RIP Janus(Pt. 1)

A/n: No fr, i'm not even trying to be funny with the title, poor Janus 💀 urdadlolz123 never gives any of these characters a break lmao also THANK U FOR THE REQUEST BESTIEEE🥰💪🌈🌈🌈

I present to you: the Janus one

Took a while to write bc I gotta make the plot as interesting and dramaticas I can.(probably not my best work but whatevzzz)

Also I forgot lmao

Instead of jumping right into it and giving the short silly goofy backstory later like I usually do, i'm going to write the entire field trip thing first bc I like to do more work than I have to🤪✌️

Janus sighed, bored in class when all of a sudden...

A field trip was announced.

He groaned, of course they'd be going on a field trip, because how much more elementary school could a bunch of childish high schoolers get?

The teacher explained the trip as the permission slip was passed out, and Janus couldn't even be bothered to listen. He hated field trips. Being forced to spend time with peers—who he would usually just flip off or avoid—through group activities.

It wasn't fun, and it certainly wasn't even remotely pleasant, because over half the student body hated him. And how could they not? Even he could admit that he wasn't exactly the most approachable, or the easiest person to get along with.

So of course, he half payed attention, ready to just wake up and get it over with the next day, until the teacher announced cheerfully that it was going to be an overnight trip.

And then, he was suddenly much more interested in paying attention. He hoped it was optional.

————————————————————

"Mom, Mother" Janus said, addressing his two Moms, after giving them
a chance to read the permission slip, "I don't think it's a good idea. For me to go on the field trip" he told them.

"Oh, I don't see why not!" His mom exclaimed, "this would be a great opportunity for you to finally make some friends! Six boys to a room, that should be fun! Like a—a big sleepover! And i'm sure it would be a delightful, educational experience!"

His mother scoffed, "Anne, don't be ridiculous, field trips are just stupid activities filled with anxiety and targeted towards the lonely kids to make them feel even more lonely when they're asked to get into groups and then they're the only one without a little buddy to run to, so they get stuck with the teacher, and—"

"Sounds to me like you're projecting" Janus's mom chuckled, "and come on, don't you think that this is just what Janus needs?"

"No! Mother's right" Janus piped up, "I really don't want to go to this thing. What if something happens? You know I have trouble...speaking up.." he murmured, "and—and—"

"Oh, honey i'm sure it won't be a problem" his mom said, already signing the permission slip, "just pack your bags tonight and be on your way. Trust me, when I tell you that everything will be just fine!"

His mother sighed, rolling her eyes at her wife's optimism, "well, I suppose it would be in your best interest to go, since you've already missed a lot of days and your entire grade is going on this trip. Wait—the entire junior class? How do they even keep up with a thousand teenagers?!"

"Ooh!" His mom cried, pointing frantically to the paper, "it's also an extra credit thing, and heaven knows you need that!"

"Okay! Okay—fine, i'll go if I must" Janus spat, snatching the paper after his mom signed it and stomping off to his room and slamming the door shut.

"Hmph. Well, somebody's certainly in a mood" his mom mumbled.

"I would be in one too if I were him" his mother chuckled, "I was just like him growing up. I never cared for all the other stupid children I had to deal with. And I certainly never had many friends. He deserves another pet snake for all the emotional turmoil you somehow put him through" she smirked.

"Hey!—"

————————————————————

Janus wasn't surprised to figure out that the buses would be crammed, two kids to a seat with every spot filled, teachers yelling over almost sixty kids, and the bus loud with pointless chatter in every corner. Even the girl siting next to Janus was turned towards her friends, who sat across from her, chatting up a storm about the latest hot gossip.

Though he'd take the loud, annoying girls back any day over the guys he was forced to room with.

Of course he got stuck with the absolute worst deal ever. The five other guys he shared his room with were a bunch of bullies. Three of them were jocks, all who were held back a year because they cared more about football than math and biology, while the other two were just known for being heartless jerks.

Now, one might say they had a lot in common, though the difference was that Janus didn't go out of his way to make everybody feel like garbage, plus he was widely known as the school loser, not a bit of fame to his name. So of course when the boys found out they were paired with a scrawny little nobody, they found much joy in picking on him.

