What is This Feeling? Pt 1
When Virgil was told that he would have to move in with the light sides, everybody involved was less than happy. It seemed none more than Roman, who had been tasked with delivering the news.
Virgil was pissed. Why did he have to go? Was it really necessary? To leave a home he'd known his entire life, the friends who he'd built such strong relationships with? Remus and Janus were his best friends, and they'd all just recently discovered themselves wanting to be in a relationship together. Everything was going so perfectly, they had a wonderful dynamic going on! And now, Virgil had to go and leave it all behind for the light sides. People who despised him and his newly founded boyfriends, people who didn't—wouldn't—ever understand him. They hated this just as much as he did, but it had to be done. For Thomas
He wasn't looking forward to this new life, where he'd be hated and frowned upon. Ripped apart from his boyfriends to be with people who hated him.
"Do you have to go?" Remus whined with a huge pout. "We've been together for so long! We're BFF's, I can't believe you have to leave us for some stupid ass, stuck up light sides! My brother is going to turn you against us!"
"Oh, please, Roman couldn't turn me against you guys, you mean everything to me" Virgil told him sincerely, taking Remus's hand, "besides—do you really think Roman will spare me more than a glance? That he would stoop so low as to speak to a dark side?"
"The point of this is that you aren't a dark side anymore" Remus shook his head, squeezing Virgil's hand, "you're going to be a light side."
Virgil frowned, "I think we both know that Roman isn't ever going to see it that way."
"Virgil, we're going to miss you so much" Janus blurted out, unable to keep quiet anymore. He frowned deeply, trying to keep himself from crying. Because if he of all people began to cry, then Remus and Virgil were sure to follow.
"I-I'll miss you too. I'm...scared" Virgil muttered anxiously, shuddering. He tried to stay strong for them, tried to be cool about it, but the truth was that he was terrified, "they've never taken kindly to any of us—as far as they know i'm just an evil disorder who doesn't deserve to even be here. I'm a parasite who only hurts Thomas—"
"Virgil. What have we talked about? You are not 'just a disorder.' You are worth so much more than that and if any of those goody-two shoes ever tell you otherwise we'll be there in a heartbeat, okay?" Janus said seriously, "Thomas needs you to function. Without anxiety, he'd have no reason to follow Logic, because he wouldn't have fear for what would happen if he didn't. You are important."
Virgil smiled gently, "thanks."
"Why do you have to leave?! Just stay here!" Remus groaned.
Virgil chuckled, "it's not that simple...we have to do this for Thomas. I've been causing way too much stress, and well, anxiety for him. I have to go live with them because transitioning to a light side—it'll be better to calm me or something? My room will have lighter effects on me, I think. I didn't pay much attention to Roman. And believe me, they're just as mad about this as you are. I know I shouldn't worry, because we can call and text and visit, but still.."
"Virgil, you can only go if we have sleepovers every single day" Remus said seriously.
Virgil rolled his eyes, knowing that wasn't possible, "sure Remus..."
"Well, the door to your new room will be appearing there soon...all packed up?" Janus asked glumly. When Virgil nodded he sighed, "Virgil, it'll be so boring here without you.."
"We both know that isn't true. This little demon will keep you more than occupied" he said, rolling his eyes and jabbing a thumb in Remus's direction.
Remus smiled while picking his nose, "yeah!"
Virgil tried to cover up the anxiety spiking in his chest as he prepared to officially move in. He was going to appear there any second, "these stupid ass 'sanders sides' videos are going to be the death of me. I don't wanna hear the stupid little prince's ideas..he's so annoying!" He groaned.
"Oh, tell me about it. I've watched them, he sounds like a prick" Janus sighed.
"He is! God, he knows about us and everything and he won't shut up off camera about how evil you two are! He thinks you guys are manipulating me or some shit. It's all for the drama and the scripts" he smirked, "but i actually think he really does believe you're evil."
"Please don't tell me we have to do the videos-"
"You just might!" Virgil exclaimed.
Janus and Remus groaned in unison, before Virgil felt a tug.
"I'm being summoned. My door is ready!" He gasped. His heart began beating a thousand times faster as he stared at his boyfriends, "I'll miss you guys" Virgil frowned, hugging them tightly before he was forced to sink down. Remus and Janus fell to the floor with him, hugging him between them before he disappeared from their arms, and they were left grasping air.
