because I cannot understand it (analogical)

"Logan?"
"Yes?"
"What do you think about death?"
"Hmm?"
"What do you think about death?"
"Frankly, it's terrifying."
"Why?"
"Because I cannot understand it."
"Please elaborate"
"There is nothing that I can learn about it, about how it feels, how it works, how it will affect me mentally. When I die, I will learn one more thing, and that is what death is"
"That and the fact that it's inevitable?"
"I will admit the inevitability is a frightening add on and that a human life span is incredibly short in the grand scheme of things, but that doesn't set death as something to be feared for me. I think the fact that there's no way I could truly know everything is unsettling and that, despite my best efforts, I will never see the true fruit of my labours."
"That's really deep, Logan..."
"Well you did ask my opinion on death, Virgil. I couldn't exactly give you a cute answer where I believe there are unicorns and rainbows beyond death."
"Fair point... but what do you think death is?"
"Well it does have a definition and that is the absence of life however death, philosophically, is much more than that."
"Yeah, it is." We sat in silence for a minute, just thinking.
"Have you heard of the butterfly effect?"
"A tiny butterfly flapping it's wings today could result in a hurricane weeks from now"
"That is strange, don't you think?"
"That something so small as a single word could permanently change the fate of everyone associated in time, should our choices follow the right path?"
"Exactly. It is quite scary, when you think about it. We have no idea what the effects of our actions will be but we know that they will occur, when they are metaphorically ready."
"Well, then I'd like to test the idea, if you'd be willing"
"Why not?"
I leaned forwards and pressed my lips to his. He shivered but didn't break the contact, he pulled me closer and we kissed until our heads were light from lack of oxygen.

Three years later...
"I do."
"You may now kiss the groom." That's what I did, our lips matched perfectly. I smiled as we broke apart, looking up slightly at him.
"A butterfly flapping it's wings today could result in a hurricane weeks from now"
"A talk about death three years ago resulted in our marriage today."
"I guess we made all the right choices"
"I guess so."

Well shoot, I didn't plan on this much cuteness... oh well, at least it made me smile.
