Third persons pov
Logan sat there on the bank of the pond. The same pond where he watched his brother fade. He stared into the water and began to cry. He looked around to see no-one.
Brother why'd you have to go?
You left us all so soon.
His brother was only 13. He barely made a dent in what would have been a beautiful life.
Remember the song I wrote- about your family years ago?
Well they're waiting- for you to come home.
Logan went to go fetch his brother for dinner when he saw him half faded by the lake. His family wasnt there to say their goodbyes. Only Logan was there.
What do I do?
What do I say?
And dad tells me to pray.
He didn't know what to do. He just sat there and held his brother in his arms and cried. He didn't know how he was going to tell his family. How could he say that their eldest son just faded and they didn't get to say goodbye.
So I've prayed and prayed, but the pain won't go away.
He kept praying that it was all a dream. That he would wake up to his brother tickling him. But the pain of losing him kept washing over him.
The pain gets worse, and never stops
Everyday he repressed his feelings, they got stronger and stronger.
And I've asked the Lord for us to swap.
He cried out for whatever god there was out there to stop him from fading and to make Logan fade in his place.
I beg and plead, 'cause you have kids to feed.
His parents often worked late, so he and his brother would cook together. He couldn't do anything without him.
Why is it always stormy weather?
And brother, tell me if it all gets better.
After his brother passed, it felt like there was a storm clouding over him. He didn't know if it would ever get better. If he would ever recover.
Why'd you leave? Why'd you die?
He couldn't accept the fact that his brother. His best friend was dead.
You finally made your brother cry.
He never used to cry before. He was Logic. He wasn't supposed to feel anything. But now with the only light in his life gone, he couldn't do anything but cry.
I know your watching over us tonight.
And I hope you're watching over us tonight.
He always liked the idea that every star was someone you loved watching over you. Of course he knew that wasn't true. But it comforted him.
I'm sorry I missed your call.
He had left his phone at home so he didn't get his brother's phone call which would have been his last.
I wasn't there for you at all.
He wasn't there when he needed him the most.
And know I thought it through, maybe if I answered you.
You would still be here, all along.
He couldn't help but think about what would have happened if he brought his phone with him. He could've gotten to him quicker. He could have saved him.
Now no more calls, can't you see?
I took for granted family?
And once they're gone, you'll never get that back.
He realised then that he took his family for granted. He didn't care for love. At least not back then. That day showed him that he should appreciate what he has before it's gone.
No more laughs, no more hugs.
Now his brother was gone, he wouldn't have to make him laugh and smile.
So hold onto the ones you love.
He vowed then that he would never take his family for granted. That he would hold them close and never let go.
Your soul is free, I love you, Anthony.
That line always got to him. It was so personal. He couldn't stop the tears from running down his face.
And why is it always stormy weather?
And, brother, tell me when does it all gets better?
He screamed the lyrics to the heavens. Hoping he would get an answer.
Why'd you leave? Why'd you die?
You finally made your brother cry.
He didn't care if anyone saw him cry. He just wanted to let it all out. It hurt to keep it inside. He wanted his brother to know that he loves him.
I know your watching over from above.
So hold on to the ones you love.
He finished the sang and fell to his knees. Anthony was the one person that he could rely on. The one he could turn to if he needed it. It hurt not having him there.
Snap
Logan snapped his head around to see the familiar, small silhouette of the anxious trait. He wiped his eyes as Virgil started approaching. He felt the smaller side sit down next to him.
"Salutations vi-" Logan was cut off by Virgil wraping his arms around the logical traits waist and pulling him into a hug. He saw that the smaller man was crying. He hesitantly accepted the hug. It felt good.
"Virgil, why are you crying?" he asked pulling away to look at his face.
"I knew Anthony." The anxious man squeaked out no louder than a whisper. Logan couldn't believe it. He didn't remember Virgil before they had met.
But before he could reply he saw that Virgil had run off. He must have seen Logan's disbelieving expression. The logical placed a flower by the lake and went to find the anxious side.
He walked up a hill to see Virgil with Anthony?!
To be continued
I like making these song stories. The next one is going to be Virgil's pov. He's going to be singing one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite musicals.
Stay safe💜💛
Peace✌🏻
