Virgil's pov

The thunderstorm outside was loud, obviously. I couldn't sleep but I enjoyed the sound of the rain on my window so I guess I couldn't complain too much. A particularly loud clap of thunder shocked me and I jolted. I sat up and reached for my phone, planning on scrolling through tumblr, when I heard a loud sob from next door. But... Princey's room is next door. I stand up, grabbing the small pocket knife that I had in my drawer. I opened my door and headed towards Roman's door. I knocked. No response. I knocked again, nothing again.

"Roman? I'm coming in, I'm here to help." I said. I opened the door. The room was empty. I stepped in, shutting the door behind me. Another clap of thunder echoed throughout the room. I heard a gasp from behind me. I turned around and saw Roman on the floor, his back pressed against the wall. I recognised the symptoms. An anxiety attack. I sat down in front of him and started taking him through breathing exercises.

"Okay, Roman, can you hear me?" He nodded
"It's going to be alright. I need you to try to breathe okay? Can you do that for me?" He nodded again, I took a deep breath.

"I need you to breathe in for four seconds, can you do that?" He tried and he succeeded
"Hold for seven seconds, can you do that?" He held his breath
"Now breathe out for eight seconds, okay?" He did that as well.
" Okay can we do that again?" I took him through the exercise, encouraging him the whole way
"Roman, would you like me to hold your hand?" I asked, my voice as gentle and soothing as possible. He nodded and I slowly took his hand. He smiled a little. Another thunderclap rolled through the window. I tensed up. He gasped and hugged me, burying his face in my chest. I turned around and leant against the wall, letting him cuddle up against me. I put a hand on his hair and tousled it gently, playing with it and hoping to relax him. He hugged me even tighter

"th-thank you Virgil"
"ligyrophobia, huh?"
"what?"
"it's the fear of loud noises. The thunder was pretty loud and you reacted to it quite a bit so I took a guess"
"Yeah, that sounds about right."
"do you want me to sleep with you?" I said, picking him up and carrying him over to his bed
"y-yes please, if you don't mind"
"of course not, I know how it feels to be that afraid. It's all about you right now. I don't care about what anyone else wants, including me"
"Thank you Virgil, you have no idea how much this means to me" he said in a hushed voice as I pulled the blanket over us.
"It's alright, I love you"
"I love you too" He murmured while he fell asleep against my chest. I sighed and began to fall asleep myself, alone with my sensitive prince.