------------------——————————————
When Virgil arrived to the light side of the mind space, it was just as he'd expected. Roman was being a pain in the ass moaning and groaning about how Virgil 'didn't deserve to be here.'
Logan stated logical facts about how Virgil needed to be here, and Patton scolded Roman, telling him to be nice to the newest member of their famILY.
Roman kept on trying to pick fights at Virgil. He was not happy about this whole thing. He kept calling him names and telling him he didn't belong.
"Hey emo nightmare, what're you looking so glum over there for?" Roman asked a few hours later, still a little salty about this whole thing.
"Oh, nothing really. I was just forced out of my home, where my best friends who i've known my entire life are" he said, rolling his eyes, "I know damn well that I know i don't belong here and you're acting like I want to be here!" He snapped, ignoring the anxiety rising in his chest, and the panic in his throat. Oh god he just let a light side see his emotion.
Roman looked slightly guilty for treating Virgil badly. He never thought about that. He should have known that Virgil obviously didn't want to be there. The former darkside was homesick. He didn't get a word in before Virgil was sinking down to his room with tears in his eyes.
"Good job, Roman" Logan hissed, "why the hell do you have to act this way to him? He didn't even do anything to you and you hate him for no reason!"
"He's just a disorder!" Roman scoffed, "we don't need him, and if he's anything like Remus then I don't want him here!" He defended, "he's just going to ruin everything! He's only going to hurt Thomas!"
"What is going on in here?" Patton asked, apron and wooden spoon in his hand, "where's Virgil? Dinner will be ready soon!" He exclaimed.
"Oh, he went to his room" Roman said quickly before Logan could rat him out.
Logan glared at Roman as Patton smiled an went back to the kitchen.
-----------------——————————————————
Tears ran down Virgil's face. He felt so scared and out of place here. He needed to be tough. He couldn't let them know how anxious and scared he felt, but they could probably guess. He was anxiety, after all. They thought so little of him already and he just yelled at Roman.
He wiped his tears away when there was a knock on his door.
"Virgil? It's Roman. Family Dinner's ready, come out.." he muttered, "and, um. I'm sorry... about earlier..."
He sounded embarrassed, like he thought about it and regretted being rude.
Virgil sighed, opening the door. "I-it's fine..I-i'm sorry too...and before you ask about my stutter, get used to it. I'm anxiety, it'll happen a lot..." he said quietly, trying to contain it.
"Oh..okay, and it's fine..let's just go" Roman said awkwardly.
Roman lead him to the kitchen where a meal was placed in front of his chair. He went to sit down, confused at what the hell was just placed in front of him at the table.
"Sorry if this sounds dumb..but what's dinner, and why do we do it as a family or whatever?" Virgil asked and all the conversation around the table stopped.
Roman looked up sadly, "do they really treat you that badly?"
"What?" Virgil questioned.
"Dinner! It's like-we all get together at night and eat!" Patton exclaimed.
"We-we've never done that?" He asked in confusion, before realizing what Roman had said, "And they didn't treat me bad!"
Before anything could escalate, Logan interjected, "dark sides do not eat. A spell was cast over them to refrain them from needing such bodily functions. However, Virgil still may not feel the need to eat, drink, etc. for a week or so because of how long he lived there. Our corner of the mind does not have such restrictions though."
"Oh—so like..you guys don't need to eat? That's cool I guess..." Roman trailed off.
"Uh—i've never done this before, sorry.." Virgil said as he picked up his fork, picking at the chicken, "how—how do I do this? Is there a certain way..?"
Patton giggled, "well, basically all you have to do is pick it up with the fork, put it in your mouth, chew it and then swallow it!"
"Oh, okay thanks" he smiled back softly.
He brought the food to his mouth and took a bite, chewing it carefully, and swallowing.
"How is it?" Roman asked.
"I-I don't know how i'm supposed to tell? Uh, it isn't a bad experience. It doesn't taste bad, and um, I like it" Virgil said.
"Alright kiddo! Not all food will be like that though. Some things might taste really bad or have weird textures, so if you don't like something, just let me know!" Patton told him.