By the time the actual field trip part was over, they'd been to the stupid educational center and done pointless tours around the place, Janus was ready to just crawl into bed and die. So much social interaction.

Of course though, there was a catch. There was always a catch to these sort of things—

Six boys to a room. Good, great. He knew that.

Though there was another problem.

Six boys.

Three beds.

Janus had to share a bed with somebody.

That alone made him recoil in disgust, that was so awkward.

He listened to the boys complain as they entered and realized the problem, "I don't want to sleep with snake face" one complained, "he's freakin' weird!"

"Yeah!" Another cried, turning to him, "hey, aren't you a fag? You won't try to like, touch any of us right?" He smirked, "I don't want to feel anything pokin' me in my sleep, y'know?"

Janus's eyes went wide, a dark blush spreading on his cheeks as he clenched his fists, setting his jaw. He was not about to fight these guys. He took a deep, calming breath, addressing the boy, who he'd learned was named Jason, "I can assure you, I will not be touching any of you. I wouldn't even touch you with a forty foot stick."

A chorus of "ooooh's" played throughout the room, and the boy let out a laugh, shoving Janus and pinning his wrists above him down to the bed, "okay wise guy, i'd shut up if I were you!"

Janus smirked, "y'know, from this angle, you're the one who looks an awful lot like the fag."

Jason's eyes went wide and he sprung off of Janus, letting out a humorless laugh as his buddies started making fun of him, "okay, okay! This one has jokes!"

Janus scoffed, "can you just tell me who i'm sharing a bed with so I can mentally prepare to loose brain cells?"

"Hell no, ya'll can figure this out" Jason said, "i'm hitting the showers" he pointed to the bathroom, "peace out!"

————————————————————

Once the whole bed situation had been settled, Janus was exhausted. He could vaguely feel some pressure building up in his bladder, but it was evident that he wouldn't be able to use the restroom anytime soon, what with everyone deciding to take a shower, so he just closed his eyes and drifted off into sleep.

...Only to be awakened at six am to the sound of five boys, screaming with both laughter and disgust. He blinked his eyes rapidly and began to rub the tiredness out from them, sitting up slowly, "what—" he froze in place when he felt a cold wetness damp on his pants.

Oh no.

"Dude! You pissed the bed! You pissed on me!" One of the boys cried, "what is wrong with you freak?! That's disgusting!"

Janus's eyes filled with tears. He couldn't breathe. He had wet the bed. In a room with five other people who had their phones out taking pictures of him!

"Speechless now?" Jason scoffed, "where'd all that tough guy energy go now, huh piss baby?"

Janus let out a sob, covering his face as he began to cry, only for a chorus of raucous laughter to sound, and for Janus to cry harder. He gasped when his blankets were ripped away from him, and he sat up, staring down with tear filled eyes at his soaking wet pants now on full display, a large, dark stain beneath him. Tears ran down his face and his lip trembled as more pictures were taken.

He shot up from the bed, shoving past everyone and grabbing his bag, slamming open the bathroom door and locking it shut, before getting in the shower and sobbing violently, scrubbing his entire body harshly, until his skin turned a dull shade of red.

————————————————————

To put things short, everybody knew, and Janus was humiliated. Every time he walked the halls, he'd be met with giggles from girls gossiping about him, immediately putting hands over their mouths to whisper, or—or stupid jocks shoving him into lockers to torment him, teasing about how he better not piss himself in there.

He couldn't even ask to be excused from the class to use the restroom anymore without people snickering, so he just stopped going entirely. By the end of the day, people eventually caught on, and he'd be stopped on the way to the buses by some bullies, asked if he was going to wet himself again.

Which, of course lead to him rushing into the house every day in desperation, on the cusp of wetting himself. His mom and his mother noticed, of course but didn't say anything about it the first few times, figuring that he had just been caught short.

Though they noticed it becoming a common occurrence, every single day, and his mom eventually decided to question him.

So, about two weeks into this routine, as soon as she saw the bus drop Janus off she stood beside the door to bombard him.

