I saw a black figure fly past me in a blur and before I knew it I heard a hard thud, I looked down at my feet to see a frightened boy about my age staring up at me the panic was profound in his eyes "you okay there kiddo?" I asked. The boy nodded and I extended my hand to help him up. The dark, purple-haired boy took my hand and got up shakily "t-thank you" he murmured and then looked down, slightly embarrassed. "it's alright kiddo". I gave him my brightest smile and help him up, he gives a grateful. Look and mumbles something then runs away back to a woman in an emerald cloak. "bye!" I say chirpily, getting back to looking for my books.

I was I collected all I needed on the list I run back to my Ma and she pays for them, we spent the rest of our morning in crowded shops getting uniforms, wands, cauldrons and finally. A pet. A mix of happiness and excitement bubbled in me at the thought of finally getting a pet. I loved animals, cats were especially adorable! But I'm allergic... my hand rested on my chin and I looked up, thinking of what I could get, suddenly a realization hit me. I could get an owl!

I'd be able to talk to Mum and Ma whilst I'm away! Besides owls are just so cute and smart! Of course, I had to think of what to call mine. I drifted away into my excited thoughts for a while but snapped back out of when I heard my Ma yelling my name, she was slightly annoyed so. I could tell she'd been yelling for a while. "sorry Ma, I'm just so excited!" I said. She smiled and shook her head slightly "so kid, what do you wanna get?" I grinned at this, "an owl!!" I said enthusiastically.

I searched around for a while looking for a little pal that I liked, I. would've been happy with any of the owls really, but I wanted one that I hit off with well. I walked past a cage and hear a loud hoot, a large white bird with black speckles ruffled its feathers. I walked up to the cage and checked the label 'large snowy owl, female.' I smiled, she was the one.

"hey there missy!" that was it! That was the name I'd call her! Missy! I picked up her cage carefully and then walked to Ma "can I have her! Please, Ma!" I pleaded "she looks beautiful, kid!". One thing always admired about my relationship with my Ma was that we both got extremely excited about things, no matter how small.

Ma took the cage with missy in it and took it to the counter and bought her "thanks ma!!!" I screeched in excitement before taking Missy and running out of the shop with a wide grin on my face. This was all so exciting! Ma came out of the shop rushing after me "Let's get you on that train!!" she exclaimed, she had agrin that matched mine but it was hiding a slight sadness, it was the same smile she gave whenever Emile left to go. "Emile and Mom will be apparating soon," Ma said gently whilst walking to the station with me and holding my hand as we walked towards the 9 and ¾ platform
