Warnings~ messy breakup, abandoning someone, screaming, crying, straight jackets and insane Remus.

After Janus leaves, things go south...

"JJ wait!" Remus called, chasing after his partner who was walking briskly to the door.
"For the last time Remus, don't call me that." Janus snarled without even turning to look at him.
Remus caught him by the cape.
"Please!"

Janus scoffed and turned around.
"Go on"
Remus sniffled and rose up.
"I'm sorry. For everything. I know I'm a screw up but please don't leave me." he whimpered.
Janus stared at him before setting his jaw.
"We're over."

Remus couldn't hear much after that.
All of the following conversation blurring together in a whirl of anger, pain and sobbing. Remus briefly remembers latching onto Janus' cape, tearing it significantly. Janus turned on his heel and walked out, leaving Remus alone, clutching onto the cape.

Remus cried himself to sleep that night, holding the fabric close to him as he fell into a fitful sleep.

He woke up the next morning and was about to roll over to kiss his boyfriend when it hit him. Janus was still gone.

It's the start of a new day
But it feels as though everything's ending

It felt like his world came crashing down around him. His one friend and lover... Gone.

Still picking up pieces
From the broken love you gave to me

Ever since his and Janus' first appearence, Janus had been vying to be accepted. Remus just wanted to make Janus happy. He should have seen this coming...

"My earth feels like it's stopped turning."

Time seemed to slow. The days dragging longer and longer as Remus waited for Janus to come home.

"And my sun feels like it's stopping burning."

The dark side felt cold. Colder than it had ever felt before. Maybe it was because Remus realised he was almost alone. //orange-//

"Have you ever seen the sun after the heartbreak?"

The sun looked dull. It looked devoid of light. Even when Remus went to the imagination.

"Frozen somewhere in time."

Everything seemed so distant. As if Remus was viewing his world in a 3rd person view.

"Have you ever seen the stars after the word goodbye?"

He couldn't bare to look at the stars anymore. That's what he a Janus did every night. They'd cuddle up on the roof and talk about their dreams and wishes while looking up at the beauty of the night sky.

"After the heartbreak"

"Footsteps are pounding
Like echoes when you came to wake me"

He always heard footsteps. His paranoia and intrusive thoughts were getting worse and worse every passing day.

"Your shadows surrounds me"

The dark side grew darker as he lost hope of Janus ever coming home. The dim nightlight in his room casted dark shadows, making Remus hallucinate Janus being there.

"And swallows the colours of my dreams"

If he managed to sleep, he would either be met with painful nightmares or black and white dreams of the couples old memories.

"The space in my bed reminds me that you're gone"

Every day when he woke up to an empty side of his bed, it killed him a little more inside.

"Your voice in my head replays like a love song"

Remus longed to hear Janus' voice. His real voice. Not the ones in his dreams or his nightmares.

"And the screams and the lies,"

Remus would scream and cry to the point of passing out as he fought with his demons over whether Janus lived him or not.

"they tear me up inside"

He didn't feep human anymore. He felt like an empty shell of a man.

"I'm left with an empty sky"

As the mind palaces change depending on how the sides living there are feeling, the dark scape was bleak and miserable, more so than usual. The sky was covered with clouds and there were no more stars.

"Have you ever seen the sun after the heartbreak?
Frozen somewhere in time
Have you ever seen the stars after the word goodbye?"

It got to a point where Remus didn't think of anything but that day. He started to lose his mind. More so than usual.

"I am lost in the dark"

One day, everything broke. He passed out and woke up in a black, blank scape. He couldn't see anywhere to get out.

He saw Janus with the light sides. He looked happy. Happier than when he was with him.

"Wanna be where you are!"

Remus sobbed, reaching for Janus and crying out when the vision disappeared.

He fell to the ground and pulled at his hair.

"So hard to keep it together
When you pulled me apart!"

Janus picked apart Remus' fears and helped him but without him, all of his fears were worse than before. He couldn't do this anymore.

"Haunted by your disguise"

Was Janus' love a lie? Were all his smiles fake? Remus didn't know anymore.

"Disappeared with the light"

He literally disappeared to the light side.

"Days and nights feel like forever"

His eyes dulled as he lost his mind.

"All my innocence has died! has died!"

emus laughed hysterically. A small, sane part of him didn't want to hurt anyone, snapping himself into a straight jacket.

"Have you ever seen the sun?
Have you ever seen the stars?
I've seen them before in your eyes
After the heartbreak
Frozen somewhere in time

I've seen them before in your eyes
Haunted by your disguise
Disappeared with the light
Days and nights feel like forever

The words echoed through the darkside. The Duke had lost his mind...

~months later~

Janus took his first step back into the darkside.

"Remus?"