The door was slammed open and slammed shut within seconds, and his mom simply smacked her tongue and grabbed the boy, who tried to zip past her, by the arm, "nuh-uh young man! We are talking about this!"

"Mom!" Janus shouted, gasping lightly as his knees buckled together. He doubled over and whimpered.

Janus's mother widened her eyes from where she sat, "what the hell are you doing?! Let him go!"

"Oh, please! He's being dramatic, I'm not even holding him that tightly! Besides, this is like—the eighth time, we need to address this! Not to mention the little call we got from the schoo—"

Her wife cut her off, "oh my god, Anne! Do you even hear yourself, why do you think you're going to talk to him in the first place?! I meant let him go to the bathroom, you numbskull!" She shouted.

"Oh—oh, right! I'm so sorry honey" she got out quickly, "go, go!"

As soon as Janus's arm was released, he snatched it back and bolted towards the bathroom, quick to get inside and close the door, listening to his parents argue as he release eight hours worth of piss into his toilet.

He came back out of the bathroom, his face flushed with embarrassment when he slowly made his way back to his parents.

"Janus!" His mom cried, "I am so sorry, I just didn't realize for some reason, I was just like, dead set on talking to you about this."

"There's nothing to talk about. You guys know how I am with speaking up.." he murmured.

"No, honey. We know that this is more than that" his mom said.

"We got a call from the school" his mother explained.

Of course.

Of course his mom and mother knew. The school had called them and told them about the trouble he had, and that was just great. Eventually, everything became too much for him—the bullying, the pictures being shown around, the constant holding and whispering—he almost just wanted to skip school.

But now, his parents knew, they were talking to him, he had an out. And so, he begged his parents to let him go to a different school. One nearby, in the same district.

His mother won the argument his mom made against the idea, and suddenly Janus was enrolled to a different school.

And he was not going to let anyone make fun of him ever again.

————————————————————

Patton was so excited when his teacher announced that they were getting a new kid! He imagined what they would be like. Short? Tall? Boy? Brown haired? Girl? Wear hats? Nonbinary? They could be anything!

Roman chuckled at his friend's behavior, "Patton, i'm sure the kid switched schools for a reason. I'm suspicious. Halfway through the school year too? I'm not buying that their family just moved."

"Oh, come on! Things happen! Jobs change! I'm sure they're just looking for a fresh start and some new friends!"  Patton giggled, "and I intend to be the best friend!"

The class erupted into quiet chatter when the teacher walked in, the new kid in tow.

'He's so cute'

'Cute?! UM, try smokin' hot!'

'Ohmigod, Mike, you're drooling!'

"Class, settle down!" The teacher cried, "this is the newest member of our class. His name is Janus Stone."

"Your name is Janus?" A random kid asked, "Janus can be spelled like a thousand different ways!"

"Well this Janus is spelled J-a-n-u-s" the teacher spelled out, as if they were in kindergarten, "now Janus, go sit by Patton, will you? Patton, raise your hand."

Patton shot his hand up into the air, practically vibrating with Joy as Janus came to sit at he and Roman's table. He decided right then and there that he was going to adopt this mysterious kid.

Janus set his stuff down, looking anywhere but Patton and Roman.

"Hey there!" Patton chirped.

Janus only rolled his eyes, digging into his backpack to pull out a notebook for his work assignment.

But Patton was determined, "i'm Patton!"

"Oh, really? I had no idea" Janus scoffed, "it's not like the teacher said 'hey Patton, raise your hand' or anything."

"Oh, yeah, right! Silly me—Janus, right?" Patton questioned.

"Oh, yeah it was only said like five times" he said dryly, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Roman narrowed his eyes, biting his tongue in an attempt not to start a fight on the dude's first day. Maybe he was just grumpy? Moving schools so far into the year had to be stressful.

Either way, he did not like this guy.

————————————————————

While Roman had absolutely zero interest in befriending the new kid because of his lackluster first impression, Patton was all over him. He was really interested in Janus's backstory! ...If he even had one. But people don't just change schools like that unless they have some beef or something!

