I was terrified right now.
A few moments later, I hear footsteps. I'm probably just hearing things again... But then a hand touches me and I jump.

"Calm down, just me. You okay, buddy?" Virgil says. I shake my head 'no' many times. He then sits down next to me and asks something I did not expect.
"Do you wanna lean into me? I promise, it will help..." Even though I can't see him, I can almost hear him blushing. Regardless, I do what he says, and, he's right; I'm a little less scared with him here.

Finally, after what seemed like years, Thomas managed to get the power back on. Virgil helps me up and starts heading for the main room before I stop him.
"Virgil?" he turns around and looks at me in a way that urged me to continue. "Well, I... I am partial to you, and I was just wondering if... You'd spend more time with me?" he tries in vein to hide a smile and says, "Is this your way of asking me out?" I sheepishly nod.

"Yes. I-i mean... Yeah, sure." He says, trying to keep up his persona. I just chuckle, which is something I rarely do, and kiss him on his forehead. We head back to the room and get a lot of questioning looks.

"That was a really long bathroom break, Logan." Roman says. "Yeah, Logan. When it says 'Restroom', it doesn't mean it literally." Patton replies.
"Drop it. He doesn't want to talk about it." Virgil says, rather protectively. I feel my face get hit as I smile from both affection and embarrassment.

Me and Virgil spent all of tomorrow together, and it was quite an enjoyable time.