"Okay.." Virgil said, continuing to eat until his stomach began to feel kinda weird.
Logan began to speak again when he noticed Virgil slow his pace when eating, "You've never eaten before, so your body might feel weird or uncomfortable. If your stomach starts to feel kind of heavy, you might feel full, which means that you should probably stop eating. Also, don't forget to drink lots of fluids so that you don't get dehydrated."
Virgil nodded along with Logan, pretending to know what he was talking about.
Dinner ended, and they all parted ways, Virgil going back to his room to chill out.
------------------———————————————
Two weeks had passed, and Virgil was finally at the point where he could kind of recognize when he felt hungry or thirsty. He may or may not have completely blacked out multiple times from dehydration and gotten severe cases of the shakes from not eating, but he was getting better! Besides, Patton's reaction was always funny. He had learned more about food and drinks, and had built somewhat of a relationship with the lights sides.
Most free time he had was spent texting or calling Remus and Janus, which he was doing now in their group chat. They couldn't exactly visit with each other often, so FaceTiming and texting was the best they could do.
Virgil: guys Roman is such a little ass, Remus I understand why you always talk crap about him now he is so annoying
Roman wasn't too bad anymore, him and Virgil had little squabbles here and then, butted heads, but it was all mostly teasing, or in good fun. He was still annoying and extremely rude, though.
Remus: I know Virge, just ignore him🙄 what did he do now
Virgil: he told me I need to eat more or I was gonna wither away and die. I mean, excuse you? Maybe I want to wither away and die?
Remus: relatable
Janus: No. guys, stop being depressed
Virgil: damn, ever thought of being a psychiatrist? I think you cured me.
Janus: stfu dumbass
Remus:💀
Janus: I can't believe you have to eat that must be so annoying
Virgil: it is, like I just wanna live my life and give thomas panic attacks but noo I have to go take a lunch break or i'll starve 😔
Virgil: The light sides aren't that bad tbh, they're pretty cool but nothing compared to y'all ofc
Remus: good, nothing will ever top me
Janus: 😏😏😏
Remus: only you 😉
Virgil: oh my god stfu guys
Virgil: I could top you both and we all know it
Remus: you make me weak at the knees babe 😩
Virgil: damn I cant believe I had to become a light side before you guys could take my virginity i'm so mad
Janus: its ok, we're getting a lot of practice in. We're gonna be pros by the time Roman lets us visit you.
Virgil: do you think I could just sneak out over to you one night? How would he ever know?
Virgil: ugh. I gtg Roman needs me, you guys can still plot tho
Remus: that whore
Virgil smiled at his phone, the last thing he saw being Janus saying 'ikr needy asf🙄🙄🙄' before going off to see what it was Roman wanted.
Just breakfast.
He sat at the table and chatted as he ate the pancakes Patton provided for him, thanking him as he began to eat.
But something..didn't feel right.
He began to feel something in his lower abdomen that he'd never felt before.
He wasn't sure what it was. It was like a little twinge that made him feel weird. It forced him to shift his weight and pull his legs closer together than they had been.
It wasn't anything bad, it just felt the slightest bit uncomfortable.
He shrugged it off, before realizing he had a feeling that he actually knew about—his throat was dry and he was thirsty. So he drank his glass of orange juice that was sitting in front of him at the table, and he grabbed some water for throughout the day, as well as some soda because if he had to drink something it might as well be something good.
He was going about his day as normal, watching movies with everyone, talking about scripts, all of that stuff. He'd drunken a can of soda and some water, and by lunch time that uncomfortable feeling came back with a force. But this time it was harder to ignore, and he could barely focus on anything other than that feeling. What was happening?
He hadn't known, and everyone neglected to tell him, that sooner or later everything he drank was going to come back to him to exit his system. His bladder was full and heavy, and by the time lunch rolled around, he felt a strong urge to cross his legs together and squirm. It felt like something was trying to come out of him.
When Virgil neglected to touch his food, with a grimace on his face, Patton began to question him.
"Virgil, what's the matter? You've barely touched your food" Patton said with a frown, "are you okay?"
"I-I dunno..." Virgil muttered, "it's like-that heavy feeling you get when you're full, but I'm not full and I do feel hungry, but like it doesn't feel like it usually would or anything." He explained the best he could, "does that make any sense? I'm sorry."
