Virgil POV

"Tired, Virgil?" Logan questions me when I yawn for the fifth time in 2 minutes. I've been trying to contain them as well since its impolite to yawn at the dinner table and I know Patton spent time into making the food I have sat in front of me but once again, I'm struggling to stay awake since I've spent my nights worrying and panicking over stupid and tiny matters but to my reassurance, Logan is the only real one that realises my tiredness. I'm quite good at hiding my yawns, I've had years of practise so it's nothing new.

"A little, yeah."

"Would you rather you were to be excused for an early night?" He suggests, glancing at Roman and Patton, both talking about a possible movie night with Janus and Remus. "I am sure Patton and Roman will not mind." He raises his voice a little as silence sets in and we all look from one to another.

"Oh, sorry kiddo, I didn't hear." Patton states. Logan just sighs.

"May Virgil have an early night?"

"Oh, sure! No need to ask." Patton stares at me with a fatherly warm smile. "Are you okay kiddo?"

"Yeah, I just didn't have a good night of sleep last night that's all." I tell them the half truth.

"Everyone has bad nights once in a while, Emo nightmare." Roman tells me and I stand, about to pick my plate up but Patton insists he'll do it for me afterwards and that I should just go to bed now, so I nod and accept, turning around to walk down to my bedroom door.

"Good night!" They all call from behind but I merely wave, trying to hide yet another yawn but I fail miserably. Well at least I'll get some sort of sleep tonight.

Third person

"Is Virgil okay?" Patton asks Logan more than Roman at the table once he had left.

"Why are you asking me exactly?" Logan questions with confusion.

"Because he told you he was worn out."

"Because I asked about it. If you are curious you might as well go ask yourself." he states bluntly. Roman gives Patton a glance of his eyes with a small knowing smirk.

"I think you should." The Prince tells him.

"Me?"

"Yes, you clearly have a connection with him and if we asked he'd brush it off."

"Are you serious?" Logan glances down the hallway, finding himself to be curious about what Virgil was hiding but he refrains himself from leaving the table. "I am having dinner with both of you two. It would be impolite to-"

"You can leave! I don't mind!" Patton exclaims with eagerness. "Go check on my dark strange son!"

Virgil POV

Just as I'm readying to close my tired eyes under my covers, there's a knock on my door, shaking me awake. I groan, sitting up from my bed.

"Yeah?" I mumble with a yawn.

"May I enter?" Logan?

"Oh sure." Why is Logan the one to come and talk to me? I was half expecting it to be Patton, since he looked as if he suspected something but apparently I was wrong. The door opens wide and I squint at the light, seeing him walk in. "Lo? Can you shut the door for me?" I ask and he glances back and then with a nod at me, he closes it silently before walking in my direction. "Thank you."

"No problem, Virgil." He insists. I shuffle across my bed to make room for him to sit beside me if he wants.

"What are you doing in here, four eyes?" I joke in my sarcastic manner to make sure he receives it as a joke and nothing more. He smiles at my words, sitting next to me, moving his legs onto my bed, staring into each other's eyes.

"I am simply checking up on you, that is all." I smirk, looking away from him for a moment but my eyes are drawn to his again when he refuses to shift his gaze from mine. "I suspect I am feeling worry for you."

"What?" I scoff. Logan? Feeling emotions? Not true.

"Indeed. It is an odd sensation. I feel as if I need to be around you most seconds that pass to make sure you are taking care of yourself and that if anything is bothering you, I need to correct it." Wait, what? He's actually admitting he's feeling something? And it's not just neutral? I purse my lips together into a small smirk, my foundation hiding my blush.

"Wow," I try and make a snarky comment but I can't think of anything. "I'm amazed."

"Virgil, is there a reason why you have not been sleeping well recently? I have noticed your tiredness begin to get progressively worse." He tells me with a serious tone in his voice.

"Well, since you've asked, I've been waking up in the middle of the night, feeling too anxious to fall back asleep."

"Oh, I see." he mutters. I release my breath, facing away from him with lowered shoulders.

"I haven't had a decent night's sleep in weeks. Sorry if I've been off, Lo." I spill more, wanting to say more now that someone's noticed my struggle. I cover my mouth, yawning once again but this time, I let my eyelids drop close, trying to relax.

"I shall stay, maybe it will be easier to fall asleep with someone in the room." Now there's an idea tangled with hope.

"If you wanna stay then sure." I mumble, allowing my head to fall onto his shoulder. I sense him tense up, but I don't move, his shoulders comfy but when he lays his arm around me, I didn't expect him to be so warm and cosy. I smile, snuggling my head closer to his neck and Logan lays his head on mine, also smiling with his eye closed. "Thank you Logan."

"I am only making sure you are okay." my heart races a little faster than before. "Sleep now while you can and I will stay for as long as you want.