Janus seemed kind of shy at first, but once he opened his mouth, it was evident that it was more of an anti social situation. Because Patton could agree, that yes, maybe Janus was being a teensy, tiny bit of a jerk—but it was only the first day! He had much room for improvement!

Patton figured out really quickly that Janus had a bad attitude. Like, the kind that got you demerits and detention. He was a frequent liar, always causing some sort of trouble, or picking a fight. He was very sarcastic and rude as well. Not the type of person someone like Patton would typically go for.

But it seemed like Janus's social skills were extremely lacking. He probably never had a good friend in his entire life, and Patton just found that incredibly sad, because a huge part of him had a sneaking suspicion that he was correct in his assumptions.

So he tried, and tried and tried. For weeks. He would attempt for small talk, try to get him to open up. Though all of his efforts were for nothing, because most of the time he wouldn't even get a response. He'd just be ignored. Though as soon as Janus finally opened his mouth he always managed to make Patton feel like the dumbest person in the world.

Eventually, Patton began to feel like he was pestering and annoying him. He's never gotten Janus to even crack a smile. He thought that maybe he should just give up.

So that's what he did.

————————————————————

Roman stared at his computer, scrolling through some twitter posts. He was so bored. He actually thought his head was going to explode, there was nothing to do, and he couldn't even annoy his parents because they weren't home.

So, Roman decided that he wanted to know why Janus switched schools so suddenly. He set out on a mission to figure out the reason, and wasn't going to rest until he found it.

Rather quickly, he found a post with a thread that piqued his interest, humming to himself as he scanned over it.

'JessTheMess:

Okay so guys, like.

There was this kid in my class a while ago who wet himself on an overnight field trip and people bullied him for a like a really long time and all of a sudden he disappeared like a few weeks ago? Ppl started sharing the vids and pics of him online, i'm sure they're floating around somewhere.

This isn't a post to make fun of him, i'm just genuinely curious about what happened to him!'

Roman read through the comments.

'GirlyPop: Oh, Jess! I so remember that kid! It was like, hilarious! What was his name again?

JessTheMess: His name was Janus Stone!'

Roman swore he could feel his heart stop as he stared at the screen with wide eyes, continuing to scroll after a moment.

'GirlyPop: Oh ya, he moved schools lol he was too humiliated to stay or smth.'

And Roman had never flown to the search bar so fast.

He began to type in countless combinations of Janus's name in order to find the videos of him wetting himself. Soon enough, after quite a while of searching phrases that he would definitely need to wipe his browser history of, he stumbled across a post with a link to a folder full of videos and pictures.

Pictures of Janus crying with soaking wet pants, pictures of the large, dark stained up bed, videos of him sobbing while being pointed and laughing at—Roman had hit the jackpot. He almost couldn't believe that the person in the video was the same Janus he knew from school.

An evil smirk came across Roman's face as he had an idea—a horrible, cruel idea.

He was going to airdrop the videos at school.

He wouldn't be all high and mighty then, now would he?

————————————————————

"Roman!" Patton chirped, waving to his friend through the crowd of kids, meeting up with him in the middle of the hallway. Class didn't start for another ten minutes, so everybody was lingering in the hallway, pushing past people and walking around. It really was crowded, to put it short.

"Hello, Pat!" Roman laughed when his friend ran up to him and gave him a big hug, "I think i'm really making progress with Janus! I complimented his hat and he said he really liked the cat sweater I always wear around my shoulders!"

"...Sorry, padre. I think that may have been sarcasm" Roman cringed, "but don't worry about him. He's like, a grade A asshole. Which reminds me. I found something out about him. Check your airdrop" Roman smirked, typing furiously on his phone.

Suddenly, all the phones in the area buzzed, and they opened a document full of all the videos and photos with the caption: "share with your friends and re airdrop!"

Patton opened the air drop and full on gasped, nearly dropping his phone from sheer surprise at the various pictures that were shared of Janus, soaking wet and crying. There were even a few videos.

"Roman!" Patton chastised, hissing lowly at his friend. His eyes widened as he looked around frantically at all the students now pointing to each other's phones and laughing, "Roman, why would you do that?! Do you know what people are going to start doing to him over this?!"