"Oh, it makes perfect sense, Virgil" Logan said, "you may be coming down with some sort or sickness. It will pass eventually, though from what you described, it sounds like you may have a stomach bug or maybe something more serious such as food poisoning. My apologies for that, Patton tends to get impatient and under cook the food sometimes-"
"Hey, I do not! I would never food poison you guys, I care about your health!" Patton pouted.
"We know Patton, you've gotten better" Roman smirked.
Patton shook his head, "anyways, kiddo—at least try to eat something, okay?"
Virgil nodded and ate his food quietly, opting not to join in the conversation. When he finished, all he wanted to do was go lay down in his room and be alone. He felt kind of irritable, and the uncomfortable feeling was quickly turning to pain.
But for some reason everybody wanted to get into the deep questions about Virgil that day, so they led him to the family area, and sat down on the couch to talk about it.
"So, Remus and Janus..how are they? Evil? Mean? Abusive?" Roman asked, pen and pencil out ready to write dramatic scripts for episodes.
"What? No! We have...well, I guess we used to have..so much fun together. Remus and Janus are so great and I couldn't ask for better friends, never a dull moment when Remus is around that's for sure. He's great." Virgil said quietly, shifting his weight around to calm his lower abdomen.
Roman glared as Virgil talked so highly of Remus. "Oh. So you...care about them?" He asked with gritted teeth.
"More than anything" Virgil nodded.
"How?! They're horrible! Remus was a mistake!" Roman exclaimed.
Now it was Virgil's turn to glare. His face went angry and his voice went dark. Oh shit he pissed off emo nightmare.
"Don't you ever call Remus a mistake!" He yelled, "he is perfect the way he is, and yeah, he's crude and demented and gross and kinda annoying sometimes, but there's nothing wrong with him!"
"Oh Virgil, they have you manipulated good...did Janus put some kind of mind spell on you?" Patton asked softly.
"Patton no! They really are just genuinely great friends, there's no manipulation going on" Virgil said in their defense.
"Well if you like them and are defending them then that makes you just as bad as them-"
"Roman! That is quite enough" Logan began, "just because they do things you do not agree with, that does not make them evil. They probably think that we're the 'evil' ones for never talking to them, being cold to them, shutting them out, etc."
"Yeah, pretty much" Virgil said. God, every movement was such a pain. Even talking was hurting so much and it didn't make any sense. Maybe he should just ask about it. But this—this had to be a weakness, right? Why did he feel so embarrassed about it?
He rocked his hips side to side as he shifted his weight for the umpteenth time that day, and listened to everyone, responding the best he could when questions were being asked.
His throat felt dry, and that was one problem he knew how to fix. He grabbed his water bottle and drank some of it, but for some reason that just made his pain worse.
"I'll be right back..." Virgil said, getting up slowly, his bladder feeling full and heavy, as he scurried off to the kitchen.
"What's wrong with him?" Roman asked in concern, "he keeps on-well, he just can't sit still."
"Well, he is the living embodiment of anxiety, who we are questioning about very personal topics" Logan said, "he probably feels uncomfortable talking to us about this, or perhaps he's just anxious."
"Yeah, you're probably right.."
When Virgil returned, they dropped the personal conversation in turn for some lighter topics that would probably put Virgil at ease. Patton wouldn't shut up about wanting to get an 'epic pupper.' And Virgil smirked to himself as they argued about it.
He got on his phone and texted Remus and Janus as the conversation shifted away from him.
Virgil: omg y'all they think you've been manipulating and abusing me
Remus: maybe we have been
Janus: 💀
Virgil: Roman called Remus a mistake and I yelled at him
Remus: Awe, you felt the need to defend poor little ol' me? You're such a gentleman 🥺🥺🥺
Virgil: lmao he wrote a whole script about me 'betraying' ya'll for leaving, me having some serious secret beef with Janus and all tht shit
Janus: ugh, Roman is such a prick, honestly how can he think that we're the bad guys here? It doesn't make sense! He thinks we enjoy being known as the villains? We could all work together in harmony if they could just look past the word 'dark' oml 🙄
Virgil: IKR! They're literally fighting over if they should conjure up a dog, and I wish Remus was here to say something horrible like 'i'd eat it' or smth
Remus: maybe I should just appear and slap Roman
Virgil: honestly
Virgil: ..also I think something's wrong with me? Idk..
