Zombie Alpaca (Platonic Moxiety)

(3rd Person)

It had been a fairly uneventful day in the mind palace, with no one but Princey having to do to much. After all, most of Thomas's day was spent watching TV and brainstorming video ideas. However, because Roman was desperately trying to come up with a good idea, he was incredibly stressed. Stress creates frustration, and frustration plus creativity plus a certain emo nightmare equals an eventual breakdown in said emo's room.

Virgil had decided to go and see how Roman was doing, since he was in his room all day, and walked in to see piles of crumpled up papers. He was kind of worried, and decided to show it (which is quite odd of him), but got no reply. So he said some snarky, sarcastic comment, per usual. This definitely got a reply, including a shove out the door. The reply was less than nice, to a point where it absolutely destroyed any sliver of happiness Virgil may have had. Well, both happiness and confidence.

His confidence was torn to shreds as Roman yelled at him in his room about how he did nothing of use, and instead only helped to hinder Thomas's ability to come up with a good idea, and how Roman didn't need him and neither did anyone else, so he should just disappear for a while. So that was what Virgil intended to do, lying in his room, on his bed, curled up in a ball with his blankets covering him head to toe.

He was acting like he didn't want anyone to visit him, but on the inside he would have loved if Roman came to visit and apologize or even say some sarcastic comment back, or Patton to help cheer him up in the way only he could. Hell, Virgil would have even taken a visit from Logan, simply so he could ask him what the probability was that Princey actually meant what he said.

But that would require showing feelings that Virgil didn't like showing, and so he stayed in his room, alone, on the brink of both a panic attack and tears. That is, until Patton walked in. The dad-like figure knocked on the door before slowly entering, knowing that something was wrong due to the emo's disappearance.

"Hey kiddo. You okay?" Patton walked over to the bed, sitting down besides the lump on the bed and putting his hand where he assumed Virgil's shoulder to be. He was happy that he was correct, knowing that his hand was currently placed on Virgil's shoulder when he pulled down the covers just enough to show his face.

"No." Was all he replied with. Whether Virgil would admit it or not, he both trusted and loved Patton. Not in a romantic way, but that of family. Patton was the only one he would ever show emotion too. Well, emotion other than the usual. Patton frowned at Virgil's words, rubbing his arm slowly as a way of comfort.

"Was Roman being a jerk again?" He asked, having been through this before. Virgil nodded slowly, hugging the comforter closer to his body. Patton sighed as Virgil sat up and put his head on his chest, wrapping his arms around the dark Side in return. "You know how he gets when he can't think of an idea, kiddo." He said, and Virgil nodded only slightly.

"I-I just wanted to make sure he was okay." Virgil huffed, both annoyed and depressed at the current situation. Patton nodded back, hugging him tighter.

"I know you did, but you also know that it's probably better to send me or even Logan in at a time like this. Not that he doesn't like you, he loves you like the rest of us, but when he's stressed he can't control his thoughts and you can't control yours." Virgil nodded, feeling ashamed that he even thought he could interact with Roman at a stressful time and then feel so bad about it afterwards. It wasn't his fault Roman was stressed, and it wasn't his fault he decided to be so mean. He just got to pay the price for it.

"I'm sorry you have to worry about me." He apologized, even though he knew he'd probably get backlash for it. Patton immediately shook his head, pulling back from the hug so he could look Virgil in the eye.

"No, okay? Don't be sorry. I love you, you are my dark strange son. I will always worry about you, and I will always love worrying about you." He said with a smile, and somehow it made Virgil smile too.

"How are you always so happy, Dad?" He asked, and if Patton was smiling before he was definitely smiling now.

"Because you're my little ball of gloom, and if me being happy makes you happier I will do my darn best!" He exclaimed, Virgil chuckling a bit as he watched Patton basically burst with enthusiasm. Patton's smile suddenly fell into one of remembrance as he jumped, snapping his fingers before hiding his hand behind his back. "I forgot that I got you something." He said, and then handed Virgil a small plushie.

With further inspection, Virgil saw that it was a light blue zombie alpaca plush, with it's ribs showing and stitches on it's ear, and a tiny little fang in the corner of it's smile. Immediately he hugged it to his chest, a bright grin that could rival Patton's on his face.

"Thank you so much, Patton." He said, tears gone and happy thoughts kicking out the sad ones that Roman left behind. Patton smiled, his eyes twinkling with pure adoration, a look that a father would give his son.

"You're welcome, kiddo." Virgil looked back down at the plush, and with a small shake of his head he looked at Patton behind his bangs.

"I love you, Dad." He said, and Patton immediately tackled him in a hug, giggling in that little way he does when he's happy and excited.

"I love you too, my dark strange son."

A/N: Sorry if this was bad, I'm not accustomed to 3rd person but thought I'd try it =P