"Oh, come on, Patton! It's just a light joke i'm playing on the newbie. He's a real jerk face anyway, he needed to be humbled! He deserves this, trust me" Roman defended, "and look!" He pointed out into the crowd of students, faces buried in their phones, "everyone's just eating it up!"

Patton opened his mouth to say something, when out of the corner of his eye he saw none other than Janus, his eyes rounded and filled with tears as he stared at his phone, down across the hallway. He looked up and locked eyes with Patton, who outstretched his arm, before tears began to run down his face and he fled in the other direction.

"Wait, Janus!" Patton cried.

Roman grabbed his shoulder, "Patton, leave him alone, he's just being dramatic—"

Patton tugged his shoulder away from Roman harshly, before turning to face him, "no, Roman! He is not!" He shouted, "just imagine what it would be like if you were in his shoes! The entirety of the student body knows a humiliating side of his past that he was clearly trying to hide, all because you wanted petty revenge on someone who barely even did anything to you!"

"Patton, you're overreacting, trust me!" Roman cried.

"How am I supposed to trust you after what you just did?! That was a horrible thing to do! Imagine all the bullying material you just served up on a silver platter!" He gasped, "this must be why he switched schools! Because of how intense the bullying was!"

Roman opened his mouth, but Patton just started backing away, "no—no. I don't want to hear your excuses" he turned on his heel, "i'm going to go find Janus. I think he's going to need a friend."

With that, he left a dumbfounded, slightly guilty Roman by himself in the middle of the hallway, now filled with chaos, almost everyone shrieking with laughter and yelling over each other as they stared at their phones, going through all of the photos and videos.

————————————————————

"Janus? Are you in here?" Patton called out, keeping his voice soft an low as to not draw anymore unnecessary attention than need be.

He walked further into the bathroom he was checking when he heart a sniffle, followed by breath hitching from a stall. Patton softened his eyes and walked over, knocking gently on the door, "Janus? Is that you?"

He received a small, timid 'yes' from the other side of the stall.

"I'm so sorry this happened—I know it must not feel great to have something like that happen to you. Why don't you come out? I'm sure it's not as bad as you think. Soon enough there's going to be some football player giving STD's to all the cheerleaders and you'll be old news! Come on, let's get to class. I'll protect you from everyone's meanness!" Patton promised.

He received no response and sighed, trying again for a few minutes. Just as about Patton was about to leave, clearly ready to give up, he heard a soft click followed by Janus opening the door.

Patton smiled, and they talked.

————————————————————

It didn't matter how badly Patton wanted to help Janus fit in and come back from the embarrassment of what Roman did, or how often he tried to help, he just couldn't get those pictures out of his mind.

Janus just crying, begging for the camera to be turned off, his pants thoroughly soaked with his own urine, and his face red.

It was a lot for Patton to process. Big, bad boy Janus having such a weak, pathetic moment? How could you blame Patton for starting to treat Janus like a baby?

He wasn't trying to do it. He wasn't actively trying to make the poor kid even more embarrassed, it was just that  he had a hard time not babying him after all the pictures and videos.

He still took it upon himself to try to be a friend, try to protect him. Though some would say that he was doing more harm than good, treating him like a child in front of his bullies.

"Hey, piss boy!" A voice called, making Patton turn his head to see a ball of paper being thrown Janus's way. It was another bully. That was the fourth one in just that day.

"Ugh. Jacob" Patton muttered, his voice filling with disgust as he watched, hidden from afar and hoping that he wouldn't have to intervene.

Janus simply rolled his eyes at the bully and kept walking.

"Are you ignoring me?" Jacob seethed, "acting all high and mighty from a junior who still wets the bed! I bet you usually just wear diapers at night but forgot them for that field trip!"

He grabbed Janus by the collar of his shirt and yanked him closer. He was basically on his tip toes, now face to face with Jacob, "what? Got nothing to say? It must mean i'm right" he growled.

"No" Janus said flippantly, "I just don't waste my breath on incompetent assholes who can't pass the algebra I class they've taken four times already."

Jacob let out a humorless laugh, "oh, wow, have you been saving that one?"

"Yes, actually" Janus shrugged.