Janus: what? :0
Virgil: yeah, like my lower stomach really hurts? Like, idk what it is, at first it was just an uncomfortable twinge but now it's like, constant pain, and I have to keep on shifting and crossing my legs? It's really weird
Remus: You get turned on all the time, how can you not realize thats what it is
Virgil: no! It's something different! It feels like i'm full of something and it's going to explode out of me!
Remus: babe, that's cum. which I can swallow up for you.
Virgil: it really hurts im not joking
Janus: literally ask Logan about it
Virgil: no this is so embarrassing i've never felt this way before
He looked up from his phone to stare at Logan, biting his lips. He wondered if he should say something. Remus and Janus kept encouraging him to just ask Logan, so he just gnawed on his thumb anxiously, closed his phone and continued to stare.
Logan caught his eye and Virgil quickly looked away, blushing as he became very interested in the floor.
Logan looked at Virgil, and began to pick up some things. This wasn't just nervous tics, he was really squirming. He looked very uncomfortable and he couldn't stop moving. Logan raised a brow, and Virgil began to cross and uncross his legs, rubbing his thighs together. He watched as Virgil sighed and fiddled with his hoodie.
Virgil took a nervous sip of his water before he stood up to go refill it. He scrambled off but that's when Logan saw it. Virgil's hoodie rode up his stomach, and Logan saw a huge bulge in his bladder.
Ah. That was the problem.
"Guys I think Virgil is in need of using the facilities" Logan whispered as the anxious side left.
"Um, okay? Why doesn't he just go?" Roman asked, taking a selfie.
"Now that I think of it, he's been squirming around all day. Is there something wrong?" Patton asked in worry.
"Perhaps he doesn't feel comfortable? Maybe he's too nervous to go, or pee shy or something. You know, some people will not use the restroom until they know for sure everybody is gone, out of earshot, asleep, etc." Logan explained.
"Awe, he's nervous" Patton frowned.
"Don't mention it to him. Just try to make him feel comfortable" Logan said, "he'll go sooner or later."
But what Logan didn't know was that Virgil had no freaking clue what it even meant to need to pee. Virgil thought that he was about to explode, his eyes were filling with pained, frustrated tears, and he just couldn't bring himself to ask Logan what was wrong.
He wiped his tears away before returning with some more water. That's how he calmed his nerves, by frequently sipping on his drink.
The casual conversation continued, but Virgil was stuck in his own thoughts. He felt a strong, sudden urge to grab himself but he refrained from doing so, crossing his legs tightly. Why was this happening to him? Is this what it felt like to be sick?
He wanted to go home. He wanted to see his boyfriends annoying faces, he wanted them to tell him that he was being stupid and there was an easy fix to his uncomfortable bodily function.
He felt hopeless, and crossing his legs was no longer working. He couldn't sit still to save his life. He needed to go to his room. He needed to just lay down, call his boyfriends, and probably cry.
He couldn't take it anymore, it hurt way too much. He felt a stabbing feeling in his bladder and gasped, eyes going wide as his hands flew to his groin. He held himself tightly as he leaned forward and hissed.
He stood up quickly, preparing to book it to his room, forgetting that he could just sink down-but standing up again was a mistake. The heavy feeling came crashing down, and he felt a warm, wet sensation run down his thighs.
His breath hitched because hot damn, it felt so good. He leaked into his sweatpants, wondering what the hell was happening—was he dying? Could sides even die?
He didn't have time to panic before he let go of himself and closed his eyes, relaxing his body as the wet feeling grew, and his thighs became warm. He didn't care that the lights were seeing him in this state, he had been in pain for far too long.
He literally fell to his knees, he couldn't help himself, he felt like he was being weighed down. He sat on his feet, and a puddle of yellow liquid grew around him as he continually leaked.
His body betrayed him and the smell was strong and foul, but he didn't care. The piss pooled around his ass before becoming soaked, and dripping down on the floor, creating a large puddle.
The light sides watched in shock as Virgil literally pissed himself on his knees on the floor. They watched as pools of piss met, creating one huge mess below Virgil.
His already dark sweatpants grew darker, and began to glisten and clinging to his wet lower half.
Virgil began to cry in relief as they heavy feeling went away, "oh my god that feels so good" he whispered to himself.
His stream became heavier, and he didn't even have to force a bit of it out, his piss was flowing out of him, spraying full force into his pants.
Nobody knew what to say, or if they should say anything, because a minute and a half in, it looked like Virgil was literally just getting started, and when Virgil looked at them, and their shocked faces, he felt like he was doing something wrong.
He blushed deeply, and whispered that he was sorry, and asked if this was normal, he sniffled, "am-am I okay? What's happening why am I so wet, and what is coming out of me?!" He asked quickly, trying to stop the stream, but the floodgates were already open and he couldn't stop himself. He began to hyperventilate, "am I still just sick? Or am I dying? Oh my god, what the fuck?!"
"I-um-" and the man was too stunned to speak. Logan could literally not form a sentence, and neither could Patton.
At first Roman had snickered, not sure if he should make fun of him or not, but as soon as Logan and Patton shot daggers at him, and as soon as Virgil began to cry, he felt really bad, because it looked like Virgil really had no idea what was happening.
"Ah. Of course—he's never had to pee before. He was a dark side. They never experienced this—oh, I should have explained this to you, i'm sorry" Logan said guiltily.
"W-what?" Virgil asked as his stream began to tamper off into just a few sporadical spurts every few seconds.
"Ah. Virgil, this is completely normal-"
"Pissing yourself isn't completely normal" Roman sneered, causing Patton to slap Roman on the back of the head.
"Ahem, what you felt was completely normal-perhaps not to that extent, though it's an uncomfortable sensation that happens in your bladder when you drink water or liquids, basically, which makes you feel like you need to pee, to put a name on it" Logan explained.
"So-s-so this happens to you guys every day?!" Virgil exclaimed.
"Yes, though we usually use the bathroom. You know, that room with the shower in it? There's a toilet next to the shower we're supposed to go in when we feel that urge-"
"Oh my god we have to potty train him" Roman joked.
"Yes, actually we just might" Logan said with an eye roll directed at Roman.
"Oh..i-i'm sorry.." he said, cheeks going red again, "I-I didn't know-I was-I felt awkward asking about it...i'm so sorry, oh my god it's everywhere!" He exclaimed, covering his face.
"It's quite alright Virgil, it can be cleaned up rather easily. How about you go take a shower, and we can talk more in depth about this later, hm? Roman can conjure the mess away, and everything will be alright" Logan told him.
"Yeah, don't sweat it kiddo! We've got this! I know you might feel really confused right now, finding things out about your body and all-" Patton began, before being cut off.
"OKAY, ALRIGHT THAT'S MY CUE TO LEAVE. GOODBYE I'M GOING TO GO WASH OFF MY SINS AND SHAME, SEE YOU LATER!" Virgil exclaimed, scurrying off the the bathroom, cringing at the cold, wet clothing clinging to his skin.
Patton chuckled, "works every time."
Roman conjured away the mess, and it looked like nothing had even ever happened there. He used his creative magic to dry and clean Virgil's wet clothes while he was in the shower.
Virgil showered for a while, thinking about everything. He drowned out his thoughts and tried to ignore the noise happening outside. Paton and Logan were yelling at Roman about being rude to Virgil.
"You shouldn't embarrass him like that! He's probably already humiliated, don't laugh at him, it wasn't his fault! He had no idea! Poor kiddo probably thought that his body was killing him!" Paton exclaimed.
"Yes Roman, it's very inconsiderate of you to make fun of him like that. He's still learning. He's in an unfamiliar place, with people who all his life, he thought were uncaring and stuck up, and you're proving him to be right" Logan said.
"Okay! You're right, i'm sorry guys..i'm sorry.."
--------------------
When Virgil exited the shower, he dried off and got dressed slowly, not wanting to face the humiliation that awaited him.
Though that's not what happened. They were very kind and understanding towards him. Roman even apologized, and Virgil accepted it. He listened to Logan as he explained more in depth about what was going on, and the next time he felt it, he wanted him to tell him so he could tell him how to use the toilet.
Virgil nodded along and said that he would.
All and all, it turned out much better than it could have.