Jacob scoffed, opening a locker and shoving Janus inside, "stay in there and shut the hell up! You're so mentally stunted that you piss yourself and you can't even get bullied right!"

"Maybe you're just terrible at bullying. Just like you're terrible at keeping a girlfriend and doing math. You get no credits, and you get no bitches" Janus called from inside of the locker.

Jacob punched it, making Patton flinch at just how loud it was, "shut up! Damn, no wonder everybody hates you!"

"Leave him alone!" Patton called, finally revealing himself, "you don'g have to be so mean to him! Haven't you ever thought about the fact that he has feelings?"

"Oh, feelings" the bully mocked, clasping his hands together and putting them up to his face, before scoffing, "get lost."

Jacob walked away, and Patton was quick to open up the locker, "are you okay, Janus? Did he hurt you—"

He slapped Patton's hand away, "I didn't need your help! I was doing perfectly fine on my own! You are so embarrassing! Feelings? Really?!" He started to stomp away, fuming, "just leave me alone!"

"I'm just trying to protect you!" Patton cried, reaching a hand out as Janus ventured further down the hallway, various students either giggling, whispering behind their hands or making comments about him.

Patton sighed, dropping his arm. Maybe Janus was right. He didn't seem too affected by the bully, after all.

But little did Patton know, Janus went home every evening with his heart heavy in his chest, dejected and defeated.

Little did Patton know that Jacob wasn't the only bully. Little did he know that even the little laughs and the side comments got underneath his skin and made him feel sick.

Little did he know that Janus stayed up late every night preparing himself for what he was going to be faced with at school the next day, muffling sobs through his pillow as he cried his eyes out.

————————————————————

Just like at his old school, Janus no longer was able to use the bathroom.

Well—he could, if he wanted to. It was just that he'd never been particularly good with speaking up, and now with the weight of the entire student body seeing him walk to the bathroom and get reminded of all the bullying material, he'd rather just hold it all day and hope for the best.

Plus, there were those bullies that would follow him around and block him from going just to get a rise out of him, teasing him endlessly just to see if he would wet himself.

This caused Janus to loose a lot of sleep, naturally. He was always worrying, thinking up plans about where to be at the right time to miss the bullies so that he could pee. He was always worried about when and where he would be able to pee.

Not knowing when he would get to relieve himself next really stressed him out, hell, it would stress anyone out, so it was no surprise that he'd stay up all night thinking about it.

This situation was really unfortunate, because Janus currently had to pee. Bad. But he was also really tired, which, was a horrible combination once you thought about it.

Though, he couldn't find it in himself to care at the moment, because he was just so exhausted, and the lecture was getting so boring. Maybe if he just rested his eyes for a few minutes, everything would be okay. Class would be over when he blinked himself awake, and he could rush off to the bathroom to pee.

That is not what happened though. It felt like just seconds after he closed his eyes(it was actually thirty minutes) he was being woken up by screams of laughter, people actually howling. He snapped his eyes open and groaned, allowing his eyes to adjust to the bright lights of the room, "what's going o—"

His eyes widened when he felt it. The warm wetness spread between his legs. He looked down to assess the damage and it was bad. He snapped his head back up and saw about twenty phones in his face, pictures and videos being taken. His eyes filled with tears and his face turned a deep shade of red. He folded his arms and slammed his head into them on the desk, his shoulders shaking with humiliation. Not again.

"Janus!" Patton gasped.

Oh no. Hell no. Please shut up, Patton will only make it worse—

"Janus! Shh, shh, don't cry! We'll get you all cleaned up, okay? Let's get to the bathroom, i'm sure the nurse has some nice, clean clothes! How does that sound? And you can wipe yourself down with some paper towels! It will all be okay, come on!" Patton cried, way too loud, and people were still filming and he felt like a baby.

"Patton, stop!" Janus yelled in anger, pushing him away harshly, "you always baby me! What the hell is wrong with you?! Just get away from me and leave me alone!"

With that, he left Patton stunned, alone in the classroom as the teacher tried to scream over all the noise and settle everyone down.

And the bullying got worse. So much worse from there.
